Bungie’s Destiny 2 has received several collaborations over the past few years, from Mass Effect to The Witcher and even PlayStation Studios franchises like God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon. However, its next is probably the most surprising yet – Ghostbusters.

A Destiny 2 fan has based their guardian on the Silver Surfer after getting their hands on the game’s new Skimmer hoverboard. The hoverboards are the latest class of vehicles within Destiny 2 that gives gamers the ability to pull off stunts as they explore each of the planets within the solar system.

A Destiny 2 datamine suggests that the game could be crossing over with the iconic Ghostbusters franchise in the near future. Previously, Destiny 2 collaborated with the likes of Assassin's Creed, Arknights, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima to name a few.

With the brand new exotic Skimmer now live in game, Destiny 2 players find a lot to love with this vehicle showing off what it can do. It was a big week in Destiny 2, with the highly anticipated Update 7.3.5 finally launching after weeks of teases and explanations from Bungie. The patch makes massive sandbox changes to activities like the Crucible, while also tweaking weapons, exotics, and abilities.

What's better than traversing space on a cool hoverbike in Destiny 2? Travesing space on a sci-fi skateboard, obviously. 

A recent Destiny 2 leak hints at the return of two legendary guns. Destiny 2's next big content release is the mysterious Into the Light update, which appears to be reintroducing a wealth of fresh content into the looter-shooter game. Even though details about Into the Light are still fuzzy, it's being speculated that the upcoming update will bring back some old weapons and campaign missions.

Former Bungie employee and composer for the Halo franchise, Marty O'Donnell, has announced his intention to run for congress in the United States. O'Donnell is best known for his work composing the Halo soundtracks and the original Destiny alongside Michael Salvatori, which came to a swift end following his termination in April 2014.

Sony has confirmed it's cancelled «some» unannounced games at PlayStation Studios, and according to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, one of them is the long-rumoured Twisted Metal game from Firesprite. The journalist reports the project was in «early development» and hadn't been greenlit by Sony to go into full production yet, according to a source.

Yep, in a bid to try and drum up some excitement for the shooter's upcoming seasonal stuff, Bungie has revealed that hoverboards — or 'skimmers', a new form of transportation — will be made available to all players. Bungie reveals new details for Destiny 2's returning Guardian Games event, including all the new gear to be earned, medals to acquire, and a brand-new vehicle type called the skimmer board. Guardian Games in Destiny 2 is an Olympic-inspired event created to foster competition between the three classes: Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans. During the three-week event, players earn medals that they can deposit into the Tower Podium for their class with the one winning the most earning a special trophy that remains on display for the following year.

Recent leaks claimed that Sloclap’s Sifu would be free with PlayStation Plus in March, and that has now been officially confirmed. Sony has confirmed that the acclaimed kung fu brawler will be one of four new titles that will be free-to-claim for subscribers of PlayStation Plus tiers for next month.

A renowned Destiny 2 player named Cruz who has won a total of four World First Raid races has been banned permanently by Bungie following allegations of cheating. Destiny 2's World First races are some of the biggest events for the game thanks to their view count on streaming platforms, where fans gather to see several clans trying to become the first ever to beat a new Dungeon.

Helldivers 2's lead developer Johan Pilestedt seems open to a crossover with Destiny, saying that it would "make sense" for the setting. He even tagged Bungie in his comment, perhaps in a bid to see if the studio would be open to arranging some kind of collaboration for the two games.

Bungie has revealed its plans to overhaul its PvP modes in Destiny 2. Aside from some highly-requested quality-of-life updates, Bungie is implementing some notable changes to Destiny 2's Crucible Labs, Trials of Osiris, and matchmaking.

In Bungie's weekly Destiny 2 blog update, the developer revealed that the Prophecy Dungeon is seeing weapons added and removed from the loot pool alongside a brand new Origin Trait called Crossing Over. Since returning from holiday break, Bungie has typically used its weekly blog posts to outline major changes it has planned for Destiny 2 in the months before The Final Shape launches. March is going to be a particularly big month for fans as Bungie prepares a big mid-season update full of sandbox changes, buffs, nerfs, as well as offering Destiny 2 players a free weekly gift of Bright Dust.

It had gotten fairly hard to keep track of Destiny 2‘s many ups and downs in the year of Lightfall. From catastrophic layoffs to Bungie’s emergency-button rollout of long-anticipated new features, there’s whiplash trying to parse it all for the average player.

