In looking through the War Within customization data, one race stood out as a mystery--the Harronir. While we expected to see the Earthen Allied Race show up with many new customization descriptions, seeing so many options for the Harrionir took us by surprise. While we haven't encountered the Harronir in War Within announcements and demos so far, based on their appearances we suspect they might be a race we'll interact with in higher-level zones, with aesthetic elements reminiscent of Trolls, Elves, and Venthyr. No confirmation that they'll be a playable Allied Race, but in past expansions, NPC races with numerous customization options--think Nighborne or Vulpera--later became Allied Races. And while you can't play a Harronir in-game, you can create your own in our TWW Dressing Room, fully customize them, and dress them up in armor! Harronir Customizations in Dressing Room The Harronir customization options you see below are a promising start, but they'd still need some work to be a true Allied Race, as they're lacking some player-favorite options like a variety of hair styles or colors. Either way, we can't wait to see them in War Within and learn more about this shadowy race's backstory!

The Race to World First is finally over, which means it's time for the final RWF Recap Video with Dratnos & Tettles. Yesterday's video was missed due to Echo staying up until past 4am local time in their desperate attempt to kill the boss. Little did they know that neither they nor Liquid both would be unable to kill the boss before going to bed. This decision was prompted, in part, by a nerf which came in at about 9pm local time, which made them think an already killable boss was now in danger of dying in their sleep. That didn't come to pass, as Phase 3's final dance was exponentially more difficult than the start of the phase, leading to several sub 10% wipes by both Liquid and Echo culminating in several exciting hours of progress while both guilds were at 1.7% best pulls. Echo ended up securing the kill first with only milliseconds to spare before the raid would have died to a seed! Dratnos and Tettles agree that this was the best Race to World First so far, and can't wait for the competition to continue in The War Within! We hope you've enjoyed this coverage!

Today's RWF Recap starts with a quick look at the nerf Fyrakk received earlier today — 12% health taken off of the Phase 2 colossi, which were a massive pain point that were almost impossible to consistently beat, requiring 4 million DPS (between the two targets) to kill before they exploded. Now they «only» require 3.5 million DPS, which is still a massive check but is something that RWF guilds will be able to make a bit more consistent. Fyrakk's 3rd phase has been reached, technically first by Echo for a few seconds, and then more substantially by Liquid who saw the first overlaps of the phase and helped us learn a bit more about how the phase works. Echo, after reaching Phase 3, did «go dark» and turn off their streams and hide their progression details, as Liquid had done the day before. Dratnos and Tettles explain how this strategy makes sense for guilds that are in the lead, seeing a new phase, and about to go to bed, as they don't want to provide free information for their competition at a time when they're about to go to sleep and won't be able to make use of it themselves. Dratnos and Tettles agree this is a bit sad for the viewing experience but it's understandable and is a product of Liquid and Echo being so close to each other, which is in itself a great thing for the race!

It's likely Echo will wake up to Liquid being quite far ahead, but with the difficulty of Tindral, it's possible this race will continue for several more days and potentially even threaten to enter the third reset (a topic which will be covered tomorrow if the possibility increases!) Private Auras on Fyrakk are another topic of discussion in today's video, as they once again appear in the intermission, causing the guilds to program Macros to communicate with WeakAuras which then accomplish the same thing that they'd do if the mechanics weren't Private Auras. Dratnos and Tettles' position on this remains unchanged from Smolderon — they applaud the effort to get rid of mechanics being handled entirely by WeakAuras, but are skeptical that Private Auras are the solution, especially with the current Macro solutions that most players don't seem to enjoy using.

In a surprising move, China has delayed the launch of its highly anticipated Xuntian Space Telescope, reshaping the international competition to explore the mysteries of the cosmos. Originally scheduled for liftoff from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in southern China by the end of this year, Xuntian is now set for a mid-2025 launch. The postponement puts it in direct competition with the European Space Agency's Euclid and NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope.

Echo have finally killed Tindral Sageswift, ending their day after Dratnos and Tettles would normally record their recap video and forcing it to be cut a little shorter than usual! This means we'll be featuring full discussion of Fyrakk's Mythic changes on tomorrow's video, with today's focusing instead on the dynamics of the race. Liquid were able to smash through their reclear and engage Tindral, encountering a nasty set of overlaps at the end of the fight but powering through after several deep pulls that they were able to string together. Echo, on the other hand, needed a bit more time at the end of their day to put all the pieces together. After Liquid's Tindral, they still had some gas in the tank for some off-stream Fyrakk, while Echo had no need or desire to do the same since by the time Tindral was down, Liquid was already streaming Fyrakk. Dratnos has updated his prediction back to 70/30 in favor of Liquid this tier, though he notes that with Liquid's stream, Echo may be able to catch back up tomorrow and, with good play, potentially even overtake by the end of the raid day or the start of the next one. How much opportunity they'll have to convert that into a win will depend on how many pulls Fyrakk's final phases take, plus whether or not there's a Mythic-only phase (if there isn't, Dragonflight will be the first expansion to not have one in the modern era).

