Taking place in New York, is an enormous game with a justifiably large map full to the brim with content to be explored. features a plethora of interesting, entertaining, and simply brilliant quests; although the vast majority of the game's main quests, side quests, and side adventures don't offer tangible rewards beyond EXP, tech parts, or tech points, a few questlines reward the player with some excellent prizes.

is quite possibly one of the best exclusives yet to be released on PS5 — the title is a triumph of gameplay and storytelling, and arguably one of the best superhero games ever released. The game sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales team up to take on some of the most powerful antagonists and supervillains from the franchise's expansive roster. is full of exceptional content, and nowhere is this more apparent than in its numerous questlines. Although the vast majority of quests in the game are worth the time and effort required to complete, some offer the player outstanding rewards which only sweeten the deal.

Unlocked after completing the main story mission "," the Hunter Blinds and Bases set of side activities sees the player locate and clear out a series of cloaked outposts, Hunter Blinds, across New York. Though the Hunter Blinds are easy enough to overcome, the four Hunter Bases are far harder to defeat. While there are rewards for clearing each Hunter Blind and Hunter Base, the ultimate reward is granted after completing all four Hunter Bases. Doing so will see Peter rewarded with the Last Hunt suit and Miles with the Most Dangerous Game suit.
With Hunter Blinds and Bases situated in the districts of Harlem, Upper West Side, Financial District, and Downtown Brooklyn, Spider-Man must be willing to travel all across the city to locate and clear out these hidden enemy strongholds. Though the ultimate reward comes after completing the questline, the player is also rewarded for cleaning out each Hunter Blind and Hunter Base — receiving as a reward for clearing out a Hunter Blind 1,000 EXP, five Rare Tech Parts, and 150 Tech Parts — and receiving as a reward for completing a Hunter Base 1,500 EXP, five Hero Tokens, and 350 Tech Parts.
The side mission storyline "" revolves around Peter Parker attempting to help out a familiar figure to those who played and especially its DLC — Yuri Watanabe. Now going by the name Wraith, Yuri, a former NYPD captain and long-time ally of Spider-Man, is hell-bent on destroying a cult that is causing trouble in New York. Throughout , the life of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, is put in perilous jeopardy on numerous occasions. The web-shooting, wall-climbing superhero has seemingly never been so vulnerable in any of his previous bouts, including the showdown with the Sinister Six in Insomniac's first title. Despite the plethora of threats in, Peter is a remarkably resilient character, though at one point his toughness and durability are tested to the extreme. Though an iconic figure, he is far from immortal, a fact that has led many to wonder what happens to Spider-Man in — could he really be killed by Kraven or Venom?

In Spider-Man 2, side quests reinforce some of the series’ guiding ideals: heroism isn’t always about taking down larger-than-life villains, like The Sandman. Like the first, features a vast array of villains and several exceptional bosses; however, not all of the interactions with bosses are equal in excitement, fun, or difficulty, some of the game's boss battles are far more challenging than others. Though each boss battle in presents a unique set of challenges, a few of these fights will push the player's ability to its very limits.
's story features far more shocking deaths than the previous two entries in the series. From classic Spider-Man characters to beloved NPCs, nobody seems to be safe in Insomniac's latest superhero title.
Spider-Man 2 is chock full of references to other Marvel properties, as New York itself features locations such as the Avengers Tower, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Wakandan Embassy, all of which are references to The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. In fact, the latter even lets you throw up a wholesome Wakanda Forever salute outside of its doors as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, but you'd better make sure you're playing as Miles Morales if you want to do it.
If there's one thing you can't criticise Insomniac Games for, it's a lack of comic book appreciation. Spider-Man 2 is absolutely full to the brim with comic book references, whether that be the dozens of suits paying homage to Spider-Man stories both old and new, or the inclusion of certain villains that have never been portrayed in interactive media before. Certain parts of Spider-Man 2's story are also very reminiscient of different comic book runs.
Spider-Man 2 fans are wondering where the heck Taskmaster is during the events of the campaign, as he can be spotted on Kraven's hunting list but isn't seen or mentioned anywhere else.
has plenty of side content to explore across its New York map. These can be unlocked as the story progresses or via the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app and range from short stories of some of the city's residents to the appearance of classic Spider-Man foes.
Players who have recently beat may be eager for more and wondering what they can do now. The good news is there is still plenty of Spider-Man left for players to finish, and there may be even more in the near future. While the main story may be over, Peter Parker and Miles Morales still have plenty to do to prevent crime in New York.
