It's pretty much expected nowadays for the majority of the big fighting games to have some kind of cross-play support, what with them being primarily multiplayer focused experiences. Street Fighter 6 had crossplay at launch, as will Tekken 8 when that releases next year, but it seems like Mortal Kombat 1 fans will have to wait a little bit before they can go a few rounds with someone on a different platform.

Starfield players have discovered that the game doesn't render the sun if you have a Radeon AMD graphics card.

Reaping the live service whirlwind, Blizzard is in yet more hot water with Diablo 4 players after it was realised the popular action RPGs Battle Pass only pays out 666 Platinum upon completion, in keeping with the title's hellish marketing. This is not enough to purchase the next Season's Battle Pass or any cosmetic item, with the cheapest costing 800 Platinum (thanks, IGN), which is pretty wild when you stop to consider.

Four years after it was first revealed, Riot's anticipated fighting game Project L looks like it's almost ready to step into the spotlight. The studio dropped a new developer diary and gameplay trailer today showcasing Project L's 2v2 team-based gameplay, and announced that it will be playable at the upcoming Evo 2023 fighting game tournament.

The ESRB recently filed a request with the FTC seeking approval for a "verifiable parental consent mechanism" called Privacy-Protective Facial Age Estimation, which will enable people to use selfies to prove that they are actually adults who can legally provide parental consent to their children. It struck me and many others as not a great idea—literally inviting Big Brother into your home and all that—but in a statement sent to PC Gamer, the ESRB said the system is not actually facial recognition at all, and is «highly privacy protective.»

It's safe to say that the launch of Diablo 4's Season of the Malignant has been a bit of a disaster. A pre-season patch that nerfed pretty much every class and completely butchered Sorcerers caused widespread outrage amongst the community, becoming so bad that Blizzard had to address the issues in a developer livestream that took place last week. Fixes have been promised and the anger had been quelled slightly, but Diablo 4 players have already found something else to direct their ire towards - the game's Battle Pass.

If you were looking at the Platinum payouts on Diablo 4's battle pass and getting excited about buying a cosmetic from the shop with your haul, you're in for some disappointment. Instead of offering a practical amount of premium currency, Blizzard has gone for a joke amount: 666 Platinum. Oh you cheeky devils. The real joke, though, is that 666 Platinum is useless—not even enough to buy the cheapest item in the shop. 

Blizzard says it understands the frustration players have about Diablo 4's most recent patch, and promises it doesn't «plan on doing a patch like this ever again».

The Diablo 4 Battle Pass gives you enough Platinum to almost buy the cheapest item in the in-game store.