Sony president and PlayStation chairman Hiroki Totoki has said Bungie could be better at assuming responsibility for its development timelines.

Bungie has not been in the greatest spot as of late. The game just keeps getting bigger and bigger on PC, where it’s now surpassed Destiny 2’s all-time peak players total by attracting 333k concurrent users overnight. It’s worth noting that with PS5 owners added in, the game’s highs are even higher.

One creative member of the Destiny 2 community has managed to perfect an outfit for their Hunter to make them resemble Minecraft's iconic and explosive Creeper mob. The vast range of cosmetic options and outfit color combinations in Destiny 2often leads to some impressive character customization from the game's community, and this isn't the first time players have created their own custom outfits inspired by other franchises throughout the world of gaming.

A Destiny 2player has shared their affection for a different game about defending humanity from marauding aliens: Helldivers 2. Using the array of character customization options available in Destiny 2, they created a close replica of the uniform worn by the soldiers of Super Earth in Helldivers 2.

Helldivers 2 is refusing to slow down. Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably heard plenty of chatter of the impressive numbers the game is consistently posting on Steam in particular, and that’s because it keeps hitting new milestones. Just recently, the co-op shooter crossed a peak of over 276,000 concurrent players on the platform, surpassing Halo Infinite’s all-time peak in doing so, and it’s now overtaken a couple more megatons.

Plenty has been said about Destiny 2‘s many, many ups and downs in the year of Lightfall. Even though Bungie hasn’t prepared the strongest of send-offs with the Season of the Wish, better updates are on the way, and Update 7.3.5, in particular, could be an interesting showpiece.

Bungie is all set to make some significant changes to the PvP sandbox of Destiny 2, alongside a plethora of other tweaks to abilities, weapons, and more. While the Destiny 2 update is still a few weeks away, the developers have given a comprehensive overview of what fans can expect from it, as the game prepares for the release of Into The Light in April.

This March, a new Destiny 2 update will bring a lengthy list of ability changes as Bungie prepares the in-game sandbox for the launch of The Final Shape in June. The changes will target overperforming abilities, including Threaded Specter, while balancing and fixing other abilities for various subclasses in Destiny 2.

Bungie has been uncharacteristically generous as of late. At first glance, it seems that Destiny 2 players are eating well. But Bungie’s change of pace doesn’t read like its usual exchange for goodwill — something that especially rings true when looking at the state of the studio.

Despite the “fire” in its name, it’s a Void sword. Go figure.

Bungie released Destiny 2 update 7.3.4.2 with various adjustments and changes to the Chivalric Fire ritual weapon, Stormcaller Warlocks, and the Riven's Wishes activity. The latest Destiny 2 update lets players reacquire Chivalric Fire from Collections, but the community may want to wait until a future update before pulling the ritual weapon.

An entertaining game-themed cake made for a fan of Destiny 2 has delighted the community. The homemade cake, made for the recipient's birthday, creatively uses a Destiny 2 Titan action figure and its accessories to make for an amusing scene.

Destiny 2 has launched its newest collaboration, this one with Mass Effect. Destiny 2 fans can currently claim the Alliance Requisitions Bundle for free and purchase additional Mass Effect-themed content through the in-game Eververse store.

Bungie has confirmed in its Feb. 1 “This Week in Destiny” newsletter that it’s finally ending its four-year partnership with Prime Gaming. Since January 2020, Bungie has released a monthly package containing free shaders, sparrows, emotes, and other cosmetics that Amazon Prime members can redeem for free. The 49th and final Prime Gaming exotic package will include a timed-exclusive shader and will be available through Mar. 7, so make sure to log in and claim your rewards before they leave for good.

Over at Humble, you can get all caught up on the past six years of Destiny 2 expansions for just $20 (the base game is free over on Steam). This price includes Steam keys for the Forsaken Pack, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light, the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack, The Witch Queen, and Lightfall, the most recent expansion. It’s a heck of a deal for anyone who’s been waiting for a deal to see all of the new content Bungie has added to its first-person online shooter since it launched.

Although Season of the Wish has become much longer than players anticipated due to the Final Shape delay, Bungie is attempting to keep players busy with new content, such as activities like the upcoming Guardian Games or Into The Light event, but the company is also handing out more free gifts than it typically has in the past.

