Dragon’s Dogma 2’s director Hideaki Itsuno is not a fan of fast travel in open-world games. In an interview over at IGN, Itsuno affirmed his commitment to making traveling the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 something players look forward to.

The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 might seem strangely familiar, even if you never played the original. When you start reaching the more exciting items to craft, the materials you need will get harder and harder to come by, such as Pure Quartz, which you need to make Circuit Boards. These are necessary for a lot of late-game equipment, so Pure Quartz will be a key ingredient to have on hand.

What monster-collection game would be complete without some Legendary versions to track down and add to your team? Palworld launched with a very respectable roster of Pals across its nine types, but unfortunately, it only has four Legendaries to start. However, even if you have friends along to help you search, this is a massive open world with a ton of ground to cover. If you think your team is up to the challenge and want to take on some of the toughest Pals in the game, here is where you can find all of the Legendaries currently in the game.

Dragon's Dogma 2's director thinks less fast travel in a game can be a good thing, and if traveling by foot is boring, that's the game's fault.

As a longtime fan of the series, 2020’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon came as a bit of a shock to my system. Fun as it was, the sudden switch to stop-start, turn-based JRPG attacks was a lot to get my head around after more than a decade of enjoying the series’ signature combo-based beat ‘em up action – a bit like spending over 10 years getting really good at thumb wrestling and then being asked to play chess. Thankfully its follow-up, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, substantially retools the combat system: it’s still turn-based, but the tactical decision-making introduced by its predecessor is enhanced with more flexible movement and proximity-based attacks that better reflect the rough-and-tumble tactility of the traditional Yakuza street fights. As a result, Infinite Wealth’s brawling feels more like the best of both worlds, and its stunning new Hawaiian setting provides the perfect playground in which to unleash its superior style of smackdown.

Weighing in on the debate, Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno explained why he is keen to avoid the former, preferring that players travel normally and experience the world around them.

qomp2, a puzzle platformer indie game that puts you into the role of the ball from Pong, has finally received a release date. Following its initial announcement in August 2023, you can expect to embark on this rather enchanting adventure on February 22, 2024.

NASA, with the help of its advanced space and ground-based telescopes, has recently tracked the asteroid that is set to pass Earth today, January 19. The asteroid, given the designation of Asteroid 2024 AE3 by NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS), is travelling towards Earth in its orbit at a breakneck speed of 27076 kilometers per hour, which is almost as fast as Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs)!

Diablo 4 has finally lifted the lid on its upcoming season, the Season of the Construct, and with it comes all new seasonal mechanics, content, rewards, and a slew of other changes and tweaks to the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is going to be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, Frontier Developments has revealed. The turn based strategy title will be available on those platforms from February 20th, and has been priced at £34.99 / $44.99 / €44.99, though those who pre-order will get a 15% discount. Pre-orders will also include the Relics of Titan, which are two unique items.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sees you hacking and slashing a lot of foes so it’s wise to check out the tools of the trade with our full list of weapons and guide on how to upgrade them.

Even though the series has never fully embraced the Metroidvania design, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown proves that this franchise was tailor-made for it. The dynamic movement, time abilities, and acrobatic combat, when packaged in a tight, well-designed 2D game, mix like a cold drink in the desert. With that genre shift, you can count on most of the tropes to come along with it, most notably the intricate and intertwining map. Exploration is key to these games, as is backtracking, which means you will frequently reference your map to get your bearings. But until you’ve uncovered the rooms yourself, each section of the map will remain shrouded in fog. While you could manually fill in each and every corner, finding Farbia in a given zone will instantly reveal everything there is to see on your map. The trick then becomes figuring out where to find her.

As is the case with Metroidvanias, you’ll be exploring the world map, backtracking and opening up new routes in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown — and fast travel helps keep the action fresh by avoiding well-trodden ground.

Just a day into the new year, one haunted horror game is already making waves by disguising itself as a long-lost Nintendo 64 platformer.

Lockheed Martin Corp. and NASA gave the public a sneak peek of a plane that could pave the way for cutting some flight times in half.  The X-59, which was unveiled on Friday afternoon in Palmdale, California, has been designed to fly faster than the speed of sound with much less noise. When planes break the sound barrier — called Mach 1 — a loud and continuous sonic boom is created that can shatter windows on the ground. The US banned civilian aircraft from reaching this speed over land in 1973.

Developer Titan Forge Games and publisher Hi-Rez Studios have announced Smite 2, a sequel to Smite that is rebuilding the third-person action MOBA from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. There's no release date for the sequel, but Titan Forge Games says it's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Closed early alpha testing will begin this spring.

When Disney Lorcana launched over the summer, the majority of consumers seemed mostly into it for the bling — big shiny cards filled with their favorite Disney characters. But with the arrival of Ravensburger’s second set of cards in November, titled Rise of the Floodborn, it’s obvious that many of the game’s most basic mechanical elements still have yet to be revealed. Case in point are the all-new location cards, which will roll out with the game’s third set titled Into the Inklands beginning on March 8. A new card was revealed Thursday, and it’s clear that the mechanic could have the potential to greatly alter the strategy of the game.

There are many things that video gamers are good at and some things they’re forced to be good at. One of those things is knowing when a game comes out and how long they’ll have to wait to play it. After all, when it comes to being a gamer, the two “frames of time” you often have to count the most are the playtime of the game you’re in and how many days until you get to play the next one. Koltin provides frequent rewards for bringing him Bubbul Gems, but gathering every single one across Hyrule is a tall order that dedicated players will nonetheless be rewarded for.

As you can probably tell from the name, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game is an extension of MudRunner and SnowRunner’s uniquely slow-paced brand of off-road driving simulation. These open-world trucking sims turn their swampy sandboxes into complex puzzles that will suck your hapless trucks into their boggy bowels if you make a bad decision, or overestimate the capabilities of your vehicle. The core of Expeditions is different – shelving the heavy trucking aspect and focusing instead on navigation and exploration – but the spirit is the same.
