In a surprising turn of events, Motiga’s short-lived MOBA hero shooter, Gigantic, is set to return this spring, five years after being shut down in 2018.

The original Gigantic blended MOBA and hero shooter ideas together at the height of the gold rush in both genres, but failed to carve off a large enough audience of its own and sadly shut down in 2018.

Motiga’s Gigantic, a MOBA shooter whose servers shut down in 2018, is getting resurrected, courtesy of abstraction and Gearbox Publishing. Gigantic: Rampage Edition launches on April 9th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC, retailing for $19.99. While it features the same content as the original release, there’s also new content. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Gigantic, the free-to-play team brawler from a former StarCraft and Guild Wars designer, which launched (fully) in 2017 and closed the following year, is returning as Gigantic: Rampage Edition. It's no longer free-to-play, but a "premium and definitive release" of the original, and it's due on April 9th.

The 5v5 MOBA hero shooter first launched in 2017, and despite scoring rave reviews, it shut down a year later. With the help of a new developer and Gearbox Publishing, is making a big return with a new coat of paint and a reasonable price point thatprovides a lot for what some games charge for a single-character skin.

In 2018, less than a year after MOBA-hero shooter hybrid Gigantic launched, developer Motiga announced the game’s closure. Despite the initially positive reception to Gigantic’s colorful mash-up of two popular genres, the game “did not resonate with as many players as we’d hoped,” developers said at the time.

A few months ago, Gearbox Publishing turned the servers back on for classic MOBA Hero Shooter Gigantic, which had been turned off for over five years. They were only live for a couple of days, but it was enough to get people talking on the Gigantic Subreddit. What was the point of this two-day event? Is Gigantic coming back in some way? Well, the answer is yes, and it’s looking to come back in a big way with Gigantic: Rampage Edition on April 9, 2024.

While Rockstar Games has kept much of GTA 6's details under wraps, a series of compelling leaks have ignited speculation that the franchise is poised to return to Vice City for the first time since 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. This speculation gained further traction when leaked footage surfaced, showcasing the "Vice City Metro" and several iconic locations like the Malibu Club, Ocean View Hotel, Little Haiti, and Vice Beach. With Rockstar Games verifying the authenticity of this leaked content, there's a belief that GTA 6 will indeed unfold in Vice City.

Gigantic, a team-based shooter initially released in 2017, has returned for a limited time. From October 5 to October 7 the third-person shooter is hosting a “throwback event” where certain players will be able to play through the game again. Unfortunately, the event appears to be invite-only, so won’t be publicly accessible, but could lead to something more for the game depending on its popularity. 

Yesterday, it was reported that October could see the same amount of solar activity as the previous month. Currently, there are eight different active sunspot regions on the Earth-facing side of the Sun, and any one of them exploding could send terrifying coronal mass ejections (CME). In fact, that is what happened on October 3, when a sunspot exploded and caused a solar flare to erupt, which in the process, hurled a massive CME towards the Earth. Now, as per a NOAA forecast, this CME is expected to strike our planet on Saturday, October 7. Further, NASA has also shared a video of the event that shows the scary moment when the explosion takes place and the CME releases.

Remember Gigantic? Gearbox Publishing certainly does. And it looks like the company is hoping fans of the doomed hero shooter do as well. The company sent emails to some former Gigantic players, inviting them to come together once more for a “limited time throwback event.”

Gigantic is—or was—a free-to-play «strategic hero shooter» that went into full release in July 2017 and almost immediately fell into misfortune. In November 2017, developer Motiga was closed, and just a couple months later publisher Perfect World announced that the game would suffer the same fate in July 2018. But now, improbably and unexpectedly, it looks like it might be making a comeback: Gearbox has confirmed that invitations to a «limited time throwback event» are legit.

Originally expected to launch at some point today, the highly anticipated Patch 3 for Baldur's Gate 3 has been pushed back an entire… day. Developer Larian Studios took to social media in order to confirm the delay, clarifying that the update will now release on Friday the 22nd September. The wait just got a tiny bit longer!
