Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Z Fold 6 series in less than two months, and so far, we have heard some really interesting details about the upcoming foldable flagship. There have been rumors in the past about how Samsung is going to change the overall design language of the foldable, and now, this has been confirmed by Thinborne, a famous case maker that is known for making thin and light cases for phones.

A Pokemon fan has created a number of impressive fusion designs. Pokemon fusions have been a popular trend among fans, as molding two or more Pokemon together can create some very interesting designs. Fusions have had some sort of presence in the mainline Pokemon games sinceBlack and White, as the Legendary Pokemon Reshiram and Zekrom have the ability to fuse with Kyurem. These are the only Pokemon able to fuse officially, however, as every other fan fusion has been non-canon.

A brutal year of gaming industry layoffs has led to the unceremonious closure of studios that many believed to be the definition of successful. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle uses first-person camera angles to create a "unique experience" that you won't find in other action-adventure games like Uncharted or Tomb Raider. 

MachineGames unveiled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle during yesterday's Xbox Developer Direct with a rather impressive presentation. The developers also seemed genuinely psyched about the project, believing it to be a great match for their own game-making chops. Speaking to the Bethesda blog, Senior Animator Rebecca Elfstrӧm Hidén said:

Early last year, Square Enix announced Foamstars, a new PlayStation-exclusive lighthearted multiplayer shooter with more than a little Splatoon DNA in it. In the time since then, Square Enix has held an open beta, but hasn’t announced when the full game will release. Well, we can now report Foamstars will be launching in early February, and it will be available as a PS Plus Essential game from Day 1.

It’s been a shaky few years for Microsoft’s Halo franchise, and it seems a rumored battle royale take on the series isn’t coming to revive its fortunes. Halo Infinite arrived in 2021 to solid reviews, but 343 Industries has failed to deliver a satisfying flow of live-service content for the game’s free-to-play multiplayer.  Back in 2022, Austin-Texas-based studio Certain Affinity confirmed that they’d been hired to evolve Halo in “new and exciting ways,” and the rumor was they were working on some sort of battle royale experience codenamed “Tatanka.” Later, it was rumored Certain Affinity’s project may have gone in a somewhat different direction, but it likely still had plenty of battle royale DNA in it.

The Batman: Arkham Trilogy was somewhat groundbreaking for being - shock - actually great licensed games in a climate full of pretty subpar ones. Rocksteady Games is now pivoting to an anti-hero party in the upcoming Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League, which has garnered some raised eyebrows for its live service elements, but the developer claims that the team-up is its biggest story-focused adventure yet.

Rocksteady says Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn't just a flashy title, so you might want to forget about a new Batman Arkham game for the moment. 

One of the main criticisms levied at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is that it's a live service multiplayer game, unlike Rocksteady's critically acclaimed Batman Arkham trilogy.

A senior Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League developer has defended the game's live service format, saying the studio doesn't "think of our game as fitting with any particular label."

In a new batch of emails, 23andMe is notifying users that their information was exposed to a hacker scraping data from the DNA testing service.

Starfield. BioShock. Dishonored. Some of the greatest PC games of the last two decades owe their inspiration to the Thief series. Originally developed by Looking Glass Studios, of System Shock and Ultima fame, the third Thief, Deadly Shadows, would move to Ion Storm Austin, shortly after it shipped another stone-cold classic, the first Deus Ex. The team that helped build Thief 3 would eventually work on some of the most-beloved games of the modern era, including Skyrim, BioShock, and Starfield. Renowned for its superlative Shalebridge Cradle level, Thief Deadly Shadows is now all yours for less than $1.

The soulslike genre is hardly an unexplored frontier these days. While I generally detest using the “like” nomenclature, it’s hard to deny that FromSoftware made some very specific tweaks to the action-RPG genre that keep getting lifted wholesale. I was recently perturbed by Lies Of P essentially just lifting Bloodborne, sprinkling some variations from other Souls games, and then just calling it a day. I have trouble applauding someone for just copying the successes of another company wholesale.

Once an overlooked issue, the importance of mental health has become more recognised as a global concern over the last ten years. The gaming industry has had to look hard at itself to discover if well-intentioned words were matched with action, or if the entire DNA and culture of studios had to be re-worked to support the mental health of the people within.

