Bandai Namco’s free demo forTekken 8 is now available on PlayStation 5 (with the Xbox Series X/S and PC versions coming December 21st). Requiring 28 GB of installation space on all platforms, it features Chapter 1 of the Story Mode, The Dark Awakens, and the first chapter of Arcade Quest, though some parts of the latter may differ from the game.

Recent weeks have seen Bandai Namco continuing to roll out new trailers revealing the characters that will populate Tekken 8’s roster of playable fighters at launch, highlighting the likes of Leo Kliesen, Steve Fox, Sergei Druganov, and newcomer Reina. Another one of those trailers has arrived, this time throwing the spotlight on Yoshimitsu.

If you can’t wait to get your fist on Tekken 8 next year, then thankfully you won’t have to! Bandai Namco has announced that a Tekken 8 demo will be out on PlayStation this week, and then for Xbox and PC next week.

New hands-on impressions for Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 have gone live today, including details on the Story Mode. Unlike Arcade Quest, which sees players embarking on a national trip to challenge everyone, it continues the tale of the King of Iron Fist Tournament. As Xbox Wire notes, a new tournament has been created with Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima at odds once again.

2023 might be coming to a close, but it looks like the constant stream of major new game releases isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The first few months of 2024 have a number of heavy hitters lined up for launch, with Tekken 8 being one of the biggest ones, and ahead of the fighter’s imminent release, players will get the chance to sample some of its offerings soon.

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has much going for it, from the Story Mode (with story digests for past titles to catch players up) to the new Arcade Quest and Super Ghost Battles. However, it also features a returning feature – My Replay and Tips – with significant changes to help players improve.

The Iron First tournament is coming to PS5. To prepare my mind, body, and soul for the occasion, I spent a few hours training with the latest build of Tekken 8. After trading blows with some of the world’s best across a variety of new modes, I can’t wait to earn my spot among the elite when the game launches on January 26.

The upcoming PC requirements for Tekken 8 are now available on Steam.

Bandai Namco has revealed the PC requirements forTekken 8 on the game’s Steam page, and they’re slightly higher than the closed network test. Along with requiring Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 12, players will need a whopping 100 GB of available space. A solid-state drive isn’t required, but that could change.

The latest character to be revealed for Tekken 8 is Leo, who first made his debut in the series with Tekken 6. In the new trailer, Leo’s moves are showcased with his Bajiquan style coming through. It is a Chinese based martial art that focuses on close combat with powerful moves. Leo is also on his quest for revenge against the Mishima family.

Earlier this month, with the reveal of newcomer Reina, Bandai Namco unveiled the full lineup of the 32 base characters that Tekken 8 will launch with a couple of months from now, and the publisher is now back to releasing gameplay trailers for characters that have been previously confirmed but haven’t received their own dedicated showcases.

Bandai Namco has revealed a brand new character for Tekken 8. Meet «living legend» Victor Chevalier from France.

Bandai Namco promised a character reveal for Tekken 8 on November 2nd, and it delivered by introducing a new fighter: Victor Chevalier. Hailing from France and voiced by Vincent Cassel of Ocean’s Twelve/Thirteen and Westworld fame, he embodies “refined violence.” Check out the trailer below.

TheTekken franchise may grow and evolve, adding new features and mechanics, but one thing is for sure: Panda will always find a way in. Bandai Namco has confirmed that Panda will be playable in Tekken 8. There’s no trailer yet, but her profile is available on the game’s official roster page.

Bandai Namco recently announced a new closed beta for Tekken 8 from October 20th to 23rd. Fortunately, it isn’t the same closed network test from July. Players can partake in Ranked and group matches, spectate, chat in the Tekken Fight Lounge and even customize avatars. There’s also a Battle Tutorial.

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 is one of the major releases to look forward to in 2024, with a closed beta set for October. Before that, the development team revealed several new features (via PlayStation Blog Japan), including the return of Tekken Ball.

During today’s Opening Night Live show at gamescom 2023, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada showcased a brand-new trailer for Tekken 8. Unlike the past several trailers, which tended to focus on a single character, this one unveils a whole slew of veteran fighters at once as well as a new single-player mode for fans and newcomers to enjoy. We also now finally know Tekken 8’s release date, which is January 26 of next year.

As previously confirmed, Tekken 8 was one of several games to take the stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live, with Bandai Namco showcasing an extensive new trailer for Tekken 8. In addition to showing more glimpses of what the fighter’s story mode will have in store, the trailer also confirms that there will be 32 characters in the roster at launch. 

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 is confirmed to appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, and with its recent age rating in South Korea, a release date could be announced. However, it seems that may have already leaked, courtesy of @ALumia_Italia on Twitter, which follows the Xbox Store’s backend.

We have been steadily revealing the roster for Tekken 8, and the excitement each reveal has generated with fans has been amazing. At EVO 2023, we announced that Azucena, a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter from Peru, and Raven, a secret intelligence agent specializing in ‘ninjutsu,’ will join Tekken 8 coming to PlayStation 5. Azucena is an all-new character in the series, while Raven returns from Tekken 6. In this article, we will dive into the design of Azucena and Raven, as well as a behind-the-scenes look.

For starters, players were able to use Cheat Engine to dig into the game’s recent Closed Network Test, spilling the beans on six unannounced characters. Now, it seems Bandai Namco itself has accidentally revealed a couple of fighters before time.

Bandai Namco’s closed network test for Tekken 8 went live for PS5 players on July 21st and eventually for all platforms on July 28th. Unfortunately, some players have been able to play beyond the extended test period and even used Cheat Engine to datamine potentially unrevealed characters.

Bandai Namco has said that Tekken 8 is set to have a much bigger at launch than its predecessor did, and many of the characters that will populate that roster have already been unveiled. Plenty, of course, have yet to take the stage up until now, though it seems at least a few unannounced characters in the game’s roster may have leaked.

Mark your calendars. This year’s Evolution Championship Series (Evo) takes place from August 4 to 6. For fighting game enthusiasts, 2023 is certainly starting to feel like the year of the fighting game, with a tidal wave of highly anticipated titles like the recently released Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 launching September 19,  Tekken 8 on the horizon, Riot Games’ intriguing new foray into the genre, and much more to come. 

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has received its first closed network test. It’s currently available on PS5 from July 21st, 10 AM to July 24th, 9 AM CEST, before returning on July 28th to 31st (with Xbox Series X/S and PC players joining the fray). A new guide is thus available to familiarize players with the mechanics and what to expect.

Earlier today, Bandai Namco resumed its rollout of character trailers for Tekken 8 after a brief hiatus. This latest one centers around Claudio Serafino, a character previously introduced in Tekken 7’s base roster who returns here in Tekken 8 apparently to annoy me specifically. He was easily one of the least compelling newcomers from that game, but at the very least, those who enjoyed his playstyle will undoubtedly look forward to seeing how he fits into Tekken 8’s revamped mechanics. Bandai Namco actually already revealed Claudio’s return in a brief teaser at the end of the announcement trailer for the upcoming closed network test. This new trailer does, however, provide our first glimpses into Claudio’s gameplay.
