The March 2024 PlayStation Plus monthly games have been confirmed, with Sony’s announcement following up on a leak earlier today. The leak pin pointed PlayStation console exclusive Sifu as one of this month’s trio, but what else is on the list?
Making a break from the norm there’s actually four games this month, available from the first Tuesday, 5th March.
Yup, the always reliable billbil-kun from Dealabs got the scoop on one of the free titles once again – what is their secret? Are they actually Jim Ryan in disguise? – and that correctly predicted that Sifu would be one of this month’s three games.
Let’s see what we had to say in our.. oh dear… 4/10 review.
“Sifu is a game that I wanted to love,” begins Jason. “I had high hopes for it being one of my game of the year contenders, but it left me feeling intensely deflated instead. It’s a game that confuses the precise mechanical difficulty of Sekiro with a forced difficulty brought on by simply giving bosses armour. I find myself irrationally angry with Sifu. Sifu is a game that had exceptional potential, but squandered it on the wrong lessons.”
Well, let’s be generous and note that other reviewers were more enamoured with it. The game has also been out for two years and has had plenty of updates since then including free Arenas that added tens of hours of gameplay.
Then there’s F1 23, the most recent game in the motorsports series. Codemasters have actually just announced F1 24’s release date, but with the F1 season starting this weekend, it makes a lot of sense to give out last year’s game with PS Plus. In our F1 23 review, I said it’s “a good evolutionary step forward for the series. The returning Braking Point story mode offers an enjoyable narrative with mixed up racing challenges, while F1 World brings together solo challenges, multiplayer events and car evolution in an interesting, if not yet essential way.”
If you’d rather some stealth horror shenanigans, then Hello Neighbour 2 might be more your jam, as you try to investigate Raven Brook and all the secrets that its inhabitants are hiding.
And as a bonus game, Sony’s chucked in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. It’s not the most recent edition of the long-running online looter shooter, but this was a real high point for the game with a great story to follow. Back in 2022, Tuff said, “there’s a hell of a lot to do and the maps are the biggest we have seen in Destiny by a long way. The Witch Queen Guaranteed to keep fans busy for many hours.”
You can still grab this months titles, which are:
Foamstars is the big ticket game here, with Square Enix creating a fun looking, and bubbly 4v4 shooter. Yes, yes, it’s a bit like Splatoon, but there’s a few unique twists here, like being able to use your foam guns to
