Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the sequel to Yakuza: Like A Dragon, has a release date confirmed, and it is launching on January 26th, 2024. The new ten minute long trailer for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth confirms that Ichiban has ended up in Honolulu, Hawaii, taking him and the series out of Japan for the first time. He is on a quest to find his mother, but as you can guess not everything is as it seems. It seems a lot of people are trying to bring Inchiban down after the events of the first game, but a familiar face also comes to his aid. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth will have dual protagonists too with Ichiban as one, and series legend Kiryu Kazama as the other who has one final battle of his own to deal with. As it seems like this could be Kiryu’s last appearance in the franchise, a lot of his old allies turn up too.
A gameplay overview for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth has also been released, showing Honolulu in its glory. The overview shows how the fighting works, continuing the turn based approach from Yakuza: Like A Dragon, though you can now move characters around to take advantage of the environment. Poundmates also return to lend a hand in battle when it is required. Of course, minigames are back too. In Crazy Delivery, Ichiban is a food delivery guy cycling around Honolulu to get food to the people. Sujimon returns too and you can battle your Sujimon against others. Miss Match is a dating mini game, and of course classics like Karaoke return too.
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth pre-orders are available now. There are pre-order bonuses including Hero’s Booster Pack, making levelling up quicker, and the Special Job Set that adds Linebacker and Tennis Ace. The game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
