Report: Hackers Leak GTA 5 Source Code, Bully 2 Content

In their latest attempts to get Rockstar’s attention, the infamous Florida Joker, who appears to be parodied in the GTA 6 trailer, is threatening to “break out” the 18-year-old hacker who gained infamy of their own by leaking in-development videos of the upcoming crime game. 

GTA 6 is taking us back to Vice City, which means we'll be stepping foot into Rockstar's rendition of Miami, Florida. And it isn't shying away from that fact, parodying a bunch of viral videos and real-life characters to make it even more authentic. However, one has taken offense to being featured - the Florida Joker.

Atlus has a strong year ahead with titles like Vanillaware’s strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord and Studio Zero’s Metaphor ReFantazio. However, it’s possible that something that another title could be announced involving Soul Hackers 2 director Eiji Ishida.

A new report suggests that planned story DLC was scrapped due to internal rifts at Rockstar Games, as well as the sudden emergence and rise in popularity of GTA Online.

Yesterday, a huge Rockstar leak was shared to the internet revealing cancelled games such as Bully 2 and GTA Tokyo, scrapped GTA 5 DLC like Liberty City, alleged employee details, and GTA 5's source code. It has now come to light that this information may have been purchased for as little as $2,000.

Material from last year's Rockstar hack has seemingly been shared online, claiming that the company cancelled multiple games and DLC expansions. Most concerningly, however, it's being claimed that the leak includes information on Rockstar employees, including contact details.

As 2023 comes to an end, cybercrime has become a critical issue. Insomniac Games, the famed developer of Marvel's Spider-Man and its sequel Spider-Man 2 became the latest victim of a lack recently. Nearly 1.6TB of information including developer builds of the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine, timeline of upcoming games, as well as personal data of employees were put online by hackers. While this hack was shocking, it isn't the only one suffered by a major gaming developer in recent years. Just last year, Rockstar Games was hacked and 90 early development videos of GTA 6 were leaked online. Sometime later, it was concluded that a teen was behind the hack, and now he has been sentenced to life in hospital prison.

Rockstar is no stranger to leaks, and it seems the company can’t even catch a break during the holiday season.

Rockstar Games has seemingly been hit with yet another leak. Several reports have tipped that the complete source code of Grand Theft Auto 5 has been leaked. Reports have also suggested the leak includes GTA 6 codes and files from a rumoured sequel to the company's 2006 game, Bully. Notably, the hacker who helped leak GTA 6 gameplays last year was sentenced to indefinite hospital prison last week. Even the GTA 6 trailer was revealed 15 hours ahead of schedule in response to a leak that had shared the trailer online.