Today's RWF Recap video focuses on the weekly reset, which has hit Liquid already and will hit Echo once they wake up in a few hours! Liquid have made short work of their reclear and have gotten back to Tindral, with Echo and other RWF guilds expected to also face low resistance from the first 7 bosses on reclear due to their increased item level and the fact that the most difficult among those fights, Smolderon, is massively easier for guilds that have already killed it once they get more gear and can now kill again on a much less clean pull. Tindral, on the other hand, will not be trivialized by an extra reset of gear — though it will be easier than it was last reset! Primarily, this will be because of extra Stamina (which is maybe cancelled out by the removal of Vantus Runes), and extra damage on the roots allowing them to be broken faster and lowering the difficulty of some of the worst mechanical overlaps. This is certainly something but the primary pain points of the fight will remain brutally difficult, and we may well see Tindral crest the 500 pull count and join a very small set of end bosses in that tier. Fyrakk remains a huge question mark, with behind the scenes tuning landing to several abilities over the past week. We'll have to see what it looks like once the guilds actually reach it, but the numbers on some of the abilities are definitely daunting and may even mean we could see the race enter a 3rd reset if guilds can't get to Fyrakk early in this reset to get that progression started!

In today's RWF Recap, Dratnos and Tettles discuss the incredible difficulty of this boss and compare it to previous bosses of similar difficulty like Halondrus, as well as other penultimate bosses like Stone Legion Generals, Rygelon, and Fallen Avatar. Fallen Avatar holds the crown for pull counts in the modern era, but Tindral is hot on its heels and with a hundred or so more pulls could take the record. Further nerfs to the boss could of course interfere with that, but Dratnos and Tettles expect that those nerfs won't come until after Liquid and Echo have killed the boss. Though Tindral is certainly a difficulty outlier, it's unclear if that's a bad thing, as the majority of the players fighting the boss are having a good time. Bosses that are brutally difficult and unfun, like Stone Legion Generals, are certainly a problem, but when they're hard AND fun it's great! The difficulty, of course, needs to be carefully tweaked over the coming months to ensure that it's killable for the guilds reaching it later, to avoid the problems of the first few months of Seplucher which killed several guilds. The reset is now looming! Soon, RWF raiders will have to make sure they've completed their chores, like filling out their M+ Great Vault rows with +20s if possible, and completing the Campaign to earn another Enchanted Wyrm's Dreaming Crest for the Spark of Dreams that unlocks on the reset. Echo have also been pulling their sleep schedule backwards to enable the 5am start on Wednesday.

Echo joined Liquid on the boss early in their raid day, quickly dispatching Smolderon to remain competitive and making very quick progress through the first phase of T-Swift. Echo made some good use of Prophetic Stonescales, which they farmed last patch on M0, on 5 of their DPS players to see deeper into the fight, plus they had the benefit of Liquid's progress to look at. Tindral has proven to be an incredibly difficult boss on Mythic, due to new mechanics, Mythic changes that prevent the Heroic strategies from working, and the boss casting so many abilities back to back. The fight, however, was very well received by the RWF players, who praised its design and, from both Liquid and Echo, asked for it to not receive any nerfs. Blizzard has nerfed the fight though, taking 20% of the bosses' health off and also nerfing the Seeds (but only in P3). Dratnos and Tettles agree that this change is well aimed to shave difficulty off the fight while not invalidating progress that has already been made or tipping the scales in the race, though they empathize with the players who hoped to see it unchanged until it was killed. As we look forward to the second reset, the biggest mystery still is Fyrakk — will we see the boss tomorrow? Will it be tuned as hard or harder than Tindral? We can't wait to find out!

Today's Daily Recap video starts off with Smolderon's demise at the hands of <Liquid>, who took the boss down after 57 pulls of brutal progression. This kill, at the end of their raid night, allowed them to get started on some off stream Tindral experimentation which is always a very valuable bonus in the Race to World First, and sets them up as the frontrunners going into the final two bosses, though of course there could still be hundreds of pulls packed into those last two bosses! Tindral has turned out to be quite the challenging encounter, with its intensity buffed massively from PTR causing it to spam abilities and leading to nasty overlaps pretty much every few seconds. Liquid are making some slow progress through the start of the fight, though they were hindered briefly by a bug that required them to soft reset the instance, during which time they got some M+ done. Echo also ran into some technical difficulties after a frustrating progression plateau, reaching 5% on Smolderon before having a run of bad pulls that ended early in the fight, followed by their Holy Paladin disconnecting. They will need to kill that boss very quickly at the start of their next raid day to stay competitive in the race! The Race to World First has moved to Mythic difficulty, with both Liquid and Echo entering the raid after several days of splits! Following in the footsteps of <Instant Dollars>, Liquid made very short work of the first 6 bosses before reaching the enrage on Smolderon at 30% and breaking for Mythic Plus due to a bug on the encounter that would hinder further progress. Smolderon's Mythic mechanic also features the Private Auras technology, which in theory prevents guilds from using WeakAuras to automatically assign the four targets an order to soak their orbs. Unfortunately, in practice, the guilds are instead using a macro which then communicates with a WeakAura to accomplish the same thing with slightly more annoyance. Future guilds to fight this boss will almost all do the same, with varying speed of getting all 20 players to be properly set up, in a similar way to Mythic Echo of Neltharion. Dratnos and Tettles aren't thrilled with this state of affairs and hope that Blizzard will either find a way to combat this workaround or instead back off of turning mechanics like this into Private Auras. Finally, Dratnos and Tettles highlight some takes from Jet and Tagzz, urging people to remember the past a little more and not be too alarmed by the first 6 bosses falling so quickly — it's a normal thing for many raids, but we often forget about it by the time the next RWF rolls around!

