The last few days have been big for fans of fighting games, with Evo having brought with it major updates on a number of upcoming titles, from Mortal Kombat 1 to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Bandai Namco has joined in on the fun as well, and released two new trailers that add a couple of characters to Tekken 8’s growing roster of fighters.
Both Raven and newcomer Azucena were leaked recently by Bandai Namco Europe itself, and both have now been officially confirmed. Raven, of course, makes his return after being missing in action in Tekken 7, and is bringing all of his crunching, shadowy abilities along with him. Azucena, meanwhile, hails from Peru, loves coffee, and uses a mixture of agile dodging and impactful strikes in fights. Alongside Jack-8, she’s the second new character to be added to Tekken 8’s roster. Check out both trailers below for a glimpse of what the duo will bring to the table.
Recently, six unannounced characters from Tekken 8’s roster were also leaked, courtesy of datamining of its closed network test, with Raven being one of the six. Read more about that through here.
Tekken 8 is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Bandai Namco has previously said it’ll launch sometime before April 2024.

The game is coming exclusively to PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam®. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios Inc., TEKKEN 8 will harness the power of current hardware to make it the most visually stunning game in the series yet. TEKKEN 8 is now available for pre-order in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Edition
This year is shaping up to have a killer line-up of fighting games between the launches of Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6, but unfortunately, Tekken 8 won’t be completing the holy trinity as it just got a new release date: January 26th 2024. Not too far away from 2023’s punch-a-thon, though, and to tide us over, publisher Bandai Namco dropped a brand new trailer at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live. Bears, arcades, and lots of kicking down below.
Tekken 8 will release in early 2024 on PC and consoles, making it one of the first major releases of the year.
Basketball season is fast approaching, and so is a new opportunity to virtually get in on the action: NBA 2K24 New Gen. 2K shared preliminary information about the game in July but has just announced new details about September 8th's NBA 2K24, including adding a LeBron Era. This new mode follows LeBron James' 2010 journey of leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat and leads into the already existing Modern Era. NBA 2K23 also introduced the Magic vs. Bird Era, Jordan Era and Kobe Era to the game.
Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 is confirmed to appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, and with its recent age rating in South Korea, a release date could be announced. However, it seems that may have already leaked, courtesy of @ALumia_Italia on Twitter, which follows the Xbox Store’s backend.
Tom Holland and Chris Pratt are reportedly pegged to star in the Jak and Daxter movie adaptation.
