Total War Warhammer 3 to leave Game Pass right before the next DLC

Microsoft’s sizeable first party portfolio has had its fair share of ups and downs of late, but there’s little doubt in anyone’s mind that Hi-Fi Rush has been one of its best and biggest victories. Recently, developer Tango Gameworks announced that the gorgeous rhythm action game had surpassed 3 million players since it launched earlier this year, and apparently, Microsoft is ecstatic with Tango as a group on the back of that success.

Since developer Creative Assembly unveiled its Shadows of Change DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3, the studio has come under criticism from the game’s playerbase because of high pricing for the upcoming DLC. For context, Shadows of Change is priced at $24.99, which puts it at around 40% of the price of the full game.

Total War: Warhammer 3's latest slice of DLC, Shadows of Change, is coming soon, on August 31, but among the game's community this has not been cause for celebration; rather, it's being treated as a threat thanks to a price increase and an explanation from Creative Assembly's Chief Product Officer, Rob Bartholomew. It looks like this means waaagh! 

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is having its worldwide reveal today, but there’s already some official information to digest. Activision already revealed Call of Duty HQ, a one-stop destination for all content in the series, but there’s more. In the same blog post, it confirmed Open Combat missions in Modern Warfare 3’s campaign.

Microsoft has revealed the next batch of games that will be added to the Game Pass catalog over the coming days throughout the remainder of the month, and there’s a few heavy-hitters for subscribers to look forward to, after already having seen the likes of Celeste and A Short Hike being added to the service’s library earlier in the month.

Microsoft has announced new titles coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout August, which includes EVERSPACE 2, Firewatch, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Sea of Stars.

Microsoft has confirmed the Game Pass lineup from today, August 15 up to the launch of Starfield on September 6.

Rockfish Games’ Everspace 2 is finally available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, it was also released for PC (and PC Game Pass) several months before becoming playable for console subscribers as well. The space combat title was in early access for years, adding new content and systems over time, including new story sections which weren’t originally planned.

Attracting a sizeable playerbase right out the gate is one of the first and biggest challenges any multiplayer game faces at launch, and for developers trying their hand at experiences in that space, Game Pass has been a great way to get people through the door in the early days after release. Gun Interactive’s upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer horror game The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is another game that’s adopted that approach, and according to the company, it was an easy decision to make.

Since Starfield is the biggest Xbox exclusive of the year, fans aren’t just focused on what content will be available at launch, but what Bethesda could have planned for the coming months and even years. As you begin your journey through outer space and explore over 1,000 planets, you’ll join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy. Will the story end there, or will Starfield get DLC content?

Xbox Game Pass is no doubt worth the monthly cost, especially since you can get a trial version of it for $1. However, said trial has now had its length slashed, and some may think it a strange coincidence this has happened just before Starfield gets released.

Developer Creative Assembly has announced that the next major DLC release for Total War: Warhammer 3, titled Shadows of Change, will be coming to PC on August 31. Check out the trailer for the new DLC below.
