The narrative centers on Joe Higan, a retired ninja whose peaceful life is violently disrupted when a band of assassins targets him and his family, seeking revenge for past betrayals. Joe sets out on a quest to avenge the attack on his loved ones and embraces his previous identity as Ninja Kamui.

Outright Games and Paramount Games Studios have given fans a first look at the upcoming game, which is being developed by A Heartful of Games. The title will be set in the world of 2023's acclaimed animated movie,, which Paramount has been keen to expand upon with a Paramount+ series, coming later this year and a sequel movie due in 2026.

Apple on Thursday announced the arrival of new "spatial games" that are designed to work on the company's recently launched Apple Vision Pro headset. These games are designed to run on visionOS and are available to Apple Arcade subscribers, according to the company. Ninja Kamui doesn’t waste any time getting from zero to 100. Within five minutes of its first episode, a bespectacled salaryman is ambushed by a flurry of projectile needles and attacks thrown by a dozen or so armored assailants, bobbing and weaving with uncanny precision as he counters each of their strikes before being viciously beheaded by a sneering brute with dreadlocks. Like the four Ultimate Ninja Storm games before it, Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is a comprehensive ode to the world and characters created by Masashi Kishimoto. Its immense cast of playable characters, each with exceptionally well-animated movesets, and a heaping handful of maps ripped straight from the anime with loving detail look better than ever before. But no level of source material accuracy can save this absolute mammoth of a game from hollow single-player content and a stale combat system that hasn’t meaningfully changed in fifteen years.

Okay, hands up, who pretended to be a ninja when they were younger? Jumping around your living room, bouncing on the furniture like a poor man’s version of Chris Farley in Beverly Hills Ninja. Of course, we did, but the closest we could ever get to that ninja dream was by settling with video games, which wasn’t all bad. There have been some pretty epic games based around the concept of stealthy ninjas as well, so many that we were probably spoilt for choice, to be honest. And because of that plethora of riches, it would be seemingly difficult to narrow the huge number of games into, let’s say, a list of 21 PC ninja games, wouldn’t it? In recent years, anime fighting games have dramatically improved their presentation and gameplay, with games like gaining an impressive competitive following. The series began by adapting Part 1 of Masashi Kishimoto's storyline. CyberConnect2's reverence for the series shined with the series' larger-than-life boss battles, intense quick-time-events sequences not seen in the anime, and a multiplayer component for friends to have their own epic ninja battles.

Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is, to be sure, a fighting game at its core. While not as rigid as Street Fighter or technical as Tekken, it does an exceptional job of continuing the legacy of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series by introducing a huge roster of over 130 characters – many of whom can interact with each other – as well as a brand new and very accessible “Simple Control Mode.” While some fans of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series might not be too hot on this totally optional simplified control scheme, the ability to ease things down a bit for newer players with simple single button attacks and movement is an excellent addition to the game, and still kept combat interesting and engaging in both the story mode and head-to-head against a real opponent. To put it bluntly, no matter how I played the game, I found myself having a blast with its quick and easy-to-grasp controls, and over-the-top visuals.

After 16 years hiding away, it looks like Izuna is back on the scene. Success Corporation announced that it’s currently working on a revival of the Nintendo DS-era RPG series Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.
