Baldur's Gate 3 Star Joins Cast of Fallout: London Mod

Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will go head-to-head once more at the BAFTAs, with both titles leading the way for nominations at this year’s show. Larian Studios’ phenomenal RPG secured an impressive 10 nominations overall, while Insomniac Games’ superhero sequel isn’t far behind, with nine. The two titles will compete with Alan Wake 2, Dave the Diver, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Bros Wonder for the Best Game accolade.

For now, they're unofficial third-party add-ons developed by the community, which means that when official updates roll out for the game itself, they often break. That's par for the course with modding, but some fans are sending threats to Larian over it.

In light of a recent social media backlash following the latest patch release for Baldur's Gate 3, a representative of Larian Studios has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to address the game's modding community directly. The tweet also gives fans a glimpse of something big coming to Baldur's Gate 3 later this year.

Patch 6 brought plenty of appreciable improvements to , but it seems like this particular update may not be going over as smoothly as many of its predecessors. It's not uncommon for game fixes to introduce problems of their own, as even careful meddling with complex code often runs into unintended consequences. For the most part, however, has avoided making things worse with major patches, and an early hotfix that caused crashes for some players made the studio revise its approach to pushing fixes in general in favor of extreme caution.