Though Destiny 2‘s Season 23 narrative is more or less concluded, there are still some new rewards inbound for the game. Bungie has revealed that a new suite of weapons will soon arrive for pinnacle activities. And players will have plenty of time, even through The Final Shape, to earn them.

Had your eye on that Destiny 2 Exotic weapon ornament or emote but find yourself Bright Dust poor? There is no need to despair or mindlessly grind out Bounties. Bungie announced it will start giving away Bright Dust for free every week beginning in March.

Bungie announces a new reward for Destiny 2 players where they can earn Bright Dust each week starting on March 5 simply by going to the Eververse store in-game. With Season of the Wish's storyline now complete, Bungie's new challenge will be keeping players invested over the next few months. Originally, the anticipated Final Shape expansion was set to launch later this month, but an unfortunate delay pushed those plans out into June, leaving Destiny 2 players with a sizable content drought and a much longer season than was planned.

Even though sunsetting has technically stopped being a thing in Destiny 2 in 2022, the concept is still looming over the game’s proverbial head thanks to its long-term effects. Notably, the community still wishes for some of Destiny 2‘s vaulted content to return, with Black Armory spearheading the list.

Some Destiny 2 players are hoping that Bungie will add three armor sets that have long existed in the franchise but are not obtainable when The Final Shape launches. With every new season of Destiny 2, Bungie has added new armor sets to the first-person shooter to the point where the game has a massive collection for players to choose from. Whether it is Strikes, Crucible, Iron Banner, or raids, almost every activity in the game has an armor set that players can chase after.

Destiny 2 fashion aficionados, you have something to get pumped about before The Final Shape. That’s because, arguably, the best weapon shader is returning to the game via the upcoming Riven’s Wishes content. I’m talking about Twilight Keepsake, the matte black one. So, while you may have all the Starcats and every Wish-Keeper Catalyst, there’s still something to look forward to during the next expansion’s lengthy delay. It’s especially true for anyone who missed out on Twilight Keepsake the first and only other time it was available in-game.

After last week’s vote on this year’s Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost armor designs, Bungie has already published the winning sets. By popular vote, we’ve got Evil Wizard Hunters and Warlocks, and Good Wizard Titans, but the fashion community is not at all thrilled with the results.

Bungie has revealed a new Destiny 2 community event inspired by The Witcher. This new community event follows a crossover with CD Projekt Red’s hit franchise, which introduced several new cosmetics inspired by Geralt of Rivia that came with Season of the Wish. Crossovers are nothing new in Destiny 2, with Bungie introducing cosmetics based on other popular Sony titles like God of War and Horizon Forbidden West into the game, but this is the first time that one has resulted in a community event.

Thanks to a newly discovered bug, the unpopular Togetherness modifier has seemingly returned into Destiny 2 after being removed just a couple of weeks ago. The Togetherness activity modifier is one of the more unpopular ones, as it forces players to stay close to one another so health and shields can regenerate. In certain activities, especially the harder content, Togetherness adds another layer of challenge and eliminates numerous strategies by forcing players to stick together rather than utilizing the map or taking on specific roles to get through challenging encounters.

Xur has returned to Bungie’s Destiny 2, hanging out in the European Dead Zone on Earth until the next weekly reset. This week’s Exotic weapon is Skyburner’s Oath, a Kinetic scout rifle which fires heavy slug rounds. When aiming down sights, the projectile speed is faster, while shooting from the hip results in a bigger explosion radius.

Destiny 2 players notice a problem with the Dreaming City skybox as it loses a key visual detail when certain zones are loaded. With a constant stream of updates, additions, and changes, live service titles like Destiny 2 are susceptible to bugs and other unforeseen issues. In fact, Bungie's popular online shooter has seen a variety of issues over the years, both large and small, and some that have even become full-fledged features. Recently, a bug which allowed Destiny 2 players to summon their sparrow vehicles during Crucible matches was eventually turned into a specific mode during the next season.

Some 10 years after the release of the original Destiny, Bungie is finally giving Destiny 2 players a way to redo their character's appearance, whether they're painfully tired of the edgy Hot Topic model they created a decade ago or simply fancy a new hairdo. In a follow-up comment to GamesRadar+, a representative for the developer affirmed that this customization will remain free according to "current plans," and also clarified that it doesn't have plans to add a way to change your race (origin).

Ever since the launch of Destiny 2, and even in the original Destiny, players have been stuck with their characters' appearance, for better or for worse. If you made a mistake or wanted to change your character's looks down the line, you were out of luck, which is fairly uncommon in long-term games such as Destiny 2, that have you playing the same character for potentially multiple years. Thankfully, that is about to change.

