As promised, Grinding Gear Games delivered a major Path of Exile 2 update at ExileCon 2023, hosted yesterday in Auckland, New Zealand. To begin with, the developer clarified that Path of Exile 2 will be a full sequel instead of being considered a mere standalone campaign as originally announced.

"It's been a really long time coming," Grinding Gear Games' co-founder and Path Of Exile 2 creative director Jonathan Rogers tells RPS, but their new action RPG will be getting its first closed beta on June 7th 2024. The news was announced at tonight's ExileCon, where the developers also showed off a big new chunk of the game that focused on its two new classes, the monk and the sorceress - and it looks to be shaping up very well indeed. As for a final launch, however, Rogers isn't quite ready to put a date on that yet.

Payday 3 is now just under two months away from its full release, but you can try the game as early as next week.

Ashfall is a Fallout-inspired MMO set in a world left devastated by—of course—nuclear war. As one of the few survivors of that war, players are forced to leave the safety of their shelter and venture out into the wasteland in search of the Core of Creation, «the key to saving what remains of the world.» That's pretty much a straight lift from Fallout 2, but Ashfall branches out from its post-nuclear roots into what Netease describes as an «Eastern-inspired wasteland.»

Payday 3 is releasing on Sept. 21, and developer Starbreeze is planning to launch a closed beta for the game on Aug. 2 to iron out remaining wrinkles in its online co-op sequel. The closed beta will run on Steam and Xbox Series X through Aug. 7, and those who are interested in a chance to try the game can sign up now at the links above. On Steam, select “Request Access” near the buy button for the game. For Xbox players, get the Xbox Insider Hub, then navigate to previews and select Payday 3.
