Updated digital store and wishlist pages for Atlus' upcoming Metaphor: ReFantazio have described how its dungeon crawling and social simulation gameplay loop differs from the Persona franchise. Metaphor: ReFantazio was first announced in June 2023 as a brand-new IP from Atlus, tackling a pure high fantasy setting instead of the urban fantasy genre like in the Shin Megami Tensei or Persona franchises. Despite the setting change, Metaphor Re:Fantazio has been shown to share DNA with Atlus' past works.

Persona 6 will feature a semi-open world and «more fluid» social link structure, a prominent leaker has said. There have been a fair amount of rumors surrounding Persona 6 over the past few years. Despite there being little concrete evidence of the game existing, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating or hearing about something potentially related to this game. One of the latest rumors is focused on how Persona 6 will overhaul its longtime social link mechanic and the structure of its overworld.

Atlus is currently riding the highs of the critical and commercial success that Persona 3 Reload has enjoyed in the wake of its launch a month ago, but given how long it’s been since the series’ last new mainline instalment released, it’s no surprise that a sizeable section of its fanbase is anxiously waiting for details on Persona 6. When Atlus will begin speaking about the game in an official capacity is anyone’s best guess at this point, but a leaker has spilled the beans on some potential details on the RPG.

Indications that Persona 3 Reload might be getting content related to the original Persona 3‘s story episode The Answer—available exclusively in Persona 3 FES—have come to light once more. As spotted by PCGamer, a YouTuber, Faz, managed to use cheat engine to get to the ending of Persona 3 Reload on Merciless difficulty, where an item is given to the player with a message by the protagonist.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is now available for pre-orders across PC and the last two console generations, with its newly surfaced listings also offering a detailed look at the contents of the game's Deluxe Edition. The standard and premium versions of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance will be priced at $59.99 and $69.99, respectively.

Unicorn Overlord is out next week, and to commemorate the occasion, Vanillaware has released the final video in Josef’s Guide series. This one focuses on combat and the various tactics players can employ. First, you must send out units from a Fort to meet the enemy and engage in battle.

Fans are hopeful that expansion The Answer will come to Persona 3 Reload after dataminers discovered references to DLC.

Gamers are still rightfully praising Atlus for releasing Persona 3 Reload earlier in the month. The remake was a true “labor of love,” and it showed. Not only were the graphics overhauled, but new gameplay elements were added, other quality-of-life improvements were interlaced with the previous version to make it stand out from the crowd, and they even brought in a new voice-acting crew to give the game a new sound. However, one thing that fans didn’t appreciate was that the expansion of the story, via “The Answer” content, wasn’t included in the main game. That led to rumors about whether Atlus was planning to do DLC based on it.

Persona 6 will take place in a high school setting, a prominent Atlus leaker has said. Their claim was offered in response to yet another wave of fan discussion about whether Persona 6 could benefit from going to college.

A prominent Sega leaker has claimed that the upcoming Persona 5: The Phantom X mobile game may be getting a localization and will be released in the West after all. The English version of Persona 3 Reload contains a mistranslation suggesting Akihiko's Theurgy gauge fills much slower than it actually does, as recently spotted by one attentive fan. Atlus and Vanillaware’s upcoming tactics RPG Unicorn Overlord has looked increasingly promising in the lead-up to its release, and excitement is high with its launch now mere days away. Now, it’s also been announced that those who want to dip their toes in the water and get a taste of the game before its release have the chance to do so.

Atlus revealed that Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is coming to Nintendo Switch during the recent Partner Showcase. However, it also confirmed that the acclaimed 2021 RPG would launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC on June 21st. A physical edition is also confirmed, with pre-orders starting on February 27th.

The Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase is live, and Atlus has confirmed the existence ofShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. Out on June 21st for Nintendo Switch, it was also rated recently in South Korea for other platforms. Check it out below.

An ambitious fan group is currently working on a female protagonist mod for Persona 3 Reload. Atlus' Persona 3 Reload launched on February 2 to an overwhelming amount of hype and critical acclaim. Reload is a remake of the original Persona 3, focused on recreating the 2006 RPG and updating it to play more like modern Persona games. Reload has also added a number of elements from past re-releases, though ended up omitting certain elements, much to the disappointment of fans.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is losing Soul Hackers 2 and Madden NFL 22 on February 29, 2024. While both games are being removed from the Xbox Game Pass service, they will still be available for purchase on the Microsoft Store for those who want to continue playing.

