The producer of the upcoming Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster has confirmed the game will be getting a physical version alongside a digital release. The remaster of this cult classic Xbox 360 and PS3 hack-and-slash game was originally announced for release in 2023, before it was later delayed to 2024. Dragami Games producer, Yoshimi Yasuda, has been providing fans with steady updates about the progress on Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, including its projected release window of Summer 2024. Yasuda has now confirmed the game won't be saddled with a digital-only re-release, but a boxed copy as well.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, an upcoming remaster of the hack-and-slash Xbox 360/PS3 title from famed game designer Suda51, might finally receive a proper reveal in the near future, according to a recent tease from the developers behind the project. The long-awaited re-release of the cult classic action game will hopefully shine a new light on this overlooked title and lead to more remasters of other hidden gems from Suda51 in the future.
Earlier this month, the upcoming Shadows of the Damned remake got an official title, and one fitting for its tongue-in-cheek vibes: Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered. Due to hit shelves sometime in 2024, fans of the original 2011 title are eager to return to the bizarre world of Garcia Hotspur. Apparently, the game’s writer Suda51 is also extremely interested.
Shadows of the Damned was released way back in 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a collaboration between two of the most iconic Japanese video game makers: Shinji Mikami (of Resident Evil fame) and Goichi Suda, otherwise known as Suda51. Although the hyper-violent, third-person corridor shooter/action-adventure romp didn't make waves with its sales, critics were pretty positive. And now, after 13 long years, Grasshopper and Suda are bringingShadows of the Damned back with theHella Remastered edition, launching sometime this year.
Legendary Japanese game developer and founder of Grasshopper Manufacture, Goichi «Suda51» Suda, has been involved with the creation and direction of many violent and action-heavy video games (and their main characters). From the hyper-sexualized chainsaw-wielding Juliet in Lollipop Chainsaw to the joke-cracking katana-wielding assassin Travis Touchdown inNo More Heroes, Suda knows how to make an interesting character and even more interesting (but sometimes divisive) video games.
Shadows of the Damned, the unexpected collaboration between No More Heroes, Killer7 and Lollipop Chainsaw creator Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami, will finally see a PC release with a new remake later this year - over a decade after it first hit consoles.

Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami has reportedly started a new studio.
Last week, the Shadows of the Damned remake got a title: Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered. While no release date was confirmed and no platforms announced, fans were left eager to learn more. Now we know the game is coming in 2024 and will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Grasshopper Manufacture has confirmed the full title for its remaster of Shadows of the Damned.
Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, the official title of the June 2023-announced Shadows of the Damned remaster, will be playable at PAX East 2024, which will run from March 21 to 24 in Boston, Massachusetts, Grasshopper Manufacture announced.
Released in 2011, Shadows of the Damned remains one of the most beloved third-person shooters from the 2010s. Produced by Shinji Mikami, the director of the first Resident Evil and Dino Crisis games, and written by Suda51, the brain behind No More Heroes and Lollipop Chainsaw, the action-adventure game has a signature style that continues to impress gamers to this day.
Grasshopper Manufacture, the punk rock video game studio led by CEO and game designer Goichi “Suda51” Suda, turned 25 years old earlier this year. This milestone firmly entrenches Grasshopper as a contemporary of larger and more well-known developers like Valve, Sony Santa Monica, and Retro Studios, which may come as a shock if all you know about the studio is that time Suda revealed a game while sitting on a toilet.