The original Destiny arrived 10 years ago this year — and finally, Bungie will let players modify their character's face.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape simply whelmed players on the day of its showcasing, only to be followed by a bout of nasty layoffs and a release date pushback. Ahead of the DLC’s postponed release, however, Bungie managed to eke out some victories, such as the Guardian re-customization feature.

Bungie reveals that it is doubling the Glimmer cap for Destiny 2 players in a January 30 update, while also confirming that the ability to modify the appearance of existing characters is finally coming prior to The Final Shape. Player expression is a major component of Destiny 2, though it's not quite as robust as other RPG-style games. After creating a character, players really can only change the appearance of armor and weapons, with their character model typically hidden underneath. Still, Destiny 2 provides a ton of armor and weapon skins to customize for exotics, a transmog system for armor, as well as countless shaders which alter the colors of the gear it is applied to.

Bungie has announced Destiny 2 will soon let players change their character’s appearance, a long-requested feature that has never been available in either Destiny or Destiny 2 before.

If you want to change your Destiny 2 wizard's appearance, the only current method is to stash your wizard's gear in your vault, create a whole new wizard with a new look (after deleting the old to free a character slot, if needed), grab your old wizard's gear, then optionally replay any story bits to catch up. The MMOFPS has no barber, no surgeon, it's new character or nothing. After six years (longer, if you count the first game), Bungie are finally planning to change this. An upcoming update will introduce the ability to change your character's look—within limits. For drastic changes, you would still need a new wizard.

Halo season 2 is almost here, with one of our most anticipated new TV shows of 2024 set to land this February. It's going to set Master Chief on one of his most dangerous missions so far, pitting the legendary Spartan against invading Covenant forces on the planet of Reach – one of humanity's last strongholds, and all that stands between Earth and certain extinction. Which is all to say, that the stakes couldn't be any higher in season 2 of the Halo TV show. 

In its latest This Week at Bungie post, the Destiny 2 developer has announced that players will finally be getting the ability to edit their Guardians’ appearance in the game without having to delete the character and start over.

Destiny 2 is finally adding a feature so essential to MMOs that it's still baffling to think it didn't already have it: the option to redo your character's look anytime, anywhere. 

Expansions and DLCs have long been part of the gaming industry as developers and publishers continuously seek ways to monetize a successful release beyond the initial purchase. While some gamers may scoff at the mere thought, the best examples of expansions and DLCs have delivered truly incredible gaming experiences that built upon an already great foundation and elevated it even further.

While playing the Starcrossed exotic mission, one Destiny 2 player discovers a strange metallic symbol in an out-of-bounds chamber seemingly linking the Vex to the Ishtar Collective. Secrets and Easter eggs are nothing new to the Destiny franchise, as over the past 10 years, Bungie has hidden plenty of things in game which players, either intentionally or by accident, have discovered. Even content teases, like Nezarec whispering to Destiny 2 players while exploring Neomuna, eventually led to the reveal that the character was indeed the Root of Nightmares raid boss.

In an effort to make the PsiOps Battleground: Cosmodrome mission on Grandmaster difficulty a bit easier, one Destiny 2 player shares a simple trick involving the Polaris Lance and a Nightstalker Hunter. For players looking for a challenge, Grandmaster Nightfalls offer the highest difficulty within the Vanguard Playlist. Typically arriving a few weeks into a season, Grandmaster level difficulty offers some of the best rewards for those who are able to overcome the various challenges, like a capped light level, an abundance of champions, stronger enemies, as well as limited revives.

Xur has returned to the Tower in Bungie’s Destiny 2, carrying – you guessed it – some fairly typical Exotics and Legendaries. He’s available till the next weekly reset and carries Merciless, an Energy fusion rifle. Despite going from Heavy to Special ammo, it doesn’t compete with other Exotics.

There’s a new rumor going around that the planned Halo battle royale game has been cancelled.

Last year was one of the best years for game releases but easily one of the worst for the people who made them, with more than 10,000 workers laid off by various companies, including Microsoft, Epic Games, BioWare, Bungie, Naughty Dog, and many more. Unfortunately, it seems this heartbreaking trend is continuing into this new year as yesterday, Bloomberg reported that Amazon-owned streaming company Twitch is set to lay off 500 employees, or about 35 percent of its staff.
