Mafia developer Hangar 13 has been working on the next game in franchise for a few years. Official updates and information about the new Mafia title have been scarce since its existence was confirmed in 2022. The game was initially rumoured to be a prequel, with reported plans to develop it in Unreal Engine 5. Now, after almost two years since the unnamed Mafia game was first confirmed, publisher 2K is reportedly close to making an official announcement about the series.

The Summer Game Fest showcase returns this June, and it’s already looking to offer some big reveals. On the event’s official Twitter, it’s teased that 2K Games will reveal the “next iteration” in one of its “biggest and most beloved franchises.”

Developer Hangar 13 has been revealing plenty of new details on the tennis sim in the lead-up to its launch, and in a recent interview with Wccftech, also shed light on what to expect from the game’s performance targets on all platforms.

TopSpin 2K25 sees the franchise returning after over 13 years. Developed by Hangar 13 (which features developers from 2K Czech, who worked on Top Spin 4), it features World Tour and 2K Tour modes alongside the new MyCareer, where players can create a character and compete through TopSpin Academy before moving on to the big leagues.

The revival of the popular tennis sim series will launch on April 26, across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC. 2K also confirmed some of the tennis stars who will be present in the game, as part of a roster of 24 playable pros. TopSpin 2K25 received a new trailer, showing off gameplay and tennis icons like Roger Federer and Serena Williams in action.

TopSpin 2k25 was announced in January, the first entry in the tennis series since 2011. It turns out there's not long to wait before it's served up either, as it now has a release date of April 26th.
