As someone that got into Dragon Quest relatively recently with 2018's Echoes of an Elusive Age, I've long looked for an excuse to play through the game that started it all. Everyone's favorite Trashmaster made an appearance, and we got some new insight into him — Jani is back! The Loa of Scavengers plays a pivotal role in helping the Darkspear recover their lost Loa. Leading us to Kevo ya Siti and providing us with only the most convenient of trash piles, without Jani, it's entirely possible that the long lost Loa would've remained that way — and the Darkspear would run the risk of falling under the influence of Mueh'zala. What players may have missed, though, is the lore we received about Jani over the course of the quests.
