BGMI developer Krafton has announced the launch of Bullet Echo India — a multiplayer free-to-play top-down shooter game for smartphones. Developed in collaboration with Cut the Rope maker Zeptolab, Bullet Echo India is available on iOS and Android smartphones and is said to be tailored to Indian gamers and will offer players the ability to team up with friends and jump into brisk two-minute battles as they try to eliminate other teams, until there is only one group left standing.

Firaxis veterans Jake Solomon and Will Miller have formed Midsummer Studios.

Krafton released its Q1 financials report, which says it reached $488 million in consumer spending.

Dark and Darker Mobile has released a brand-new trailer confirming some of the game's platform-specific features. Dark and Darker Mobile is the mobile version of the viral hit fantasy multiplayer game Dark and Darker. Dark and Darker has been hotly anticipated since its initial early access launch last year, and Dark and Darker Mobile should go a long way in introducing even more players to the unique extraction game.

After channelling the atmosphere and gory terror of Dead Space (though alas, not its reception) in 2022’s sci-fi horror shooter, The Callisto Protocol is apparently now looking to the likes of Hades to inspire a new roguelike spin-off set in its universe, currently codenamed Project Birdseye.

Publisher KRAFTON and developer Striking Distance Studios have announced Project Birdseye, a tentatively titled roguelike action game set in The Callisto Protocol‘s Black Iron Prison. Platforms and a release date were not announced.

KRAFTON subsidiary Flyway Games has announced Waltz and Jam, an action adventure game coming to PC via Steam. A release date was not announced.

Developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment has offered some clarification on what it meant when it referred to upcoming survival game Subnautica 2 as a live-service title. In a post on its official blog, the studio says that it simply plans to offer continuous post-launch updates to the game, and that there are no plans to offer other games-as-service trappings like battle passes, season passes or subscriptions in Subnautica 2.

Unknown Worlds Entertainment planned to share more about the next Subnautica and its early access plans this year, but publisher Krafton beat it to the punch (again). According to the latter’sQ4 fiscal year 2023 and full-year earnings results, the next game is titled Subnautica 2.

Striking Distance Studios, the developer of The Callisto Protocol, has started development on its next project, as per a job ad published by the studio.

As job listings had previously indicated, a new game in the Subnautica series is indeed in development. Krafton, the parent company of Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds, recently confirmed that the studio is working on a third instalment in the survival series. In the wake of that confirmation, Unknown Worlds has also provided further details.

Krafton and NetEase have resolved their dispute over PUBG and Knives Out.

Job listings for Unknown Worlds may have teased a new entry in theSubnautica series as far back as April 2022, but we now have confirmation. Krafton’s Q3 2023 earnings results confirmed that the next Subnautica is in development and targeting launch in the first half of 2025.

It looks like PUBG Studios' upcoming extraction shooter, Project Black Budget, will drop in the second half of 2024.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has launched its new 2.8 update, bringing a zombie-themed game mode called ‘Zombie's Edge.' The update is available for free download now, on Android and iOS, with the mode being unlocked on the Erangel, Livik, and Miramar maps. The Aerolith Lab and its surrounding areas serve as the hotspot during the event, teeming with countless ‘mutants' to kill, alongside an occasional Berserker and Ripper variants, which will prove more challenging. The former is of a muscular stature, whose right arm can seamlessly transform between a sharp blade and an armoured fist. Meanwhile, the Ripper is slender and uses its agility to close in and perform slash attacks.

A month hardly ever goes by where PlayStation Plus’ free offerings don’t get leaked ahead of time, and sure enough, over on Dealabs, serial leaker billbil-kun has spilled the beans – at least partially – on the free games that Sony will be offering to PlayStation Plus subscribers during the month of October.

It’s been a turbulent time for The Callisto Protocol developer Striking Distance Studios, and it looks like that’s set to continue. The horror title launched last December to lukewarm reception from critics and audiences, following which it failed to achieve sales targets, while last month, it was reported that the studio had laid off over 30 employees.

The next big BGMI update, version 2.8, is set to arrive in October. This prediction is based on past update schedules, plus the fact that the current A1 Royale Pass will finish on October 2nd, and Cycle 4 Season 12 will end on October 23rd.

E-sports company Krafton India on Tuesday said it has roped in Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
