Hot skippidy Nimbus, it’s actually happening. Destiny 2 is getting hoverboards. Announced in one of Bungie’s This Week in Destiny communications, and alongside a snazzy-looking trailer, the new vehicle type will be a part of 2024’s Guardian Games event.

The games joining the PS Plus roster for March have been revealed, and there are four new titles coming if you've got an active subscription. Sifu, Hello Neighbour 2, EA Sports FC 23, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen are set to arrive on the service on March 5. This also means it's time to say goodbye to the last batch as well. 

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus games for March 2024; four games will be available to active PlayStation Plus members starting March 5 through April 1.

Four new games will be added to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s PlayStation Plus lineup come March 5: EA Sports F1 23, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Sifu, and Hello Neighbor 2. All four games will be available to PS Plus subscribers from March 5 to April 1.

The March 2024 PlayStation Plus monthly games have been confirmed, with Sony’s announcement following up on a leak earlier today. The leak pin pointed PlayStation console exclusive Sifu as one of this month’s trio, but what else is on the list?

With Helldivers 2's severs holding firm, developer Arrowhead Game Studios is ready to return to its "original plan" for the shooter.

Notable, from a PlayStation perspective, is another surprising feat developer Arrowhead achieved in terms of PC dominance: more concurrents than the peak player count of every single PlayStation PC port released on Steam so far.

Helldivers 2 is the 2024 hit no one saw coming – well, at least since Palworld, anyway. The game just keeps getting bigger and bigger on PC, where it’s now surpassed Destiny 2’s all-time peak players total by attracting 333k concurrent users overnight. It’s worth noting that with PS5 owners added in, the game’s highs are even higher.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios has said it will be releasing updates on PS5 and PC this week that aim to tackle the "most serious problems" the game is currently facing, including login, matchmaking, and server load. The first of these fixes will arrive tomorrow, February 20, but Arrowhead wants us to remember that "no single update will solve all the issues."

Waves of players are attempting to spread democracy and bash robots in co-op shooter Helldivers 2, catapulting the game to record-breaking success, as the sequel has now passed the concurrent PC player peaks of the biggest PlayStation or Xbox-owned releases.

Helldivers 2 has passed the Steam concurrent player count for Starfield and Destiny 2 and is easily Sony's best-performing game on Steam.

Helldivers 2 is off to a great start as it has already passed the all-time Steam concurrents of games like Destiny 2 and Starfield alongside being a PlayStation console exclusive. However, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has said those massive amounts of players are causing server capacity issues it is working "without delay" to fix.

Plenty has been said about Destiny 2‘s many, many ups and downs in the year of Lightfall. Even though Bungie hasn’t prepared the strongest of send-offs with the Season of the Wish, better updates are on the way, and Update 7.3.5, in particular, could be an interesting showpiece.

Those who adore retro fighting and arcade games should check out this month’s Capcom Humble Bundle. It provides 70 games, including Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Final Fight, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Darkstalkers: The Night Walkers, and many more Capcom titles.

Bungie has been uncharacteristically generous as of late. At first glance, it seems that Destiny 2 players are eating well. But Bungie’s change of pace doesn’t read like its usual exchange for goodwill — something that especially rings true when looking at the state of the studio. 

For prospective Destiny 2 players looking to pick up the game before The Final Shape releases, now’s your chance. Humble Bundle is offering a bundle called Destiny 2: The Story So Far, and it includes every expansion plus a few extras for $40. 

Bungie has confirmed in its Feb. 1 “This Week in Destiny” newsletter that it’s finally ending its four-year partnership with Prime Gaming. Since January 2020, Bungie has released a monthly package containing free shaders, sparrows, emotes, and other cosmetics that Amazon Prime members can redeem for free. The 49th and final Prime Gaming exotic package will include a timed-exclusive shader and will be available through Mar. 7, so make sure to log in and claim your rewards before they leave for good.

Over at Humble, you can get all caught up on the past six years of Destiny 2 expansions for just $20 (the base game is free over on Steam). This price includes Steam keys for the Forsaken Pack, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack, The Witch Queen, and Lightfall, the most recent expansion. It’s a heck of a deal for anyone who’s been waiting for a deal to see all of the new content Bungie has added to its first-person online shooter since it launched.

