Starfield is already the best-looking and most bug-free Bethesda RPG to date. From the crowded streets of New Atlantis to the desolate plains of all those undiscovered planets, it’s sharp, smooth, and a worthy visual successor to the likes of Fallout 4 and Skyrim. But now the Settled Systems can look even better, thanks to a huge new Starfield HD overhaul mod which boosts dozens of textures to 8K resolution.
Just over a month since launch, the best Starfield mods are a goldmine of combat, inventory system, and spaceflight improvements – as well as the occasional Thomas the Tank Engine and Shrek reskins. Between Starfield cities and Starfield planets, there’s so much visual wonder in Bethesda’s sprawling RPG game that naturally you want it all to look as good as possible. The new Starfield HD overhaul mod promises just that.
Created by ‘luxor8071,’ the straightforwardly named Starfield HD Overhaul sharpens, improves, and enhances myriad textures to new resolutions between 2K and 8K. Akila City, New Atlantis, and Neon have all been completely reworked, alongside water, concrete, the interiors of stores like Terrabrew and Galbank, and even the deepest reaches of space itself. Take a look at the image below to get a deeper sense of how luxor has retooled Starfield’s visual details.
It’s those little tweaks, the subtle changes that maybe you don’t notice outright but hit you subconsciously, that can really make an open-world game like Starfield come to life. If you want to get Starfield HD Overhaul it’s available on Nexus Mods right now.

With God of War, Horizon, Spider-Man, and other blockbusters happily taking root on PC, I can only assume that the continued absence of Bloodborne from our platform of choice is due to either a mummy's curse or Sony executive spite, but who needs it anyway? Bloodborne's true form—Bloodborne Kart—now has a proper release date, meaning we can turn Yharnam into our own personal Rainbow Road incredibly soon.
Nintendo has revealed the latest batch of games joining Nintendo Switch Online, and one game stands out in particular as a surprising, but welcome, addition.
The Pattman.
Any well-read fan of The Lord of the Rings will know that the main action in JRR Tolkien's book series took place in the Third Age of Middle-earth, with most of the major adaptations over the years (including the Peter Jackson films) sticking to that time period.
If you've somehow missed out on developer Dennaton Games' classic Hotline Miami series — or are just looking for another excuse to revisit its woozily eccentric mayhem — you might like to know both games are now natively available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
If you're super-excited for the release of Alan Wake 2 later this month, but can't quite recall the events of the first game (entirely reasonably seeing as the original version came out over a decade ago), Fortnite of all places might have the answer. Epic has whacked a free playable 20-minute Alan Wake recap episode that should serve as a refresher while offering a bit of spooky battery gobbling fun along the way.
As part of a submission to the Jump Ship Game Jam, Slay the Spire devs Mega Crit Games just released a new free-to-play deckbuilder that wasn't made with Unity.
Last time we were messing around with Ryujin, we infiltrated Celt Corp, planted a bug, and dipped before anyone found out. In this next exciting episode (mission) in Starfield, you are taking to the stars, heading to Akila, and slipping some damning evidence in a locker just before an audit. It’s all go in the word of corporate espionage.
I adore the user interface of Cyberpunk 2077. Developer CD Projekt Red manages to blend effective communication of player information like health, ammunition, and cyberware opportunities with an immersive and sleek style that’s Night City’s own. The same goes for most weapons; looking down scopes can tell you distances and ammo counts, and often plays with your perception to involve you in the world around you. The problem is, this can sometimes be way too distracting to take in during a hectic firefight, so one modder has solved the problem.
Some beautiful sicko out there just managed to acquire a brand-new Wii U console at retail, the first time anyone has made such a purchase for the better part of a year-and-a-half.
GTA 6 might be the most anticipated game ever. More than ten years since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5, and with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online seemingly finished, we’re all waiting for the next Rockstar Games sandbox, which apparently marks a return to Vice City. A new age rating for Grand Theft Auto 6 has just been discovered online, and on the surface it hints that official GTA 6 news could be on the way. After some digging and investigating, though, I’ve discovered that something is seriously amiss.