Dusting off an old game and cracking into your save file is always a gamble. Those batteries aren’t exactly famous for functioning decades after their prime, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I popped my original Pokémon Red cart into an Analogue Pocket. I'm not sure if any of us saw this Final Fantasy 14 news coming, especially since it basically just stealth-dropped on the website over 20 hours shy of an official Twitter announcement, and two days before the game's next live letter, where this sort of bomb is usually dropped.

Star Wars has certainly had a fair share of fantasy elements baked into its DNA from the beginning. From its central “chosen one” monomyth to its deployment of the “special weapon” trope to a central plot arc that can be described as “storming a castle to rescue a princess,” Star Wars has never been a purely science-fiction story. Yet George Lucas has made it very clear that science-fiction stories like Buck Rogers and Frank Herbert’s Dunewere a much larger influence on him than the foundational fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien.

NASA said Thursday that the study of UFOs will require new scientific techniques, including advanced satellites as well as a shift in how unidentified flying objects are perceived. The space agency released the findings after a yearlong study into UFOs. In its 33-page report, an independent team commissioned by NASA cautioned that the negative perception surrounding UFOs poses an obstacle to collecting data. But officials said NASA's involvement should help reduce the stigma around what it calls UAPs, or unidentified anomalous phenomena.

The time-hopping Assassin’s Creed franchise, first launched by Ubisoft in 2007, has been adapted into a tabletop role-playing game by CMON and is now up for pre-order. But rather than placing one of its many,many existing and extremely popularhistorical timelines at the center of the action, the publisher has made the bold choice to center the game’s primary narrative throughline in the modern day. That’s right: Assassin’s Creed Roleplaying Game will focus on the Animus machine, a MacGuffin-shaped piece of futuristic technology that lets regular people experience what it was like to do murders in the distant past. A 130-page “quickstart” Animus Training Program is now available to download for free.

As you carefully trundle over a particularly difficult outcropping of rocks and find yourself staring at a horrifically steep drop in the middle of the video game wilderness, there are three possible solutions. The MudRunner way would have you turn around and try to find a different, more sensible way around, or you could embrace the Forza Horizon way and launch yourself off it, resulting in the doom and destruction of your vehicle. Finally, and quite unexpectedly, you attach your jeep to a nearby rock and abseil down the rock face. Yes. Abseil. A jeep. This would be the Expeditions way.

Starfield fans are eagerly counting down the days for Bethesda’s next major RPG release. For instance, a new Reddit post has some insight into a few areas of the game you might be keen on checking out.

Revealed last night at Gamescom 2023's Opening Night Live, we now know that Little Nightmares 3 is indeed a thing, coming in 2024. It's being made by Supermassive Games, who specialise in horror games (although not quite the same as the nitty-gritty childhood terrors style of Little Nightmares). Following the trajectory of the previous two games, Little Nightmares the third has two controllable protagonists, so you can play in co-op. It also has a tie-in podcast, to build out some of the Little Nightmares lore, a thing you might not have known existed.

But gaming is small potatoes compared to the vast sums of money being thrown around by mega corporations as they bet big on AI. Avowed, the upcoming RPG game from Pillars of Eternity and Fallout New Vegas developer Obsidian, originally had multiplayer co-op but the feature was scrapped, well before the Avowed release date was even announced. With little else known about Avowed, apart from its link to Obsidian’s development DNA, it’s incredible to hear how the project has changed over time.

The Secret Invasion finale came with a major Super Skrull moment – but it has everyone puzzled.

Incidentally, this black hole was also found to be smaller than any known in the early universe. This was just one of many discoveries that highlighted how mysterious the world of black holes is. Now, a NASA mission has found a supermassive black hole that is spraying a jet of highly powerful bursts of energy. And to make matters worse, the jet is directed at the Earth. These events are dubbed blazars.

Following the fast and psychedelic fingertip shooting of Into The Pit, developer Nullpointer Games are now slowing things down with their next project. The team shook together turn-based tactics, tower-defence elements, and a graphic novel style, and the resulting cocktail is Void Warden. See how it sort of works in the teaser below.

Invincible, the comic series created by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, came back in a big way after the success of its animated series, which released on Amazon Prime in 2021. It's an ultra-violent yet colourful and creative story, one that parodies superhero tropes without outright condemning them.

As spotted by IGN, it's been confirmed at an interview at San Diego Comic-Con last week that JK Simmons—face of Spiderman's J. Jonah Jameson in multiple movies—will be reprising his role as Invincible's Omni-Man for Mortal Kombat 1's DLC.
