In a sporting upset that will leave fans across the world gobsmacked, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealthproducer Hiroyuki Sakamoto settled one of gaming's ultimate questions: who would win in a Segway race; Cloud Strife or Yakuza's own Ichiban Kasuga?
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto has revealed some of the thinking behind the upcoming game's new Animal Crossing-inspired minigame.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is going to big a big change for the popular Japanese crime drama series. Sure, the last mainline game already made the shift to a new lead character, new city and jumped from action adventure to tactical RPG gameplay, but Infinite Wealth will see the story take place outside of Japan for the first time, and promises to be the final chapter in Kiryu Kazuma’s story. Again.
Yakuza is a storied franchise that keeps on giving. Each installment in the series leading to 2020’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon has offered something new and innovative, along with consistently satisfying expansions to the evergrowing story of main characters Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga.
Chrono Trigger's original developers have offered some huge praise for Sea of Stars.
It’s not enough that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has Dondoko Island, arcade games, randomly arranged dungeons and numerous other activities, but there’s also Sujimon. The Pokemon-like activity involves capturing Sujimon throughout Hawaii, training them and fighting in 3v3 battles.
It’s the beginning of a new year, and despite being a weaker month usually for releases, there’s a selection of highly anticipated January 2024 games to look forward to. From intense fights in Tekken 8 to the calmer, puzzle-based Another Code: Recollection, there’s something for everyone.
Not content with aping Animal Crossing in its off-the-wall island building minigame, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will also add a Pokémon-inspired experience to its ever-expanding list of things to do. Sujimon, as its known, will see you collecting eclectic characters from all around Hawaii, and training them to create the ultimate team. Your goal is to dethrone the existing champions of the Sujimon battle world: the Discreet Four and the Sujimon Master.
Yakuza took a huge turn with Like a Dragon, the soft reboot staring the equally as soft (and loveable) Ichiban Kasuga. The brawler combat rooted in fighting games was no more, swapped out for a traditional, turn-based system. Most loved it, but there were, of course, detractors.
The official website for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, RGG Studio’s next mainline entry for the franchise, has been updated with new details. It discusses the Dungeons that players will venture to, both in Hawaii and Yokohama, which serve as “the strongholds of various ruffians” (translation via DeepL).
Ubisoft’s open-world multiplayer driving game The Crew will switch off its servers next spring, just shy of the series’ 10th anniversary. The shutdown will leave the car-based MMO impossible to play, with the game pulled from sale ahead of the move.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's new trailer has reignited hope among fans that Kiryu might one day find love - and with one particular person.
The Crew Motorfest has been plugging away in the background since its launch in September. Ubisoft's typically fantastic post-launch support has kept the open world racer packed with things to do and rewards to earn. Now, though, Season 1 is drawing to a close as the game prepares for Season 2, which gets started tomorrow, 6th December 2023.
Ubisoft has announced that The Crew Motorfest is partnering with motorsports brand Hoonigan for Season Two.
Alongside a new trailer showing what Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will sound like in English, Sega also confirmed Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name's English dub will release for free this month. The new trailer shows scenes that will be familiar to anyone who watched the Japanese trailer back in September, but it's nice to hear familiar voices connected to this new footage. The trailer also gives us a chance to hear Daniel Dae Kim's Masataka Ebina and Danny Trejo's Dwight. Here's what Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has to say about the two characters.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s story trailer for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has received an English version, showcasing voice acting and localization. Daniel Dae Kim (who voiced Johnny Gat in Saints Row) will play Masataka Ebina, while the legendary Danny Trejo plays Dwight Mendez. Check out the trailer below, though beware of spoilers if you want to go in blind.
