The official Keanu Reeves-narrated Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty trailer debuted during the Xbox Games Showcase in June. Check it out below:
CD Projekt Red describes Phantom Liberty as “a new spy-thriller adventure for Cyberpunk 2077.” The developer cited Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Bridge of Spies, James Bond, Ocean’s Eleven, and Bourne Identity as inspirations. Players will once again step into the shoes of V, who’s been hired as a government secret agent to save Rosalind Myers, president of the New United States of America.
Phantom Liberty is set in a new area called Dogtown, described by CD Projekt Red as “a ruined city-within-a-city ruled by a trigger-happy militia.” Within Dogtown, players can expect to encounter “a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations,” leading to “high-octane gigs and quests with stakes like never before.”
Joining Keanu Reeves, who reprises his role as Johnny Silverhand, is actor Idris Elba. The Night City newcomer plays Solomon Reed, a member of the Federal Intelligence Agency "who knows better than anyone how to tap into the countless webs of spies and netrunners, how to extract information, and how to break into even the most tightly guarded places.”
In addition to Myers and Reed, new characters include Alena "Alex" Xenakis, a shapeshifter hired by Reed; Colonel Kurt Hansen, the antagonistic leader of Dogtown; and Songbird, President Myers’s personal netrunner.
Phantom Liberty will have multiple endings — one of which will unlock a sixth ending for the base game. This new ending for Cyberpunk 2077, according to game director Gabe Amatangelo, "has to do with your new relationships and characters and situations.”

Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 might have made a lot of improvements to Cyberpunk 2077 but one new bug has introduced a haunted police car to Night City.
has added a new car as a tribute to famed rally driver Ken Block: the Quadra Type 66 «Hoon.» This particular variant of the Quadra Type 66 has been modified for rally driving, boasting a powerful engine and excellent handling both on and off-road. It also comes with mounted machine guns and armor plating for vehicle combat, making it an excellent choice for cruising the lawless streets of Night City.
Early in the DLC's main story for, V is faced with a difficult choice without a lot of time to make a well-thought-out decision. As is often the case with much of the game, there are many decisions that have to be handled which can affect other things down the line, and particularly when trying to roleplay it can be hard to know what the right choice is. Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty players think they've found Idris Elba's Solomon Reed chilling in Night City before the DLC even takes place.
When it comes to cyberpunk, I'm a simpleton: I'm always chasing the initial radioactive wave of cool that emanated from the pages of William Gibson's Neuromancer and its prequel short story Johnny Mnemonic. When I saw the monowire cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, I knew it was the weapon for me, and I was even more excited when Cyberpunk director Gabe Amatangelo recommended a particular monowire build to me, capitalizing on all the changes to Cyberpunk's skill system in 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, in an interview this week.
Cyberpunk 2077 is back and better than ever following CD Projekt Red’s release of the 2.0 update and new expansion, Phantom Liberty. With all of the recently added content, fans have been exploring Night City and Phantom Liberty’s gritty Dogtown in search of easter eggs and clever references. The developer did in fact hide some such secrets with the DLC’s launch, and some of them refer back to CD Projekt Red’s other iconic game, The Witcher 3.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not afraid to include the odd reference the another game or TV show here and there. You can find several scattered throughout Night City, including little nods to Death Stranding, Mortal Kombat, Blade Runner, and a lot more. You also probably won't be surprised to hear that CD Projekt Red loves to reference its previous work too, as you'll find several references to The Witcher 3 on top of all the other cool easter eggs.
's main story is all about becoming a legendary edgerunner in Night City and getting Johnny Silverhand's relic out of V's head, but a distinct highlight of the game is romancing some of its key characters. Romancing Judy or Panam seem to be the most popular of the game's five options, but each have an associated storyline worth playing through even if love's not on the agenda. The release of, 's first and only expansion, has brought with it the 2.0 update and a significant overhaul to the whole game. Included in 's new story is Songbird, a major character working for the President of the New United States of America, but the DLC doesn't seem to extend any new offerings of romance.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty launches today, and if you're planning on making a return trip to Night City, be cautious, as you can miss out on the expansion's main quest entirely if you mess up an early mission.
