In a swift response to an unexpected leak on social media, Rockstar Games released the much-anticipated trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, ahead of its scheduled debut.
Rockstar was set to own the internet tomorrow as it debuted its first trailer for the long-awaited next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series. The trailer is now live a day early, thanks to a leaker who posted the trailer on Twitter this afternoon.
After it seemingly leaked on Twitter, Rockstar Games’ first official trailer for the eagerly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 went live early. It confirms many rumors (and last year’s leaks) about the Vice City setting and two playable protagonists. Furthermore, it’s out in 2025, again as rumors suggested, though the trailer didn’t mention for which platforms.
Rockstar Games has designated December 5th as the day it'll break the internet with the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game.
Rockstar has removed the Social Club branding from its website, presumably in anticipation of GTA 6. As per the news account @videotechuk_ on Twitter, the publisher has replaced the nomenclature with simply ‘Rockstar Games' and scrapped any references to ‘Social Club members.' The online gaming service is also missing the old logo now, though players can still engage in multiplayer elements and accrue member-exclusive rewards from games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. For now, it's unclear whether Rockstar would launch a new platform or simply update the existing application to usher in the new era, but traces of the branding still remain in-game.
The world has been given a tiny glimpse into the uber-secretive world of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar North thanks to a fascinating new blog from former technical director Obbe Vermeij, who, in just a few short weeks, has shed light on the studio's cancelled spy game Agent, discussed a zombie game abandoned by the company after it was deemed to be too «depressing», and more.
GTA 6 developer Rockstar Games were once working on a zombie survival game set on a Scottish island, which sounds like a mixture of GTA: Vice City and legendary Arma mod DayZ. That's according to former technical director Obbe Vermeij, who joined Rockstar North in 1995 back when it was called DMA Design, and left in 2009 following the release of GTA 4. In the run-up to the GTA 6 trailer reveal this month, he's started blogging about the development of several Rockstar games, from GTA through grotty snuff film simulator Manhunt to cancelled projects such as the zombie title and Cold War stealth fest Agent.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is easily one of the most highly anticipated games at this point in time, and almost any rumour related to the game is bound to cause sparks of hope within hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe. Recently,it was observed that age ratings for GTA 6 were listed on the Australian Classification Board, but a new investigation from PCGamesN has revealed that it was all fake.
It's hard to believe that Grand Theft Auto Online is now ten years old. This is a game that I've been playing with my friends since it launched way back in 2013. My buddies who were playing on PlayStation 3 during that time realized just how insane this game would be, and knowing I couldn't afford a copy they bought me mine on Xbox 360 just so I could experience it for myself.
Microsoft has suffered a significant leak, with unredacted FTC documents being accidentally published online, with details having emerged on a cloud-powered next-gen Xbox console, an Xbox Series X mid-gen refresh, a new Xbox controller, and plans for several upcoming Bethesda titles. Something else that’s been spotted in the documents is supposed plans for a native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S release of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar is moving full steam ahead on the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, but when the company moves forward into that next era, it will seemingly be doing so without a key figure behind the scenes.
Rockstar invited widespread criticism with the announcement of Red Dead Redemption’s PS4 and Nintendo Switch port earlier this month, with the bulk of criticism being directed at its $50 price and its almost complete lack of upgrades or enhancements. And while the price obviously still remains a contentious point, it seems it does at least have some technical enhancements when played on a PS5.
Rockstar Games finally unveiled its plans for Red Dead Redemption 1, following website updates and rumors that seemed to be leading to a remaster/remake reveal. It was neither of those, with the developer announcing a re-release for Nintendo Switch and PS4. Along with the base game and Undead Nightmare expansion, it includes bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition.
We’ve been hearing rumours about a remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption for some time now, and they have indeed turned out to be accurate- sort of. The widely acclaimed Western open world epic, which released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, is indeed coming to modern consoles, though it doesn’t look like it will be making too many major enhancements or changes.
After months of rumors, Rockstar Games announced that Red Dead Redemption is re-releasing for PS4 and Nintendo Switch on August 17th (with a physical release on October 13th). Retailing for $49.99 and handled by Double Eleven Studios, it features support for new languages like Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and more.
The Red Dead Redemption remaster rumors have quickly gone from smoke to blazing fire. Insider Tez2 discovered a new logo for the game on Rockstar’s website with the reference Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Ver). It now seems that PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch have been added as platform buttons in a call-to-action (CTA) prompt.