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is looking to start 2024 with a bang in January, and not only because the developers say it's so freaking long. As Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had already announced, it's also packing in performances by Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Hawaii Five-0) and Danny Trejo (Machete, Desperado) for the English version's voice over. During today's PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted, RGG brought out a new English language trailer with a first look at Kim and Trejo's roles.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth features the biggest map in the Yakuza franchise. Marking the series' first venture outside of Japan, the upcoming title will transport players to the tourist hotspot of Hawaii — Honolulu City, to be exact. Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio claims that the vast new stage is more than three times the size of Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Isezaki Ijincho, the suburb where the afro-haired Kasuga Ichiban was introduced. That means, the Hawaii map is nearly nine times the size of the Kamurocho district, the series' primary Japanese setting punctuated by shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, where we dabbled in action-packed illicit acts through the eyes of Kazuma Kiryu, the series' main protagonist who keeps getting pulled back into the life of crime.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's Hawaii will be the biggest Yakuza map to date, coming in at three times the size of Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Isezaki Ijincho and nine times the size of series mainstay Kamurocho.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has revealed fresh new details on Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the next mainline entry in the series. It’s set in Honolulu City, Hawaii, and a new tweet says the location is over three times bigger than Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s Isezaki Ijincho in Yokohama. While it sounds absurd, it does explain the eighth title being the series’ longest yet.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon was a very silly game in spite of its dramatic narrative, but its follow-up, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, looks to give it a run for its money. Between letting Ichiban ride a dolphin and its Animal Crossing-style city-building mode, fans of the franchise’s goofball nature should be in for a treat, and a new batch of screenshots highlight this.
SpaceX launched its mega rocket Starship but lost both the booster and the spacecraft in a pair of explosions minutes into Saturday's test flight.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, essentially Yakuza 8, features a classic role-playing game job system that lets players become a samurai, surfer, housekeeper, and more.
There is always going to be a question about “how long video games should be, and everyone will have a different answer to things. Some will say that if they’re “too long,” people won’t finish them, and that can be true depending on the game and the player. But don’t tell Atlus that, okay? In contrast, if a game is “too short,” many people may think they’ve wasted their money, which is not what anyone wants. So, with SEGA and the upcoming Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you might be surprised that this spinoff title will be the longest game in the franchise so far.
Through various experiments, scientists have known that while asteroids have the potential to cause catastrophic damage if they impact Earth, these objects can also become a resource hub. Scientists study asteroids to learn more about the early solar system and the conditions that existed when the planets were forming. However, an entirely new experiment could mean that asteroids may also protect Earth from the Sun's intense rays, mitigating climate change! This move, ideated by astronomer Istvan Szapudi, from the University of Hawai'i Institute for Astronomy, proposes a space-based solar radiation management (SRM) shield or shade that is tethered to an asteroid as a counterweight.
Packed with enough gadgets to cover a belt for Batman’s trousers, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name returns to the classic, combo-based street fighting that featured in earlier Yakuza games but enhances it with a fresh technological twist. This time the sharp side of the katana blades aren’t the only things that are on the cutting edge, as returning hero Kazuma Kiryu can employ a suite of state-of-the-art tools for taking out his tormentors as though he’s bypassed the weapons locker in favour of a trip to the Apple store. However, outside of the revitalised combat, almost everything in Gaiden’s toybox feels like a hand-me-down from an older sibling in the series, meaning once the fighting stops it quickly starts to feel a bit too familiar.
Like A Dragon Gaiden gives you access to the Infinite Wealth demo, and after playing through it, the Yakuza sicko in me is feasting like never before.
Kingdom Hearts fans think that Missing Link could be adding a new Lilo and Stitch world, as a green jungle area that appears in the latest trailer looks to be new.
It feels like pretty much the perfect time for a tropical getaway, doesn’t it? Well, that’s certainly what Wario thinks, as he heads off to Caresaway Island (reluctantly taking the whole WarioWare gang with him) for some fresh waggle-infused shenanigans in WarioWare: Move It!
Nothing is more versatile than the timeless greats of the role-playing genre. RPGs transport us to different worlds, giving us the chance to explore and shape a journey on our own terms.
