AEW: Fight Forever’s latest batch of DLC is now out, adding three popular wrestlers as playable characters alongside a wealth of other exciting content. Publisher THQ Nordic and former WWE 2K developer Yuke’s have been building on AEW: Fight Forever since the arcade-style wrestling simulator first launched last June, such as adding the multiplayer Stadium Stampede mode back in August. “Beat the Elite” followed in December, pitting players against 10 opponents before they go head-to-head with one of The Elite themselves.
There have been plenty of post-launch roster additions to AEW: Fight Forever as well, allowing players to step into the squared circle as some of All Elite Wrestling’s biggest stars like Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of The Acclaimed and current AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm. Earlier this month, it was announced that former AEW Tag Team Champion and current Mogul Embassy leader Swerve Strickland would finally be added to AEW: Fight Forever as part of the game’s Season 3 DLC pack on February 14.
Now that day has finally come, and AEW: Fight Forever’s Season 3 DLC is now available across all current gaming systems for $16.99. In addition to the aforementioned Swerve Strictland, this new batch of content includes two more famous wrestlers from AEW’s roster: Claudio Castagnoli, who has appeared in numerous WWE video games under his old ring name of Antonio Cesaro, and Jamie Hayter, who has wrestled for several promotions before signing with AEW in 2021 and once held the AEW Women's World Championship that currently belongs to Toni Storm.
New playable wrestlers aren’t the only things included in AEW: Fight Forever’s latest DLC, as Season 3 also contains new character customization options to help players craft the ultimate in-ring performer, such as glowing fire or energy skins. Players can also listen to several new music tracks, and Season 3 is adding 33 new wrestling move animations. Finally, AEW: Fight Forever players can wrestle in a new outdoor beach arena that transitions from day to night as a given match goes on.
AEW: Fight Forever has garnered a mixed reception so far, with many praising its WWF: No Mercy-like gameplay and others bemoaning its presentation and shortage of modes at launch. Despite this, the developers behind AEW: Fight Forever are still committed to supporting the game through post-release DLC, and Season 3 is now adding three new wrestlers and plenty of other content.
A throwback to classic wrestling titles like WWF No Mercy, AEW Fight Forever marks the promotion's first step into the gaming landscape. Along with a career mode, the game offers a few creation modes, including genre standards like create-a-wrestler, along with match types unique to AEW such as
