In a new interview with PlayStation Blog, director Naoki Hamaguchi said the team emphasized “exploration-focused game design” and wanted to “create that feeling of going on a journey while traveling around the world in pursuit of evidence of Sephiroth’s movements.”

As has been the case with all mainline Final Fantasy games in recent years, the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is going to be exclusive to PlayStation at launch, though its exclusivity window for Sony’s console won’t last as long as it has done for the last couple of Final Fantasy games.
