New rumors have emerged about AEW Fight Forever’s development, that do not reflect well on everyone’s favorite wrestling company at the moment.

AEW Fight Forever has finally added former Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter to its playable roster after almost a year. Despite the game receiving a mixed reception at launch, the companies behind AEW Fight Forever remain committed to adding new content to the game through DLC Season waves. This includes new game modes like the online multiplayer Stadium Stampede and tournament-style “Beat the Elite.”

AEW: Fight Forever’s latest batch of DLC is now out, adding three popular wrestlers as playable characters alongside a wealth of other exciting content. Publisher THQ Nordic and former WWE 2K developer Yuke’s have been building on AEW: Fight Forever since the arcade-style wrestling simulator first launched last June, such as adding the multiplayer Stadium Stampede mode back in August. “Beat the Elite” followed in December, pitting players against 10 opponents before they go head-to-head with one of The Elite themselves.

One of the biggest ironies for AEW Fight Forever is that the game was in production for so long that not everyone within the game is the same as they were when development started. For example, multiple members of the game’s roster are now not a part of the title, like Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill. Then, in the case of Toni Storm, she’s not exactly the “same person” she was when work started on her character model. It’s been an interesting time to be a fan of All Elite Wrestling, as 2023 has been full of highs and lows for the brand. Typically, the “lows” came from haters of the company and many people’s attempts to try and “lower the brand.” But even with these assaults from all sides, the wrestling company had many highlights to be proud of, including the arrival of AEW Fight Forever! The game is the company’s first video game on consoles and PCs, and they’ve been doing their best to bring plenty of content to players without forcing them to buy a new game every year.

AEW Fight Forever’s second season of content is here, launching with the Dynamite pack. The first season brought with it a half-dozen new roster members alongside new content for mini-games, while the second season begins with the company’s most successful homegrown tag team, The Acclaimed as its showcase DLC alongside the 2022 AEW Dynamite stage. The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens and Max Caster have been known as DLC characters due to their X posts over the last few months about being scanned for the game – making their gaming debuts here in Fight Forever.

All Elite Wrestling is having yet another big week in its promotions life, including some welcome news on the video game front via AEW Fight Forever. By that, we speak of how Season 2 of the game’s DLC has arrived, and with its arrival comes the debut of The Acclaimed! Max Caster and Anthony Bowens are ready to make the “mic drop” and rap their way to victory over all the other AEW competitors, and so if you’ve been waiting for your chance to “scissor your way to victory,” this is your chance. Yes, we’re hyping them up quite a bit, but this is a very special team in AEW’s history.

AEW: Fight Forever has had a few DLC packs already, including the legendary tag team of FTR and “Limitless” Keith Lee and it’s set to get a pair of very different wrestlers soon. Hook and Danhausen are set to make their video game debuts soon, with the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC incarnations of Fight Forever getting them on September 28 while Switch owners can download them on October 5. Each man has had their own unique journey to get to this point. With Hook as the son of AEW commentator, Team Taz leader, and ECW legend Taz and Danhausen as someone who gained a lot of traction through his indie work and then also appearing with Conan ‘O Brien – giving him a unique appeal with an audience that may not normally check out pro wrestling or a wrestling game otherwise.

AEW Fight Forever might have come out a few months ago, but much like the wrestling company itself, the game finds a way to be still talked about. While the title wasn’t the greatest wrestling game ever, it did have lots of heart and merit, and the team worked hard to deliver a fun wrestling game experience that many could enjoy and many have. One of the key things that they did for the game was have a nice set of DLC releases that would come post-launch and bring more characters into the title. Next week, another DLC pack will arrive. When it comes to wrestling games, one of the most important things they can do is continue to add to their main roster via updates and DLC content. Given roster sizes, it’s understandable that they can’t put everyone in the game at the start. But by using things like a season pass or little DLC fighter packs, they can add more characters to the title and thus give gamers more options on who they can play as. For AEW Fight Forever, the game has just dropped one such DLC pack, and it features two very different wrestlers and some mini-games to boot!

This weekend, All Elite Wrestling will be hosting not only their largest event ever, but what will likely go down as one of the largest events in pro wrestling history: All In at Wembley Stadium in London.

As we noted yesterday, we’re in the midst of one of the biggest weeks in All Elite Wrestling history. Tonight is the final AEW Dynamite show before their biggest PPV ever via All In London, and the head of the company, Tony Khan, has been making all sorts of statements to hype up the event. For example, yesterday, he held a press conference breaking down the event and showcasing how excited the company was about what was about to happen. But then, just before the new day dawned, he dropped another announcement about AEW Fight Forever that fans will want to hear.

We’re a few days away from the start of one of the most important weeks in the history of All Elite Wrestling. We say that because the wrestling company is about to have its biggest wrestling show ever, and then a week later, they will have another big event on a separate continent. AEW All In London will host over 82,000 people, making it the largest paid attendance event in wrestling history. To celebrate that event, AEW President Tony Khan did a press event this morning, and in it, he talked about AEW Fight Forever and how it was doing.

To say that it’s been a busy month or so for All Elite Wrestling would be a grand understatement. It’d actually be more appropriate to say that they’ve been doing their best to fire on all cylinders to keep growing the company and reaching out to fans, new and old, with exciting experiences. One of the biggest experiences of the bunch that they’ve been focusing on is the AEW Fight Forever video game that launched at the end of June. The title was the product of many years of work, and gamers seemed to have liked it, and critics felt it was a decent first attempt by the still-young wrestling company.

It’s hard to believe that AEW Fight Forever has almost been out for a month already. The reason that’s hard to believe is that the game had a troubled development history due largely to the ESRB, and many wondered if it would ever arrive. Sure enough, when it did arrive, it was a “mixed experience,” depending on who you talked to. Those who focused on the gameplay have fond feelings for it, as it reminds them of the wrestling games of old. Those looking for a “more robust experience” were left a little disappointed by the results.

While its development was not the easiest for various reasons, AEW Fight Forever was finally released in late June, and those who have played it have enjoyed it. They dug the arcade-style gameplay, the hilarity that some matches can have, and more. But most importantly, they enjoy being able to play as many of their favorite members of the AEW roster, including characters like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander, Jade Cargill, and more. But as many fairly note, a large part of the AEW isn’t in the game, including many who are “current stars” with the company.