It’s healthy to be skeptical when you see microtransactions in games. Many titles cross the line from fair to exploitative, all but forcing players to throw in money that could buy another full game (or more) to actually have a good time. So when initial reports surfaced about Helldivers 2’s microtransactions, people were wary. At first glance, the now-popular live-service shooter utilizes some familiar strategies. There are both free and premium battle passes that feature items that can affect gameplay and a number of currencies to parse out. Plus, there wasn’t a roadmap released at launch, so it was tough to gauge how horrible any microtransactions could be.

SomeStar Wars fans believe Anakin Skywalker can never be fully redeemed for his evil actions as Darth Vader, even though he sacrificed himself in an attempt to make amends in Return of the Jedi.

Though Destiny 2‘s Season 23 narrative is more or less concluded, there are still some new rewards inbound for the game. Bungie has revealed that a new suite of weapons will soon arrive for pinnacle activities. And players will have plenty of time, even through The Final Shape, to earn them.

Had your eye on that Destiny 2 Exotic weapon ornament or emote but find yourself Bright Dust poor? There is no need to despair or mindlessly grind out Bounties. Bungie announced it will start giving away Bright Dust for free every week beginning in March.

Even though sunsetting has technically stopped being a thing in Destiny 2 in 2022, the concept is still looming over the game’s proverbial head thanks to its long-term effects. Notably, the community still wishes for some of Destiny 2‘s vaulted content to return, with Black Armory spearheading the list.

Margaret Weis, who with Tracy Hickman is responsible for the beloved Dragonlance Chronicles series of Dungeons & Dragons novels, has confirmed to Polygon that a secretive project to create a streaming television series set in the world of Krynn will not move forward. The news broke Wendesday at ComicBook.com, and included an emotional interview with its champion, actor Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Justice League).

It’s no secret that 2023 is not ’s strongest year. However, the last 30 days have been exceptionally bad, with the game experiencing an all-time low of players on Steam. Data on the game’s console players are harder to come by. However, its poor Steam performance could indicate broader problems for Bungie.

Bungie has revealed more details about Destiny 2‘s upcoming expansion, The Final Shape. This time around, the studio has provided details about three new Light subclass Supers and Aspects that will be making their way into the game with the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Each class in Destiny 2—Titan, Hunter and Warlock—is getting a new Super.

After a chaotic week, things are back to normal in Destiny.

Bungie had a wild start to the week and not in a good way.

An increase in Destiny 2 error code encounters earlier this week was caused by DDoS attacks, says developer Bungie. The attacks caused some players to be unable to log in or stay connected, and got worse over September 18 and 19—by the evening of the 19th many couldn't play at all.

If Destiny 2 disconnects and error codes have been interrupting your playtime lately, you’re not alone, but Bungie confirms that these are not due to the rollout of updates. Instead, the developer behind the multiplayer space FPS game says these Destiny 2 issues are the result of malicious DDoS attacks, which have placed “added pressure” on the game’s infrastructure.

Destiny 2 developer Bungie is battling to fix a massive crafting glitch that let players make god-tier weapons — and now it’s facing down distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

Hunter's Remembrance is a new Exotic quest in Season of the Witch. This will allow Guardians to earn the Exotic Bow Wish-Ender. The previous method introduced in the expansion was removed upon the release of. Wish-Ender is a fantastic Exotic Bow that sits in the Kinetic slot. This weapon has built-in Anti-Barrier capabilities and can over-penetrate multiple targets. Wish-Ender is a great weapon that any Guardian should have as an option for high-level activities.

Having spent a good few hours with The First Descendant on PS5 — ahead of its open beta release later this month — we're happy to report that this free-to-play shooter seems to have a solid base to build upon. Very reminiscent of Destiny in terms of structure, we didn't quite have time to dig into finer details, but the gameplay clicked almost immediately thanks to buttery smooth controls and a near constant supply of loot (even if we did end up spending a touch too much time rummaging through equipment menus).

The weekend of September 15, 2023 may well go down as the most game-breaking period in Destiny 2's long and storied history of truly MMO-grade cheese. 

As almost every active Destiny 2 player will know, the game has had a heck of a weekend thanks to what is easily the most ridiculous and fun bug in franchise history. Notably, the game’s weapon customization/crafting system somehow ended up allowing players to build mish-mashed monster-guns. A particularly egregious example, just to illustrate the ridiculousness of the bug, was to slot the Aggressive Shotgun Frame onto a grenade launcher, allowing said launcher to simultaneously fire a dozen grenades all at once.

