Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is being heralded as the game that we deserved back in 2020, finally completing CD Projekt Red's vision of Night City. Alongside the version 2.0 update, Phantom Liberty overhauls almost everything about the game, from its combat and RPG mechanics, to how its NPCs interact with the world. But that doesn't mean it's without its issues.
Ever since its launch on September 26, the experience on console has been less than stellar. In fact, on Xbox Series S at least, it feels like the performance has worsened to accommodate all of the changes. From crashes to save files refusing to load, there's been no shortage of complaints from both PlayStation and Xbox users, even after the latest patch hoped to address many of these issues.

Playing through Phantom Liberty on Xbox Series S right now, I can very confidently say that the game ran much better without the version 2.0 update. This isn't too surprising, given how much new content has been added, but it's led to a return of performance issues more reminiscent of version 1.0, such as textures taking so long to load in that you find yourself walking into invisible objects, and even save files refusing to load. Overall, the framerate seems to have taken a hit too, especially in Dogtown.
This issue isn't exclusive to the less powerful Xbox Series S. In the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, numerous fans are complaining of issues on Series X, and even PS5 too. We already knew that PS5 users were having issues with save files corrupting, and unfortunately, the patch that fixed this couldn't restore the saves. However, both platforms seem to have an issue where the game doesn't detect Phantom Liberty being installed, and therefore, won't load any saves made after the expansion was started.
As for Xbox, some have shared texture glitches on the subreddit. I've experienced this myself, particularly with the player character's skin textures. NPC bodies can also be found levitating, although this may be an issue with whatever item they're sitting on not loading correctly. Other than this, the incorrect clothing is also showing up on V for whatever reason, usually fixing itself after I open the inventory screen.
With this in mind, CD Projekt Red still has a way to go to give Phantom Liberty the same level of polish that the base game had prior to the version 2.0 update. The game is still getting support, even if it's not getting another expansion, so hopefully, we won't be waiting much longer.

CD Projekt has released Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty Patch 2.02, which includes a number of quest and gameplay fixes as well as other general improvements.
I don't think I'm spoiling too much off the jump by saying that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's endings are emotionally charged and more than a little bit devastating. It is also a natural gamer behavior to goof around in such moments, but as reported by VG247, CD Projekt Red seems to have anticipated players attempting to bork one such scene, inserting hidden dialogue to reflect their apparent death drive. Spoilers for Phantom Liberty ahead.
's DLCgreatly expands on the base game's original map, including a variety of new hidden locations. adds a whole section to 's map: the lawless district of Dogtown. Once a planned, private resort getaway for Night City's well-to-do luminaries, Dogtown soon fell under the control of Kurt Hansen and his iron-fisted Barghest paramilitary gang. By the time V arrives, high rises and luxury shops are in total disarray, and anyone who isn't part of Barghest's rank and file is forced to live in fear. Their hidden stashes and abandoned apartments make up some of the DLC's most fascinating areas.
It took some time, but CD Projekt Red's troubled RPG finally has as much substance as it has style, in no small thanks to the recent Phantom Liberty DLC and patch 2.0.
Adding to the expansive arsenal available in the base game of , adds a number of new Iconic weapons to the game. While many can be found by simply playing through the DLC's story missions, the locations of others can be especially hard to pinpoint. Some weapons, for example, may only be made available through certain quests or decisions, while others might be hidden in subtle ways or placed in obscure locations. And, as Iconic weapons tend to have effects that can't be replicated by any other piece of gear, missing them may deprive a playthrough of unique gameplay.
And the main game has climbed to 25 million copies sold.
Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 might have made a lot of improvements to Cyberpunk 2077 but one new bug has introduced a haunted police car to Night City.
has added a new car as a tribute to famed rally driver Ken Block: the Quadra Type 66 «Hoon.» This particular variant of the Quadra Type 66 has been modified for rally driving, boasting a powerful engine and excellent handling both on and off-road. It also comes with mounted machine guns and armor plating for vehicle combat, making it an excellent choice for cruising the lawless streets of Night City.
Early in the DLC's main story for, V is faced with a difficult choice without a lot of time to make a well-thought-out decision. As is often the case with much of the game, there are many decisions that have to be handled which can affect other things down the line, and particularly when trying to roleplay it can be hard to know what the right choice is. Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.

Cyberpunk 2077's first (and last) expansion is out now on PS5. Phantom Liberty adds a whole new storyline and district to CD Projekt Red's open world RPG, and the initial reception has been incredibly positive. Of course, it helps that the base game has been significantly improved with Update 2.0 — which dropped just five days ago at the time of writing.
