2023 might be coming to a close, but it looks like the constant stream of major new game releases isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The first few months of 2024 have a number of heavy hitters lined up for launch, with Tekken 8 being one of the biggest ones, and ahead of the fighter’s imminent release, players will get the chance to sample some of its offerings soon.

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has much going for it, from the Story Mode (with story digests for past titles to catch players up) to the new Arcade Quest and Super Ghost Battles. However, it also features a returning feature – My Replay and Tips – with significant changes to help players improve.

Tekken 8 is getting a demo for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC ahead of its January 26 release date, Bandai Namco has announced.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft have officially announced Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). A release date was not announced.

Over three years ago, at Gamescom in August 2020, Reflector Entertainment announced its debut project in Unknown 9: Awakening, an action-adventure title that will put players in the shoes of Haroona, a young girl from Kolkata, India with mysterious powers. Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao has provided an update on the game’s upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree.

FromSoftware’s first paid expansion forElden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, was announced his year for consoles and PC. However, no gameplay, details or a launch date have been revealed thus far. However, parent company Kadokawa Corporation said development is “proceeding smoothly” last month, a statement echoed by producer Yasuhiro Kitao during the PlayStation Partner Awards 2023 in Japan.

Bandai Namco’s Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, the latest entry in the arena fighter series, launched recently and has received mixed reviews from players. Not only is the story mode a step down from previous entries and several major fights missing, but there have also been complaints about the voice work.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Arc System Works will host a Dragon Ball FighterZ rollback netcode public beta test for PC via Steam from November 30 to December 1, the companies announced. All users who own the game on Steam will be able to participate.

The upcoming PC requirements for Tekken 8 are now available on Steam.

Bandai Namco has revealed the PC requirements forTekken 8 on the game’s Steam page, and they’re slightly higher than the closed network test. Along with requiring Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 12, players will need a whopping 100 GB of available space. A solid-state drive isn’t required, but that could change.

Earlier this month, with the reveal of newcomer Reina, Bandai Namco unveiled the full lineup of the 32 base characters that Tekken 8 will launch with a couple of months from now, and the publisher is now back to releasing gameplay trailers for characters that have been previously confirmed but haven’t received their own dedicated showcases.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will soon be five years old, but the flight combat game has continued to sell at a steady pace in that time. Bandai Namco has announced that the game has now sold over 5 million units worldwide, up from 4 million units almost exactly a year ago, indicating consistent sales for the title.

Several big titles are launching next year, and Bandai Namco’s Little Nightmares 3 is undoubtedly one of them. Coming to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC, it’s developed by Supermassive Games instead of Tarsier Studios and takes place in a new location – The Spiral. In a new video, producer Coralie Feniollo offered details about the sequel and its setting.

Bandai Namco has been collaborating with Nintendo on a number of the latter’s projects for several years running now, and now the company has cemented that partnership in a much more official capacity with the formal announcement of Studio 2 and Studio S, a team dedicated primarily to working on projects commissioned by Nintendo.

Consistent character trailers over recent weeks have filled up Tekken 8’s base roster in impressive fashion, and though the majority of these have been known quantities and fan favourites, a handful of newcomers have been revealed as well, with the likes of Jack-8, Azucena, and most recently, Victor Chevalier. Now, Bandai Namco has revealed the fourth and final new character in Tekken 8, named Reina.

Tales of Arise enjoyed solid critical reception upon its release a couple of years ago, and the action RPG has continued to sell well in the time since then. Over two years since its release, Tales of Arise’s first expansion, Beyond the Dawn, is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Set after the main story, it sees Alphen, Shionne, and their allies encountering the mysterious Nazamil. As the daughter of a Renan Lord and Dahnan Slave, they seek to protect her and perhaps change her fate. Check out the launch trailer below, though be warned of spoilers for the base game.

Sony has revealed the lineup of games that will be free with PlayStation Plus Essential for the month of November in a post published on the PlayStation Blog, and there are a couple of notable titles included that might catch your eye.

FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon has earned critical acclaim, but its sales are somewhat of a mystery. It topped the weekly sales charts in Japan with over 163,000 units sold, becoming the second-biggest launch in the series, but the total number of units sold worldwide is unknown. However, voice actor Ryo Shimokawa, who played Pater (V.VIII), seems to know.

Sand Land grabbed a hold of my attention unexpectedly after its reveal this summer, and I’ve been waiting for more news on the upcoming RPG since. Developed by ILCA and published by JRPG king Bandai Namco Entertainment, Sand Land is shaping up to be nothing short of exciting. The new game is inspired by Akira Toriyama’s manga of the same name. If you don’t know who Toriyama is, he is the creator of Dragon Ball and pretty much a deity among dedicated manga readers.