While Destiny 2’s Season 22 has some key wins, a change is coming with the start of Season 23. A balance must be maintained that makes all elements of the game enjoyable for everyone. However, Legendary Shards have consistently presented a challenge in achieving this balance. The vast discrepancy in acquiring these shards has led to inequality among players. The result is an in-game economy where Legendary Shards don’t feel significant to some or attainable for others, regardless of their play habits. This, coupled with the constant exploitation of loopholes in the Shard acquisition process, has propelled the developers to take a decisive step toward simplifying the game’s economy. 

Destiny 2 developer Bungie has announced plans to temporarily disable players from using crafted weapons in a bid to get on top of an in-game glitch.

It's always a challenge managing a meticulously crafted MMO sandbox, but Destiny 2's eternal struggle for a meta no one will whine about has been absolutely turned on its head by yesterday's discovery of Frankenguns. Thanks to a crafting glitch, players have been churning out ungodly firearm chimeras to melt raid bosses in seconds. Bungie's taken it in stride,  acknowledging the absurd fun of it all, but is also quickly rolling out a fix to bring all those wacky guns to heel.

Destiny 2 is one of the most unique space games around, offering a multiplayer experience among the stars. With steady content updates and expansions, Bungie has kept its interstellar experience alive over the years with a dedicated community always in search of new gameplay and lore. With a game as popular as Destiny 2, bugs and exploits are sure to pop up here and there. The most recent one is a weapon exploit allowing you to absolutely demolish bosses with overpowered perks.

There must be an almost erotic thrill to eliminating an entire currency at the click of a button. That's what is going to happen in Destiny 2 at the end of November when Season 23 launches. Bungie today announced that it will be completely deprecating Legendary Shards, which are a material used to pay for all sorts of items in the game. Unlike previous material deprecations, the studio also said that it will not be offering anything by way of compensation. Legendary Shards are just going to be gone.

Every Destiny 2 player I know is either constantly strapped for Legendary Shards or utterly incapable of spending them fast enough, and between this wealth gap and the comically frequent Legendary Shard dupes, Bungie's gotten so sick of the currency that it's straight-up deleting it in The Final Shape after six years of – say it carefully – Sharding.

The latest and final planned Destiny 2 expansion, The Final Shape, launches Feb. 27. The pre-order format for this expansion follows the same structure as previous tentpole launches for Destiny 2, like Beyond Light, Witch Queen, Lightfall, and Shadowkeep.

Given that Destiny 2‘s Raids are its pinnacle-level content, featuring both mechanical and statistical difficulties, it is fairly self-evident that Raid bosses, too, ought to be equally impressive in more ways than not. Challenging, imposing, and memorable, Raid bosses are supposed to serve as the final obstacle to loot and other assorted goodies, but is that always the case? Or have some Raid bosses become overhyped Strike targets rather than top-end world-ending threats?

Exotic and Legendary vendor Xur has returned to Bungie’s Destiny 2, hanging out in the Arcadian Valley on Nessus until the next weekly reset. He’s selling Crimson, the Exotic hand cannon which went on sale two weeks prior, for 29 Legendary Shards. It’s a good time to pick it up, though several other weapons outclass it in PvE and PvP.

In a precedent-setting move, a judge has issued a legal permaban to one Destiny 2 cheat creator, on top of ordering them to pay a whopping $500,000 in copyright damages. ArsTechnica reported on a recent consent judgment between Bungie and teenage cheater Luca Leone, wherein both parties agreed to the aforementioned court ruling. Bungie claimed that Leone’s leveraging of cheat software constitutes Destiny 2 copyright infringement via graphical overlays and injected code, and the court has provided an assessment that this does, indeed, make for “unauthorized derivative work.”

Bungie’s Destiny 2 has received a new update, providing various fixes and changes. However, it also adds a heavily requested feature. Whenever you win a match in Trials of Osiris, there’s now a “high chance” to receive a non-Adept Trials weapon. This should go a long way to make the experience more rewarding for some players.

A year ago, Bungie sued a Destiny 2 player over allegations of cheating at the game and harassing the studio's employees. Now, it seems that this player is going to have to pay $500,000 and will be permanently barred from ever playing a Bungie game again.

The reprised Crota's End raid in Challenge Mode boasted Destiny 2's lowest first-day clearance rate in four years.

Ready for more Diablo 4? I hope so, because that's what you're getting. At least, that seems to be the takeaway from a recent Dexerto interview with Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson, in which the Blizzard VIP happened to mention, offhandedly, that Diablo 4 is apparently going for a model based on quarterly seasons and annual expansions. I guess you could call it destiny.