MAUI, Hawaii—Let's start with a great big caveat: This is not your conventional benchmark testing story, at least as PCMag usually does them. We attended Qualcomm's 2023 Snapdragon Summit last week, and were regaled with session after session detailing advances in on-device AI, Qualcomm's ubiquitous Snapdragon smartphone chips, news around new cross-device info sharing and synchronicity. But most of all there is "Oryon": the company’s next-generation CPU core silicon that will scale from laptops (where it will make its first appearance in the company’s Snapdragon X Elite processor next year) eventually to smartphones, automotive applications, and more.
MAUI, Hawaii—At Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2023, PCMag sat down with two of the company’s senior leaders for a conversation around the star attraction of the first day’s keynote: Snapdragon X Elite, the first PC-compute iteration of the company’s new Snapdragon X family of mobile processors. Qualcomm has made some bold performance and efficiency claims around X Elite. They stand in stark contrast to the relative paucity of Snapdragon laptop-processor design wins to date (compared with Qualcomm's commanding position in smartphone chips). Many of the initial claims throw down the gauntlet to today’s big-three laptop chip makers (AMD, Apple, and Intel).
Fallout's co-creator has revealed where they'd like the post-apocalyptic series to head next.

Asteroid 2023 UV6 is expected to pass the planet at a distance of 3.9 million kilometers while travelling at a speed of 26329 kilometers per hour, as per the space agency. Here's all about Asteroid 2023 UV6.

MAUI, Hawaii—At the opening keynote of the 2023 Snapdragon Summit, Qualcomm representatives broke out the speeds and feeds in force and detailed the first SoC in the company's Snapdragon X Elite line, powered by its much-anticipated next-gen CPU core, code-named "Oryon." Teased earlier in the month, “Snapdragon X” is the branding for Qualcomm’s newest SoCs for PC compute, and the Snapdragon Elite X is the first issue, positioned as its premium solution. Outfitted for AI local processing and packing a host of efficiency-minded innovations, the Snapdragon X Elite built on Oryon is, according to Qualcomm, the punchiest processor for laptops that it has ever produced.
MAUI—Qualcomm says its newest Snapdragon Sound technology will bring premium audio experiences to the next generation of mobile headphones.
All it took was the bang of a hammer – and Tord Reklev is £70,000 (NZ$147,000) richer. Not a bad profit for selling a single Pokémon card.
It’s been a busy week in the gaming industry, with big game releases, a new PS5 and, after months of to-ing and fro-ing, Microsoft finally completed their acquisition of Activision Blizzard to the tune of $68.7 billion!

While there have been plentiful driving games over the years, what advancements in technology have granted developers in recent years has served the expansion of the genre well. One of the main beneficiaries is the scale of the worlds we can navigate, leading to greater numbers of open-world driving/racing titles – and the Xbox One platform played host to some of the absolute best of these titles. So with that, these are the 11 best Xbox One Open World Racing/Driving Games
Qualcomm is adopting a new "naming architecture" for the next generation of its consumer and commercial PC platform.
Ubisoft’s The Crew Motorfest has landed, a four-wheel festival of racing based on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. I have been holidaying in Oahu for the last sixteen years and technically lived there for over six months so I know the island like the back of my hand and I can tell you, it does not lend itself to racing.
Did you know that artificial intelligence (AI) is aiding in the discovery and study of asteroids? After aiding various industries across sectors such as education, healthcare, engineering and more, AI could also potentially help protect Earth against asteroids. According to a study published by the University of Washington, an algorithm, named HelioLinc3D, helped researchers discover a potentially hazardous asteroid. Asteroid 2022 SF289, which is almost 600 feet wide, was discovered during the algorithm's test in Hawaii and has not been deemed as dangerous in the foreseeable future.
It’s time for another festival of motorsports, but someone else is running the show this time around. The Crew Motorfest is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s driving series, and following the Crew 2’s shift into multisport after the original’s gang-based narrative, Motorfest turns yet another corner, arriving in a kind of festival spot that Forza Horizon has made its calling card in recent years. It’s an interesting design decision and one which may have you wondering, at what point does influence become imitation?
