Not when you compare new titles like The Quarry and Life is Strange versus classics like Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, Max Payne 1, and Half-Life. Heavy Rain, which essentially kick-started a whole genre back in 2010, was universally praised for its unique concept. Isn’t it time for Heavy Rain 2?

In its first major update of 2024, Teyon pulled back the curtain on a new update for RoboCop: Rogue City that went live on all available platforms. This new update added the highly anticipated New Game Plus mode, with a new cosmetic reward for players who unlock it, and a bonus difficulty to give RoboCop: Rogue City players an extra challenge.

Fans were surprised with the release of RoboCop: Rogue City. The game has grown a following, and while you might have finished the game already, the developers are giving you another reason to replay the game. If you’re itching to once again roam the streets of Detroit and take out the criminal scum, then check out the New Game Plus mode. It was unveiled earlier this month that the developers wanted to launch a New Game Plus mode soon. Today, we’re finally getting that mode with developers explaining what you need to do before it triggers. 

RoboCop: Rogue City is likely the best game the action hero has ever starred in. That bar isn’t tough to hurdle, but the adventure delivers plenty of thrills for fans to be excited about. This narrative-driven first-person shooter has a loving reverence for the films and a good understanding of its protagonist, swinging for the fences with a lengthy original story, fun references, and plenty of enjoyably cheesy humor. Unfortunately, like the franchise’s vision of Detroit, Rogue City is very rough around the edges, resulting in a flawed hero but one that’s ultimately entertaining to patrol with.

Well, that depends on if players are prepared to temper their expectations on what’s clearly not an expensively produced game.

Furthermore, the decisions RoboCop makes, have serious repercussions throughout the game, one of the most important decisions comes right at the end — what to do with the final boss.

With so many great games coming out in October, and even more upcoming, your bank account might want a bit of a break, pleading with you, «Is RoboCop: Rogue City on Game Pass?» — or at least imploring you to find the best price deals and cheap ways to play the game.

We were mightily impressed with Teyon’s adaptation, as seen in our review, and part of what makes it so great are the many characters bringing the world to life.

Developer Teyon has carved out a niche for itself creating video games based on ’80s action classics like Rambo: The Video Game and Terminator: Resistance. Its latest, RoboCop: Rogue City, continues the story of the beloved cyborg of Paul Verhoeven’s ultra-violent satire in a game that’s rife with reverence, but short on refinement.

How is it that the long-running franchise has suddenly manifested its best adaptation in years? Developer Teyon should be applauded, not just for making an enjoyable, substantive game that outshines most other attempts at this IP, but for taking such delicate care of the character and his world, resulting in possibly the finest overall narrative since the original film. The subtlest details of the art direction and sound design are a knockout, supported by a solid, if somewhat simple, FPS and action-RPG framework. The resultant package feels custom-built for devotees, overstuffed with tributes at nearly every step of the story, effectively surpassing its occasional misstep or bug.

Paul Verhoeven’s RoboCop was the film in my school that everyone under the age of eighteen wanted to watch but wasn’t allowed to. Fortunately for my friend and I, we managed to sneakily watch his Dad copy on VHS. As a naïve tweenager I was blown away by what I saw. The hyper-violence, the dark satire, and the coolest hero I’d ever laid eyes on; Robocop proved an explosive experience that only led to a handful of sleepless nights due to nightmares about melting faces. Since his iconic debut though, times have been hard for the cyborg cop. A series of lacklustre film sequels and an awful modern remake have all helped dull Robocop’s once-shiny armour. Step in RoboCop: Rogue City, the first video game starring the titular hero in years. Has developer Teyon’s latest FPS got what it takes to restore the RoboCop legacy? Well, unfortunately, no.

After I played the demo of RoboCop: Rogue City earlier this month, I mentioned I had never watched the RoboCop sequels. Because of recommendations from the comments on that article, I finally watched RoboCop 2, and I’m glad I did.

In the early to mid 2000s, it was popular to turn every survival horror game into a movie. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and… OK, maybe there weren’t that many actually. RoboCop has been badly mistreated by the video game medium. Outside of Data East’s very good 1988 arcade game, studios have condemned RoboCop to appear in mostly lousy licensed video game schlock over the past 35 years.

When RoboCop: Rogue City was announced and then we got our first glimpse of gameplay, we assumed that it was little more than a mission-based shooter. But no, there's actually a lot more to it, as the title's newest trailer shows ahead of its 2nd November release date.

As reported by Bloomberg, it's been revealed that CD Projekt used AI to replicate the voice of the late Miłogost Reczek, who voiced Night City's most reliable ripper doc, Viktor Vektor, in the base game's Polish localisation back in 2020.

When RoboCop: Rogue City was announced and subsequently delayed back in 2021 by Polish developer Teyon — the studio behind Terminator: Resistance and its sumptuously awkward first-person sex scene, no less — I can't, personally, say I was too optimistic.
