A PlayStation 5 player shared a funny screenshot of the console's interface seemingly threatening them with a PS Plus reminder notification. It seemed like the typical reminder that their PS Plus subscription was almost up, but the way the text was cut off in the push notification gave it a whole new meaning.
PS Plus is a paid subscription service for PlayStation gamers, primarily offering online multiplayer play and free game downloads from both an evergreen library of PS5, PS4, and classic PS1 to PS3 titles, as well as a rotating monthly slate. The service also has other benefits, such as free two-hour trials of new major releases, discounts on the PlayStation Store, and tips and hints for certain games that are accessible anytime by hitting the PS button.
A user named sernamesarehard69 shared a photo over on the PlayStation subreddit in which the PS Plus notification said «You've got until 5 March,» and nothing more. The full text was likely that they had until that date to enjoy their PS Plus subscription unless they resubscribe to the service, but the unfortunate cutting of the text made it take a hilariously sinister and ominous tone. A fellow Redditor in the comments joked, «First the layoffs, now the slayoffs,» referring to the recent mass downsizing around the gaming industry, especially the firings at Sony subsidiary Insomniac Games.
Meanwhile, for those who are still subscribed to the service, the new PS Plus games coming in March 2024 will be live to download and play on Tuesday, March 5. The notable titles here are the highly acclaimed 2022 beat-em-up title Sifu and stealth horror game Hello Neighbor 2. Destiny 2 players who don't have The Witch Queen will be able to download it in Marchas well. Motorsport fans can also enjoy EA Sports F1 23, which got good reviews when it was released back in 2023.
While the monthly titles are nice to have, the real draw of a PS Plus subscription is the aforementioned vast library of free PlayStation games, which includes classics like Marvel's Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and much more. The rotating monthly games can be hit or miss, which is why the vault of classics is really what's worth the price of admission, especially for those who don't get to buy major releases at launch.
The Sony PlayStation 5 console is one of the most popular gaming machines currently with a fast SSD, a custom AMD APU, and 16GB of GDDR6 console memory, making it one of the best options on the market. It also happens to have a surprising number of console exclusives and currently trades at a discount at multiple retailers nationwide.

If there’s one thing PlayStation Plus Premium is missing it’s a good library of PS2 classics.
