FromSoftware Has No Plans “at This Point” for Elden Ring 2 or Another Expansion

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Gme Studio will host a closed beta test for SYNDUALITY: Echo of Ada from March 28 through April 1 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, the companies announced. Registration is available here: North America / Europe / Japan.

FromSoftware director Hidetaka Miyazaki would love to make more games that are as big as Elden Ring, which is sure to be music to the ears of many fans.  

Let Me Solo Her, the legendary Elden Ring player who has helped countless others to defeat the hardest boss in the game, might finally move on from his crusade upon the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. This much anticipated expansion, which is expected to introduce even more tough opponents, will drop in mid-2024.

Elden Ring players are flummoxed over FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki's tease that one final secret still exists within the two-year-old game.

A new combat system in ’s DLC will likely change how players approach difficult challenges with bosses and mini-bosses in the additional content for the game. The long-awaited expansion was announced back in February 2023, a year after the base game’s original release. At the time, little information was provided other than the title itself and artwork featuring a blonde character mounted on a Spirit Steed, with an alternative version of the Erdtree far in the distance. Now, more information has been uncovered with the DLC’s gameplay reveal trailer.

Inspired by the Shadow of the Erdtree gameplay reveal trailer, a talented Elden Ring fan completes an impressive painting based on the setting of the new DLC expansion, the Land of Shadow. The Elden Ring painting depicts the Erdtree and the mythical shadow covering the new region that players will soon explore this June.

FromSoftware is eager to keep making Armored Core games, although another entry in the franchise won't see the light of day anytime soon. This teaser hinting at the company's future plans was offered as part of a recent retrospective on Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.

Just when fans thought they had explored everything in The Lands Between and were gearing up for their next journey in Elden Ring, FromSoftware has revealed that there is a secret yet to be discovered. In the past few days, the Elden Ring community has been parsing the Shadow of Erdtree DLC trailer for more lore-related hints, but it seems like there is some work left to be done in the base game as well.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Crafts & Meister will host a Japanese closed network test for the newly announced Gundam Breaker 4 on March 15 and 17 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, the companies announced. It will be playable from 11:00 to 12:59, 16:00 to 17:59, and 21:00 to 22:59 JST each day. Users can apply to join the test via this link from now until March 4 at 23:59 JST.

The folks over at FromSoftware have made new headlines this week, all thanks to a recent trailer drop. Elden Ring fans were treated to a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Shadows of the Erdtree. This would be DLC for their behemoth of a hit, Elden Ring. But for some fans, there might be some hope that Armored Core might not become a dormant franchise again. Fortunately, this franchise doesn’t look like it will be shelved for the long haul.

Elden Ring is considered by many to be the definitive FromSoftware experience, with its dark medieval setting of deep lore penned in part by fantasy author George R.R. Martin. The brutal open-world RPG quickly became a favorite for fans of the developer’s Dark Souls franchise due to its massive boss fights and unforgiving combat. Elden Ring only became more popular with the launch of the Steam Deck, thanks to its excellent performance. And the wins keep coming, with the first expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, due to launch this summer and set to add new story beats, bosses, and build-crafting options.
