With the release of The Last of Us Part II Remastered, gamers are again going through the emotions of playing this title and the incredibly dark story that Naughty Dog presented to them originally on the PS4. Now, with the PS5 version, fans aren’t just getting the most “aesthetically pleasing version” of the game but also getting insight into what made this game what it was. The documentary attached to the new game brought the voice actors into the mix and creative director Neil Druckmann to explain some of the game’s key moments. But the biggest moment that everyone wanted to hear about was the “final battle” between Abby and Ellie.

It’s true that when The Last Of Us Part II Remastered was announced that many gamers rolled their eyes. This was a PS4 game that was getting a “remaster” for PS5, and it once again felt like a company trying to get a money grab because they knew how popular the game was on a previous system, so they “upgraded it slightly” and then brought it to the newest system. However, we’ll give Naughty Dog credit. Not only did they upgrade the visuals for the title, but they also gave players more to do than in the PS4 version. Key among these additions was “No Return Mode.”

No, sorry, there won't be a Bill and Frank TV spin-off for The Last of Us after all. Series co-creator Craig Mazin has said the crew is happy with what it accomplished with those characters in the first season, and as such «there won't be more Bill and Frank».

Naughty Dog have been around for a while, and have been making incredible titles throughout their history. However, when it comes to their most groundbreaking series, fans have become concerned about their “focus” on it. The first game with Joel and Ellie is widely hailed as one of the greatest video games ever, and it sold incredibly well. Then, Naughty Dog decided to port it, remaster it for the PS4, and then completely remake it for the PS5 and PC. It was worthy, if not superfluous. And then, they announced The Last of Us Part II Remastered, which was basically getting the same treatment.

Naughty Dog have officially stopped development of The Last Of Us Online, a multiplayer game based on their celebrated McCarthyite (no, not that McCarthy - I mean the novelist) post-apocalyptic action-adventure. Announced in the dusty days of 2018 as a multiplayer mode for The Last Of Us: Part 2, it evolved into a standalone experience with new characters and a new setting, but Sony reportedly scaled the project back earlier this year. Naughty Dog have now formally called it quits, stating that supporting a live service project such as this would have “severely impacted” future single-player game projects. Sony never locked down platforms for The Last Of Us Online, but a PC release was surely on the cards, though I would have expected the game to launch first on PlayStation, as with the original Last Of Us and Uncharted 4.

Following reports that development on Naughty Dog's long-awaited The Last of Us multiplayer game had been «slowed down» earlier this year, the studio has announced it's officially pulling the plug on the project, saying it didn't want to become a «solely live service games studio».

The brand-new No Return mode will come with six bosses to unlock when it arrives on PS5 next month. The bosses and other mode unlocks are part of the first large information drop on the single-player roguelike survival mode, which is one of many new additions to the Remastered version of the game.