xFrozen Sports has created the racing game of the year, Roblox Tank Race, with the unusual premise of racing extremely fast tanks. These war machines are more akin to F-Zero pods than actual military tanks. The devs have been posting codes to gift everyone some great items, all of which I’ll share here.

We've discovered new achievements associated with the Northrend Cup Dragonriding races on the Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 PTR! The actual world event was detailed last September alongside other old-world racing cups, and unfortunately the Northrend Cup isn't until April, though we at least have the Outland Cup starting this January to hold us over. Still, these achievements give us some idea of the upcoming races.

Today's Daily Recap video is hopefully the final one before the top Race to World First guilds enter mythic! Dratnos and Tettles begin by discussing the four bosses that have fallen on Mythic Difficulty, with <Instant Dollars> leading the way and smashing through them in impressively low pull counts. Over the next few days it'll be exciting to see how long they can hold onto the lead and if they'll be able to improve on their impressive World 7th from last tier! Liquid appear to be moving towards Mythic soon, as they near the end of their third day of progression and seem to have mostly finished up with splits, though Mythic Plus remains a valuable use of time that they're currently choosing to focus on. Echo still have a few heroic splits and a bunch of heroic Fyrakks to take care of when their third day begins, but they too may be able to enter Mythic by the end of that day. Splits remain a pain point in the Race to World First overall, with Echo's Rogerbrown posting about how he's made it a goal to get Blizzard to take action to get rid of them during the next expansion. Basically everyone agrees splits suck, but actually finding a solution that removes them without worse downsides for either the Race, everyone else, or both!

Today's RWF Recap video covers the exciting events of the start of the race — splits, of course! All RWF guilds began with splits, mostly focusing on clearing Normal first on all of their characters before graduating to heroic, where bosses like Nymue and Smolderon began to cause wipes for guilds making use of community helpers to get extra gear. Whether the extra time spent with these helpers to get more loot is worthwhile remains to be seen, but Dratnos thinks it probably is still very worthwhile due to the amount of ilvl that the guilds need to acquire. Mythic Gnarlroot has also fallen to <Blue Shoe> and <Honolulu>, with more guilds likely to begin killing it as they finish their work in the lower difficulties. The boss seems tuned to be a good bridge between the later heroic bosses and the mythic difficulty, but much remains unknown about how quickly the difficulty curve ramps up afterwards. Dratnos and Tettles also cover the controversy around Dream Wardens renown exploits, including characters in RWF guilds that were rolled back and had the rewards removed from their inventories. Dratnos thinks this is a fair and proportionate punishment and hopes that Blizzard will work to establish a consistent pattern of enforcement that makes it very predictable which types of exploits will be actioned and which will be allowed.

The top World of Warcraft guilds will race through a series of challenges as they make their way to the top of Amirdrassil and the ultimate showdown that waits for them. Who will cross the finish line to claim World First!

The Amirdrassil Race to World First is about to get underway! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day, starting today with a video focused on predictions and discussion of what to expect over the next few days. Echo have started the RWF news cycle off with a bang, announcing a move to the NA servers of some kind! What exactly this means is the subject of much speculation, we'll have to see exactly what they are planning. This tier will feature a 39 item level increase, which is larger than the usual 26 that we've had for the past few expansions. This, combined with evidence that the guilds have been creating more characters in the leadup to this race, makes Dratnos and Tettles think that we're potentially going to be in for more splits than before, as there's more gear needed and a more difficult Heroic raid (due to being lower ilvl) that will force RWF guilds to play more raiders and less helpers. Dratnos and Tettles close the video with predictions, such as the number of Melee on the Fyrakk kill, the number of Evokers on the Fyrakk kill, and which guild will claim World First.

According to recent reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will refresh its entire iPad lineup next year. At this stage, it is unclear which iPad models will be the first to receive upgrades. Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will first announce the OLED iPad Pro next year. It is now being reported that Apple will begin OLED panel production next year.

The roster of races available in character creation is lifted straight from the for the fifth edition of the tabletop game, with a couple of interesting additions to flesh out the roster in a way that's relevant to the story and flavor of the game. Other interesting races that aren't typically playable appear in NPC form, from the memorably devious kobolds to the mindflayers that play a major role in the narrative.

includes a variety of races, but some of the ways they interact with each other in hostile manners don't have an immediately clear reason. Creating Tav as different races opens up the option to use race specific dialogue, but it also changes how other NPCs view the main character. However, a lot of the context as to why this is the case is found across the editions of and in the changes to the Forgotten Realm over time.