Put those Tractor Cannons away, Guardians. The Crota’s End contest mode has come to a close, and players can now go back to using the full extent of their abilities and armory. The 48-hour contest mode for the returning  Destiny Raid addressed Bungie’s former promise to bring difficult content back to Destiny 2 . And it didn’t disappoint. That said, with contest mode ended, players should once again have little trouble toppling the son of Oryx.

AmidStarfield’s early access release, another sci-fi title has seen the return of its “favorite” vendor. Xur is available in Bungie’s Destiny 2, hanging out in the EDZ before the weekly reset. He’s carrying some interesting Exotics, including the Prometheus Lens.

Expect weapons to be more than just DPS machines when The Final Shape expansion launches in 2024.

Recently, my Destiny 2 clanmates and I took the healthy and responsible decision not to participate in the next raid race. The way things work in Destiny 2 is that for the first 48 hours of any new or reprised raid a modifier called 'Contest Mode' is active, during which time player power is capped 20 levels under the enemies in each encounter. Result: you deal less damage and take much more. For those who don't have a well-drilled fireteam and meta loadouts, the experience is bracing—particularly as fatigue creeps in, and the tempers of old gamers with decaying thumb skill begin to fray. 

Though the reveal of Destiny 2: The Final Shape certainly could’ve done with an extra banger or two, Bungie is now seemingly on a bit of a path toward redemption with the Destiny community after the failures of the Lightfall DLC. The studio’s hype machine for the 2024 DLC is already ramping up, though, and an all-new interview held by the Game Director, Joe Blackburn, shed additional light on next year’s grand release.

Titans have never had a hard time in  Destiny 2 , per se, but it’s been a while since they’ve felt as good as a  new Strand Aspect  makes the class feel. Season 22 debuts the Banner of War Titan, and it’s a force to be reckoned with. Not only does the Aspect lock in a constant stream of healing and buffs, but it is also almost infinitely customizable. Players can easily combine the Banner of War effects alongside their favorite Exotic weapons and armor. And, best of all, it fulfills the Titan power fantasy, encouraging Guardians to get right in the face of their enemies. 

The original Destiny storyline opened following the collapse of a vast Terran civilization at the hands of an invading, amorphous Darkness and its various alien accomplices - an advance stymied only by a benevolent Big Dumb Object known as the Traveller. It cast you as an ancient warrior, resurrected by a flying robot to reclaim humankind's old dominions together with their antique, storied weapons and gear. So much of its appeal for me, back in 2014, was the mystique of that reclamation process, bolstered by alternately zany, obnoxious, fragmentary and/or intriguing writing that expanded upon the viral mythological element in Halo.

Savathun is the queen of secrets and lies in Destiny 2. She’s held many answers close to her chest, intent on making sure none of them left her before she could claim some type of reward. What’s fitting is that while exploring Savathun’s Spire during Destiny 2’s Season of the Witch, there are secret chests for you to track down as you explore this activity with your Fireteam.

Laying out Destiny 2's long-smoldering Crucible woes, game director Joe Blackburn says the studio was at one point unsure of the viability of PvP altogether because it hadn't "seen it move the needle."

It's been two weeks since the mood music in Destiny 2 got so bad that game director Joe Blackburn took to his personal Twitter to deliver a video message addressing various community complaints and concerns. For a studio that tends to deal in lengthy blog posts, such a personal approach only underlined the perceived urgency of the situation. Ironically, the latest meltdown had been triggered by one such 'State of the Game' post, which, rather than allaying concerns, had air-dropped petrol onto them.

Over the years, Bungie’s seminal live-service FPS Destiny 2 has received no less than seven major pieces of post-launch DLC, with at least one more – The Final Shape – due to come out next year, in 2024. Pre-order bonuses are a point of contention among gamers, no matter the title. Ultimately, extras like this feed off players’ ‘FOMO’ as if a product is digital; it’s not like stocks can run out. Bungie has locked the shiny new Tessellation Exotic Fusion Rifle behind a pre-order of the Final Shape DLC for Destiny 2. Unfortunately for Bungie, Guardians are a clever bunch and have found a way to get around the DLC down payment. Here’s the scoop.

Though Bungie recently left players just whelmed after The Final Shape reveal, the initial response to Season of the Witch seems to be a win. Alongside general weapon and armor changes and new Strand Aspects, Destiny 2 ‘s Season 22 adds a new Artifact with some interesting accompanying Artifact Mods. This season’s Mods stray away from the former practice to spotlight a couple of subclasses with powerful effects. Instead, players can enjoy almost any subclass with a new seasonal gameplay focus on Tangles and Elemental Orbs.
