If you've been a fan of Bethesda games for a while, you'll more than likely be well aware of the Invisible Dawnstar Chest glitch from Skyrim. Over a decade ago, one lucky Skyrim player found a seemingly invisible chest packed to the brim with powerful and expensive items, tucked away inside of a random cliff in Dawnstar. This was actually a chest filled with a nearby merchant's inventory, but was accidentally placed too close to the surface, letting fans pilfer the contents of an entire shop without punishment.
Fast forward over a decade to the release of Starfield and this same conundrum has happened yet again, and it's the owner of Shepherd's General Store in Akila City that will never get another penny from potential shoppers ever again. First shared by Twitter user JamieMoranUK, a glitch has been found that revolves around a seemingly innocuous puddle. Crouch up to it at the right angle, and you'll be greeted with a huge list of items, which just so happens to be the entire inventory of Shepherd's General Store.

Of course, this is all out in the open, so you may want to make sure you have some kind of stealth option activated so you're not immediately hauled to jail. Better yet, this can be done multiple times since it's a shopkeeper's inventory, so all you need to do is go and wait somewhere else for 48 hours and then come back to even more goodies. You could even sell your ill-gotten gains back to Shepherd's General Store to really rub it in.
If you're wondering why this is even a thing, this is something that Bethesda does in an attempt to stop you from looting all of the stores in its games. Instead of placing a shop's inventory in the shopkeeper's pockets, Bethesda chooses to place a chest just underneath the shop in question to act as an impenetrable vault. It's supposed to be impenetrable anyway, but every now and again a crack will open and fans happily help themselves to what is essentially an infinite money generator.
It's possible that Bethesda might patch this at some point in the future, but given you can still access the Dawnstar chest in Skyrim, it's possible it doesn't even care about the discovery. Starfield is a single-player game after all, and if you want to fill your boots with stolen items, then go right ahead.
