Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion – Female Hrothgar race, Pictomancer job, and more announced

A planned live-action adaptation of MMO Final Fantasy XIV is officially “dead”, according to the TV series’ producers. A combination of the pandemic and the “size and scale needed to do it right” are apparently to blame, with Amazon reportedly coming closest to making it a reality - but to no avail.

The president of Japanese publishing giant Square Enix, Takashi Kiryu, has said he wants his company's output to be more diverse.

Square Enix appears to be on the verge of shaking up its development portfolio. According to its president, we may soon see fewer titles, but a more diverse array of genres coming out of a developer and publisher traditionally known for its massive RPG franchises.