We're nearly into The Spooky Month, otherwise known as October, otherwise known as the month with all the games. There's a lot of stuff on the horizon to be excited about, but what are we playing in the meantime? Time to find out.
I had assumed that the Like a Dragon formula could only thrive in the Japanese settings inspired by Tokyo, Osaka, and Yokohama, but after having a 20-minute hands-on with the game at Tokyo Game Show I can confidently say that the series’ signature streetfighting and silliness has stayed strong in its switch to a sun-kissed Hawaiian island without missing a beat - or indeed a beatdown.

Sega’s next game in the Like A Dragon franchise, formerly known in the West as Yakuza, is coming in January. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth sends the franchise to Hawaii, where protagonist Ichiban Kasuga travels in search of his mother, only to wind up penniless and at rock bottom. Former Yakuza hero Kazuma Kiryu is also playable in Infinite Wealth, and based on Sega’s first gameplay trailer for the next Like A Dragon game, everything the duo will do is beyond ridiculous.

Sega's Like A Dragon Direct happened in the early hours for us UK netizens last night, which meant I woke up today to an absolute heap of flaming hot Yakuza news. Not only is Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth launching on January 24th next year, it's taking Ichiban and co. to the sunny island of Hawaii! Kiryu's back and in a battle with his biggest adversary yet. Back when we first saw Kiryu's return in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's first sneak peek, a lot of fans were taken aback by how different his look is compared to previous games. Rocking a new grey hair style, he was almost unrecognisable from even his biref appearance in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. We knew there had to be some reason behind it, but it turns out that it's down to the Dragon of Dojima's battle with cancer.

A prototype satellite that can beam internet to unmodified smartphones has reached a new record, delivering a 14Mbps download rate.
Ubisoft's premier racing franchise, The Crew, generally gets a bad rap. Developer Ivory Tower had very strong ambitions right from the starting grid, providing drivers with an open world approximating the entire United States of America. It's a great idea; roam the entire country from coast to coast with your pals, taking on challenges and building a varied collection of vehicles. The Crew 2 doubled down, even providing new ways to get around with boats and planes. For us, however, the execution was never really good enough, with a vapid open world and lacklustre driving. The Crew Motorfest is a different story.
A fair number of racing games are on the market to keep fans happy. With a great mix of arcade and simulation racers, the spread is impressive to suit your preference. In decades gone by, there were only a handful of top choices dominated by big-name developer houses. This has all changed again over the past 5-10 years, in which new challengers could carve out a fanbase. One such franchise has been The Crew, which impressed with its first game in 2014 and all but staked its claim as a top contender in 2017 with The Crew 2. With a much more extended waiting period between the first two games for its third instalment, The Crew Motorfest has finally landed, so here is the full review.
Around the launch of the Xbox Series X/S, there were a few strange products from Xbox, including the Xbox fridge. The latest gimmick from the company is the Xbox Mastercard, which is equally as unexpected but may provide more practical uses.
Not many things are better the smaller they get. Mortgages? Certainly. Golf scores? Sure. Kidney stones? Okay, yes. But video games? That’s more of a grey area. For The Crew Motorfest, developer Ivory Tower has chosen to give its chunky interpretation of the entire continental USA the chop in favour of something far more concise: a scaled-down riff of the single island of O’ahu, Hawaii. The result is better in some ways and worse in others, but overall it’s actually an experience that sometimes feels like it’s trying harder to emulate Forza Horizon than its own predecessors. I can’t say I blame them considering how much I loved Horizon 5, and they’ve done a good enough job at it that I’ve had many great moments in Motorfest over the past several days. It has the best handling in the series so far, and it does boast some incredibly strong lighting. However, while Motorfest is a mostly earnest romp for car lovers in a vibrant, tropical paradise, it definitely loses some momentum due to its confusingly dead world and slightly uneven campaign, and its omnipresent, baked-in microtransactions are a constant bugbear.
