We're nearly into The Spooky Month, otherwise known as October, otherwise known as the month with all the games. There's a lot of stuff on the horizon to be excited about, but what are we playing in the meantime? Time to find out.
I'm still on a review, but I found a bit of time to boot up the revamped Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, and wow, it does finally feel like the game it was meant to be! Add to that today's big Baldur's Gate 3 patch, and there is very little reason for me to come up for air.
I've been on review duty for what feels like an age, and that won't be changing this weekend. I can't talk about the game I'm covering (yet!), but I can reveal my plans to play around in Cyberpunk 2077, which really has consumed me over the last few weeks.
I'll probably play Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways this weekend. That, and tell myself I'll finally finish Tears of the Kingdom before playing Street Fighter 6 all weekend.
I've been hopping in and out of The Crew Motorfest, so probably continue plugging away at that over the weekend. However, I'll be mostly playing one or two smaller games for review purposes, so my Hawaii road trip may have to take a backseat.
That's it from us, so it's over to you. What are you lot playing this weekend? Tell us, as always, in the comments section below.
Having grown up alongside PlayStation, Stephen has developed an eclectic taste in video games and a wide knowledge of the medium, from small indie gems to the biggest AAA blockbusters. Ever hopeful that the Burnout series makes a miraculous return.
This weekend is all about Lies of P! Really beautiful game that is kicking my ass!
And in the meantime, I will play some Powerslave/Exhumed (Switch) and some Painkiller: Black Edition on the Steam Deck!
Happy gaming!
I finished up starfield during the week, will wait for some mods to replay.
So going to give some of the stuff that dropped on Extra a try
Throwing goblins into other goblins on Baldurs Gate 3.
I guess I've been playing too much — My TV developed those wretched vertical lines on the right hand side of the screen last night. Absolutely brutal.
I'll be on my way in to the tv repair place soon.
When I'm back though, Baldur's Gate, Age of Ashes, then South Africa v Ireland.
I just finished Crisis Core but still have things to do for the plat. Man, it was a lot better than I expected. Nibelheim onwards is very good, except Genesis stuff, but it's the finale in particular where you think it's all cinematics after beating the final boss but then you end up playing as Zack again as you fight legions of Shinra infantry, knowing you're doomed. How they use the roulette wheel gameplay element as part of the story and emotional arc in that scene… Very moving and very Kojima-esque (like

Inscryption up to challenge level 8 on Kaycee’s mod now. The mantis god starter deck is kind of overpowered, particularly if you can get the flying sigil on it, but I don’t care. Quite fun playing around with other decks though.
How is it October already? A month of trick or treating and enormous game releases awaits, so you better be on top of that backlog or else! Here’s what we’re playing!
Free-to-play colossus Honkai: Star Rail is out now on PS5 following a hugely successful stint on mobile devices. From HoYoverse, the developer behind Genshin Impact, the turn-based RPG is another free-to-play romp, so we want to know if you've been tempted into giving it a try.
We're just days away from the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which means our WAYP is likely to take a very consistent shape for the first time in eons. We should make the most of the variety this time, then, eh?
If you’re looking forward to Lords of the Fallen, you should definitely give a shot at this new giveaway. CI Games, publishers of Lords of the Fallen, just announced an Alienware giveaway in partnership with Lords of the Fallen. This Souls-like dark fantasy action RPG releases on October 13, but before purchasing it yourself, you could earn it for free, alongside an Alienware laptop!
Two months after PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers began receiving invites to a PlayStation 5 cloud streaming beta, Sony has announced the feature will be getting its full launch on on 23rd October in Europe and 30th October in the US.
I do love a game that tells you upfront what it's about while making nary a lick of sense, and visual novel Stop Burying Me Alive, Beautiful is certainly that. You are, indeed, being buried alive. The person burying you is your girlfriend, who waves aside your protests that you aren't dead yet, pointing out that this is exactly what a dead person would say if they were trying to avoid being buried. Can't fault the logic.
All of Keywords Studios’ unionized QA workers were laid off from the studio in late September after Dragon Age: Dreadwolf developer BioWare declined to continue its contract in August.
John Carney plays the hits. Ever since his 2007 breakout indie Once, which catapulted beloved singer-songwriters Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová to massive fame, Carney has made musical dramas his calling card. The Irish writer-director delights in films about people connecting with each other over music, falling in love with song as they learn to love each other and themselves.
Square Enix has clarified the correct pronunciation of Final Fantasy 7 character Cait Sith.
