Warhammer 40K: Darktide has had a problematic launch that forced the developer to fix the game before releasing new content and the Xbox Series S|X version. However, developer Fatshark hasn't thrown in the towel and is now presenting a major new feature that will go live in October: full-fledged RPG-style skill trees for each class.

Since developer Creative Assembly unveiled its Shadows of Change DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, the studio has come under criticism from the game’s playerbase because of high pricing for the upcoming DLC. For context, Shadows of Change is priced at $24.99, which puts it at around 40% of the price of the full game.

Total War: Warhammer 3's latest slice of DLC, Shadows of Change, is coming soon, on August 31, but among the game's community this has not been cause for celebration; rather, it's being treated as a threat thanks to a price increase and an explanation from Creative Assembly's Chief Product Officer, Rob Bartholomew. It looks like this means waaagh! 

The development team behind Warhammer 40K: Darktide has confirmed that an overhaul to the current class system is coming with new RPG elements inbound. No exact date has been offered, but it's believed to be coming before the game's anniversary on November 30. 

Creative Assembly has addressed a backlash to the price of new Total War Warhammer 3 DLC and called on players to stop directing abuse at staff.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is getting quite an overhaul to its leveling and skill system progression. According to PCGamer, developer Fatshark will be working on bringing a new skill tree to Darktide in October.

Nine months since launch, Warhammer 40K: Darktide sits on Steam with a «Mixed» review score, both in recent and all-time reviews. There were more than a few criticisms of Darktide at launch—the unfinished crafting system, the cosmetics store, crashes and performance issues—but one of the most common and consistent I've seen is that Darktide has only four character classes, compared to its predecessor Vermintide 2's five characters (with multiple subclasses apiece). Though Darktide does offer some nicely varied skills as you level up and weapons that dramatically change your play style, it was hard not to look at the class system as a downgrade from what Vermintide 2 players were used to.

Total War Warhammer 3 DLC Shadows of Change is causing a rift among the game’s community, with many players, YouTubers, and even a former Warhammer producer at Games Workshop offering their thoughts on the expansion’s price point. The DLC brings three new lords to the vast strategy game and its epic Immortal Empires campaign mode, but the Total War Warhammer 3 update is proving too pricey for many.

If you're bored of doing mundane things like «conquering settlements» in Total War: Warhammer 3, it sounds like the legendary lord being added to the Tzeentch roster in the upcoming Shadows of Change add-on might be for you. The Changeling is a shapeshifting daemon who, based on the latest Creative Assembly blog post, plays a totally different Total War.

Sega have formally unveiled the next steaming helping of Total Warhammer 3 DLC, Shadows of Change, which adds three Legendary Lords to this already-jam-packed strategy game: the Changeling for the demonic Tzeentch faction, Yuan Bo for Grand Cathay, and Mother Ostankya for Kislev, plus a brace of new campaign mechanics, units and battlefield abilities.

Total War Warhammer 3 Shadows of Change finally has a release date and full reveal, as the first of three upcoming Creative Assembly strategy game DLCs comes out later this month. There’s the Total War Warhammer 3 4.0 patch, free content, and the paid Legendary Lords, who we’ll break down below.

The next incoming Warhammer 40K Darktide update will bring a bunch of welcome changes to the co-op shooter.

Two very different, but absolutely essential Game Pass games are leaving the Microsoft service, as both Death Stranding and strategy game Total War: Warhammer 3 are getting the axe from the PC version of the subscription model later this month. Back in May, Creative Assembly showed off the Total War: Warhammer 3 roadmap. The Cathayan lord has now been confirmed as Yuan Bo, the Jade Dragon, via a short story CA is giving away. To read it you'll need to login to your Total War dashboard, and if you have trouble with that try doing it in incognito mode, which worked for me.

Warhammer 40k: Boltgun is one of the long-standing series’ most unique games, bringing with it an old-school charm reminiscent of the 90s. While it’s still an FPS game at its core, Boltgun stands out with its vibrant pixel art and frenetic gameplay. If you haven’t yet experienced Warhammer 40k: Boltgun since it was only released a couple of months ago, then this could be your chance to traverse its chaotic world as the game is currently marked down by 20% on Steam during a limited-time sale.

Realms of Ruin, the first RTS set in the world of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar - that’s the shiny fantasy sibling to Warhammer 40k’s gritty sci-fi universe - will see a host of improvements and fixes in the wake of its recent open beta, developers Frontier have promised. Among the biggest incoming changes are better balancing, UI polish and a fix to its most annoying issue of accidental retreats caused by shared key bindings.

If you’ve tried out Warhammer: Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin, you’ll probably have spotted that, well, the retreat and advance keys are the exact same. Given the RTS game‘s focus on fast-paced action, the current system is a little clunky, but following the Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin beta, Frontier is on the case.

Developer Complex Games and publisher Frontier Foundry have announced that the latest DLC for turn-based tactical strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, titled Execution Force, is out now on PC, and is priced at £12.99/$14.99/€14.99, depending on your region. Warhammer is many things, from being the most popular miniature war game in the world, to standing as one of the most successful series of PC titles to date. The series’ dedicated fanbase has looked forward to regular game releases for years now, and it looks like Games Workshop isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon. The company has just confirmed that nine new games are currently in the works, including the highly anticipated Space Marine 2 and Age of Sigmar – Realms of Ruin. Unfortunately, Darktide didn’t quite live up to the reputation of its predecessor, so if you’ve been reluctant to splash the cash on it but have always fancied testing out your Psyker skills on some heretics, then I have good news: it’s on sale, just ahead of the Space Marine 2 release date.

Developer Creative Assembly has released its first Developer Update for Total War: Warhammer 3, talking about some of the new additions being made to the game over upcoming updates. Key features discussed in the post are Immortal Empires-specific achievements, and tutorials for Immortal Empires.

Part of the fun of Warhammer 40,000 is that no one is really the “good guy” in the setting. Take the Imperium of Man, which largely serves as the point-of-view faction in 40K books and games. The Imperium is made up of a coalition of absolutely terrible sub-factions, including murderous nuns who torch their foes, indoctrinated child soldiers transformed into transhuman combat marines, and flesh-hating tech priests who make brain-computers by lobotomizing criminals.

Total War Warhammer 3 is without question one of the most ambitious strategy games we’ve ever seen on PC, and it just got even better. A Total War Warhammer 3 update includes several long-awaited features for its mammoth Immortal Empires campaign mode, along with ways to more directly influence the difficulty of enemy AI during battles and a range of new landmark buildings.