Vanillaware may have struggled to break into the mainstream until now, but those who’ve played the developer’s past games – from Odin Sphere to Dragon’s Crown to 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim – will gladly tell you that it has been putting out bangers for quite a while now. Its next game – Unicorn Overlord, which launches next month – is looking like it’s going to be another notch on the belt for the studio, with Vanillaware itself saying that it’s the biggest game it’s ever made.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance has been rated in South Korea. The leaked classification implies that the unannounced title is a complete edition of Shin Megami Tensei 5 with all the DLC and even some extra content.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has rated “Shin Megami Tensei V: Vegneance.” (Update 1:54 a.m.: The rating has been removed.)

Since its launch a little over two years ago, Shin Megami Tensei 5 has remained exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Rumours have repeatedly insisted, however, that Atlus’ acclaimed RPG is also headed to additional platforms, something that wouldn’t be surprising given the company’s newfound appreciation for multiplatform releases, and more evidence has seemingly emerged to point to the same.

One of the unannounced games currently in development at Atlus has the codename XRD792, a well-known leaker has said. Although the purported designation is fairly nondescript, it matches with Atlus's established code-naming practices, consequently offering one concrete clue about the mysterious project.

The good news is that Xbox Game Pass is seemingly only losing one game on February 29, but the bad news is that game is Soul Hackers 2, a well-reviewed Atlus RPG that originally released in 2022. New games are added to Xbox Game Pass every month, but titles are removed from the popular subscription service every month as well.

Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, a well-known Atlus insider has said. Their claim adds to the recent wave of Switch 2 leaks whose sheer volume suggests that Nintendo's next console is nearing its highly-anticipated launch.

With the likes of Shin Megami Tensei 5, Persona 5 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable, Atlus has released a number of its major titles for the Nintendo Switch in recent years, so when the developer announced last year that its next two flagship releases in Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio wouldn’t be coming to Nintendo’s platform, many were taken by surprise.

With all the big titles launching in the next few weeks, it’s almost easy to forget that Atlus’s Persona 3 Reload launches on February 2nd. Physical copies of Persona 3 Reload started shipping early to some lucky gamers on January 22. The much-anticipated remake of the third mainline Persona game isn't scheduled to release for almost two more weeks.

Easily, one of the biggest “problems” with certain media is their desire to “look cool” and try to bring in people to get their games. It’s not that they shouldn’t try and do this, but sometimes the look of what they show or the intent they’re trying to convey doesn’t quite line up. He’s one of the stars of The Umbrella Academy, where he plays the time traveler called “Five.” He was in the trailer to remind players that within the game, “your time is limited.” So, the connections track, at least.

When Persona 3 Reload was announced last year, the fact that it would be coming to every platform under the sun except for the Switch took many by surprise, especially given the fact that many of Atlus’ major games had been released for Nintendo’s platform in recent years, including several Persona titles. And while a Switch port of the remake isn’t something Atlus has in its plans, the company says “the idea is there”.

Its comments on the matter emerged mere weeks ahead of Persona 3 Reload's global release, which is scheduled for February 2.

Persona 3 Reload is a remake of the 2006 original, and players are tasked with defeating the Shadows that appear during a full moon. It’s become one of the more praised RPGs, and the developers have continued to turn out new installments based on this game. For instance, we have Persona 5: The Royal, an enhanced edition of the game, Persona 5: Strikers, which acted as an action RPG set shortly after the events of the main game, then there’s the more recently released Persona 5: Tactica, a tactical RPG set within the events of Persona 5. However, if you’re not quite done with this particular installment, then you might be interested in a prototype version. 

Atlus shared the complete list of Persona 3 Reload day-one DLC, revealing that the upcoming game will offer over half a dozen such pieces of paid downloadable content at launch. The developer's announcement was accompanied by an image gallery depicting the contents of the newly confirmed DLC packs, all of which are throwbacks to past games in the Persona franchise.

For many Persona fans, the absolute banger soundtracks are a make or break of the overall experience. Getting to listen to great music during the Dark Hour makes the time fly by. However, with the new remake on the horizon, we must ask the question: is the original P3 soundtrack in Persona 3 Reload?

Atlus has outlined all the DLC available when Persona 3 Reload launches on February 2nd, from costume sets to Persona for players. While the coming months are full of big-name RPGs like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Persona 3 Reload, Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord is definitely worth a look. It’s a tactical role-playing game with a 2D art style and focuses on Alain, the crown prince of the former Kingdom of Cornia, as he ventures Fevirth to defeat the Zenoira Empire.

The new RPG from the makers of Persona looks stylish, dense, exciting, and almost entirely baffling in its trailers, so 14 minutes of the folks from Atlus just describing it is welcome.

Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new fantasy RPG from director Katsura Hashino of Persona 5 fame, is releasing in Fall 2024.
