The massive studio holds video game rights for several of the most popular anime series, including the Dragon Ball franchise, Naruto, and Digimon. Now, one of the publisher's lesser-known games has suddenly been removed from Steam, making it unavailable on modern platforms.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Dimps have announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 24. Those who already own the PS4 or Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade to the current-gen versions of the game, while also hanging on to all of their save data.

Bandai Namco has announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ will officially launch on current-gen consoles later this month. Tomorrow, in fact.

After announcing it in August 2022, Arc System Works’ Dragon Ball FighterZ is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on February 29th. Both versions will be available at midnight local time (depending on your region) and include rollback netcode.

GamesRadar has announced that the Future Games Show Spring Showcase will return on March 21st. Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Crafts & Meister will host a Japanese closed network test for the newly announced Gundam Breaker 4 on March 15 and 17 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, the companies announced. It will be playable from 11:00 to 12:59, 16:00 to 17:59, and 21:00 to 22:59 JST each day. Users can apply to join the test via this link from now until March 4 at 23:59 JST.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree promises to explore the “dark secrets” of the world, shining more light on the mythos. However, director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that its ending won’t change the base game’s progression of events (and vice versa).

When Elden Ring was first announced, the collaboration between director Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R.R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame got many curious. Martin’s contribution focused on the overall setting and backstory, with the current events handled by FromSoftware’s narrative team.

As one of the best-reviewed games of all time and with more than 23 million copies shipped worldwide, Elden Ring has been an enormous success for developer FromSoftware, which means it’s only natural to assume that the studio isn’t going to be done with this IP anytime soon in the near future. However, according to FromSoftware boss and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki, currently, there are no plans in place for a second expansion following the June release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, nor for a full-fledged sequel.

With Shadow of the Erdtree serving as the first paid expansion for Elden Ring (and FromSoftware’s largest yet), many assume it will provide a tougher challenge. It’s a pattern with the developer’s previous expansions, as seen in Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters.

Alongside its first gameplay trailer, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree received several new details courtesy of an interview with FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki. He confirmed to Eurogamer that the Land of Shadow, a brand new map, has a similar structure to The Land Betweens and offers new Legacy Dungeons.

After more than a decade of wowing the industry with its gene-defining Soulslike games, last year, FromSoftware brought the Armored Core franchise back with Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon. The mech action title received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, but is the wait for the next game in the series going to be as long as it was for Armored Core 6? Just shy of two years since the launch of FromSoftware's magisterial open-world action-adventure, publisher Bandai Namco has confirmed it'll be sharing more on the game's eagerly awaited DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, later today, with early rumours pointing to a June launch.

Almost two weeks after announcing that it sold 2.7 million units, Bandai Namco’s Tales of Arise has reached over three million players. The action RPG launched in September 2021 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and PC, and recently joined PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium and Game Pass.

FromSoftware took the extremely influential Dark Souls formula open world with its magnum opus, Elden Ring, ably assisted in this by publisher and co-IP holder Bandai Namco. Now, it appears that potentially, thanks to that significant injection of cash from Sony and Tencent to a 30% stake, FromSoftware is the sole proprietor of the IP, with Bandai Namco transferring ownership rights back in April 2023.

FromSoftware has acquired the rights to the Elden Ring trademark from Bandai Namco. As caught by VideoGamesChronicle, a document submitted to the US Patent and Trademark Office indicates that the Elden Ring developer has acquired full rights to the game’s name from its publisher.

Coming off of 2022’s biggest game in Elden Ring has been a tricky time for Bandai Namco, it seems. The publishers have announced that they have cancelled “at least” five games in the works to help overcome a significant drop in income over the last year, adopting a new approach to development that will focus on quality.

It might not seem like it, but Tekken 8 has been out for a few weeks now, and gamers have been talking about it and showing it off ever since its arrival. You’ve likely seen memes of the various characters in numerous outfits to “imitate” certain classic characters from other franchises. It’s all rather hilarious. FromSoftware is a massive name; I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. But arguably, their most prominent release into the marketplace was Elden Ring. This is also one of their latest releases into the market, and it has an expansion in the works. So, fans eager to dive into new content will hopefully have something available sooner rather than later. But in a surprise report that we are getting from Reddit, it seems that FromSoftware might have obtained the full rights to Elden Ring from Bandai Namco due to the studio having funding investments from Sony and Tencent.

As arguably the biggest anime and manga franchise on the planet right now, all publisher Bandai Namco had to do was put together a serviceable adaptation of Gege Aktusami’s modern-day sensation and reap the rewards. Regrettably, the dismal Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is the worst kind of tie-in: a vapid cash grab clearly developed on a shoe-string budget with few redeeming features for existing fans or fascinated newcomers alike.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch on June 27 in Asia and June 28 worldwide, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Groove Box Japan announced. The PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions will also launch on June 27 in Japan. The PC version will launch via Steam sometime in 2024.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. have revealed 24 fighters for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and they're all Goku and Vegeta. Unsurprisingly, considering Goku and Vegeta are the two main characters in the Dragon Ball Z saga (amongst others like Gohan, for example), Spike Chunsoft is giving players the chance to fight using their various forms. This includes Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Majin Vegeta, and more.
