Zenless Zone Zero , the upcoming new urban fantasy ARPG from HoYoVerse, is opening up a new round of closed beta testing.
Announced with a new video, the second closed beta, also known as the “equalizing test” is coming soon, and the team is taking signups. This time around, there are a number of content updates and additions, with other changes like new story, redesign combat mechanics, and even more additions and overhauls to the city of New Eridu, that big space you'll be spending most of your time in.
New Eridu was formed after an event known as The Hollows, when people used technology and resources to follow the disaster with a new beginning of sorts. In Zenless Zone Zero, you take on the role of a Proxy, helping people to explore Hollows. This is just the setup, as there’s still mystery surrounding the event and the city’s rise, so this is where you come in. You’ll meet others and adventure together to investigate those mysteries and find out more, battling enemies and taking on challenges along the way.
The build that will be available for the second closed beta test also includes more playable characters to test out, and even more areas to explore. There will be a new story chapter, focused on one of ZZZ’s major factions, Belobog Heavy Industries. The Proxy Network, Inter-Knot, will be available to try out, and you’ll be able to take commissions, play minigames, and even pet some animals.
Clearly, the team has added a significant amount of new stuff to get in and test, whether you prefer exploration, narrative content, or the in-between activities.
