Reused Starfield character model leaves players feeling déjà vu

Starfield is already the best-looking and most bug-free Bethesda RPG to date. From the crowded streets of New Atlantis to the desolate plains of all those undiscovered planets, it’s sharp, smooth, and a worthy visual successor to the likes of Fallout 4 and Skyrim. But now the Settled Systems can look even better, thanks to a huge new Starfield HD overhaul mod which boosts dozens of textures to 8K resolution.

has a vast multitude of companions that space adventurers can meet and recruit to their group. While some have deep and emotional storylines, others have funny personalities or are cool to have around. However, outside the core four Constellation members of Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, Barrett, and Andreja, the game's other potential ship crew candidates don't get the love they deserve. So far, space adventurers have found a total of 27 different recruitable companions in .

It’s easy to get lost in the massive world of , but there are some important locations every player should know. Discovery is a significant aspect of the gameplay loop, which leads to some excellent moments. However, this means that some may not find particular locations that could have been of great value at an earlier point in their playthrough. It can also be overwhelming to keep track of the enormous number of points of interest in the game, which is further complicated by the lack of a legend and filter tool on the star map.

Owning a Starfield penthouse has one notable downside: you risk losing everything if the property is stationed in New Atlantis. 

Earlier this week, Rockstar quietly added a 60fps toggle to Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 5. The game, which was released back in August for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, can be played on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility. Feel like going for a dip in Starfield? Then you might want to avoid this particular planet. It has a lake or ocean that’s so corrosive that it instantly kills the animals in it. What were they doing there? That’s a question you should perhaps ask Bethesda.

A lot changes in 's New Game Plus, but there's one character whose identity isn't even revealed until the player has completed the game at least once. New Game Plus in can be activated after finishing a run of the main quest. It carries over the player's levels, Traits, and Perks, but forces them to leave behind all items and credits they've gathered. It also unlocks some new, prescient dialogue options to use in repeat playthroughs. That's why many say the true experience doesn't begin until several hundreds of hours into the game, when the main campaign has been completed and new content is unlocked.

Resident Evil 4 Remake finally has the Separate Ways expansion, launched earlier this week. As well as letting players take the role of Ada and follow her own story, it also gives dataminers a bunch of new files to glean over - and one discovery and piqued the fanbase's interest.

Starfield has a pretty decent range of clothing for all you fashionistas out there, but every now and then you'll spot an NPC wearing a particularly attractive suit or outfit that puts your own threads to shame. If you were playing Skyrim, you could simply get into your best sneaking position and attempt to undress the person where they stand, but Starfield has no feature that allows you to swipe the clothes that NPCs are wearing. Even murdering them doesn't let you take the clothes off their body.

Over on the No Man's Sky subreddit, fans think they've uncovered a little nod to the game in Starfield. Given how similar the two are - what with you flying across the stars to map procedurally generated planets where you can set up shop and gather resources - an easter egg like this makes sense.
