Microsoft has shown off a first look at Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's new island activity in a new trailer unveiled during the Xbox Partner Preview broadcast.
Developer RGG Studio Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto has added a build-your-own resort mode, which lets players play a number of activities while managing Dondoko Island. This is unlocked through a side-story that will be available at the start of Chapter 6.
In a post on Xbox Wire, RGG Studio Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto confirmed Dondoko Island is independent from the main story so you will be able to play through at your own pace. Expect loads of mini-games, once of which is called Crazy Delivery, Sujimon Battle. Here, you collect enemies and battle them via a dating app where you chat to find a match.
We previously got a chance to go hands-on with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which revealed an "idyllic new setting begging to be explored". The upcoming sequel will follow returning protagonist Ichiban Kasuga as he journeys to Hawaii for more mini-games, karaoke, and scraps with local gangsters. Sega has confirmed that the new environment will be three times larger than the Yokohama map featured in 2020's Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
In the meantime, Sega is preparing to release Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a prequel that will start series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu. You can read our full preview here, with a release date for November 9 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be out just a couple months later — January 26, 2024.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth won't require a high-end system to run well, judging from the game's official PC system requirements.
Shadows of Doubt is the voxel-based 1980s detective sim in which the glass is always rain-slicked, the coffee as bitter as the human soul, and the whodunnits, procedurally generated. Hard-nosed private eye Rachel (RPS in peace) pronounced herself fascinated but a little stumped by it, back in April, while Graham described it as his "ideal game" in a post about the recent addition of infidelity cases and lost-and-found jobs, adding to my suspicions that Graham is some kind of jigsaw killer and that his news posts are actually ciphered confessions of his terrible crimes.
The soundtrack for upcoming release Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has leaked online, following the release of Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name yesterday.
No longer will you be haunted by the hours you've spent playing HuniePop 2: Double Date.
The best part of Starfield is undeniably your spaceship, which can be customized or built from scratch to look like anything from a cute little ladybug to a massive Star Destroyer.
Like A Dragon Gaiden gives you access to the Infinite Wealth demo, and after playing through it, the Yakuza sicko in me is feasting like never before.
At Microsoft's Xbox Partner Preview showcase last night, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth kicked proceedings off with a new trailer revealing one of the new side hustles.
If you thought Yakuza minigames peaked with running an amateur baseball team, think again, as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealthis introducing Dondoko Island.
The Like A Dragon / Yakuza / Ryu Ga Gotoku series became a hit in Japan and the broader Western market thanks to its many quirky mini-games. While they initially seemed to be a distraction from the narrative campaign around Kazuma Kiryu, as the games went on they became more of a major focus of the franchise, as the fans became drawn to Sega’s quirky open world design around them.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has revealed the zany, chaotic Animal Crossing-style mode I've always dreamt of.
The Yakuza series, now renamed Like a Dragon, is known for minigames that are fun enough to yank attention away from the gangster melodrama for hours and hours. Nintendo's Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold more than 40 million copies since 2020 and was fun enough to yank attention away from everything else during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. You can probably see where this is going.
