Pokemon Masters EX has revealed a new event to celebrate the game's 4.5-year anniversary, adding two new Sync Pairs to the game and giving out free gems. Since the game's debut in late 2019, developer DeNA has brought a plethora of characters from both main-series Pokemon games and the Pokemon anime to the mobile spinoff. The mobile game made waves when it finally added Ash and his Pikachu to the game in late 2022, marking the long-awaited appearance of the anime's iconic protagonist. Now, Pokemon Masters EX is welcoming two new Sync Pairs, including a notable addition from Scarlet and Violet.
Following Scarlet and Violet's debut in late 2022, Pokemon Masters EX has already featured multiple Sync Pairs from the newest main-series games. Multiple Gym Leaders from the franchise's Paldea region have made an appearance within MastersEX, with Iono and Grusha featured in the game. Two members of Scarlet and Violet's main cast have also been added previously, with Penny and Nemona joining the roster of Pokemon Masters EX. Now, Paldea's Top Champion is set to join the game alongside another Champion for its 4.5-year anniversary.
During Tuesday's Pokemon Presents broadcast, DeNA and The Pokemon Company shared more details about how Pokemon Masters EX will celebrate four-and-a-half years. Two new Sync Pairs will be added to the game during the update, with Paldea Top Champion Geeta joining the roster alongside a Champion variant of Pokemon Gold and Silver rival Silver. Geeta will bring her Glimmora to the game, while Silver (Champion) sports a fearsome Mega Tyranitar as his partner. The trailer also announced a new «Master Sync Pair» featuring Sygna Suit Gladion and Magearna.
Alongside the new characters, Pokemon Masters EX announced a plethora of rewards as part of its anniversary event. Players logging in to MastersEX before March 27 will receive 3,000 free gems to use within the game's gacha system, gifting players with a free 10-pull. The event will feature a free reward unit as well, with players able to claim Riley and his Lucario by completing Pokemon Masters EX's newest event before March 31. Pokemon Masters EX also teased the highly-requested «photo creator,» allowing players to create custom photos of their characters.
