The story so far has been left on a cliffhanger, which this expansion is poised to address.

With the new ‘Vessel of Hated’ expansion revealed, Blizzard also said that it will release a new class. Certain Diablo 4 leaks hint to a new class called Spiritborn.

On the opening night of BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard announced Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred, the first big DLC expansion coming to the action RPG blockbuster in late 2024.

During BlizzCon 2023, Blizzard Entertainment finally revealed its first paid expansion for Diablo 4 – Vessel of Hatred, which ventures to Torjang. As rumored, Mephisto will be the focus this time, and players can expect a new class unlike anything seen in the series. While the expansion is a ways off, we won’t have to wait too long for more information.

Along with adding five new Unique Rings to the game, Diablo 4’s next patch, which goes live on December 7th, will also contain adjustments for Season of Blood. It will increase the pillar health in the Sanguine Battery Event from 75 to 85 percent, and the repair time will decrease from three seconds to one second.

While Diablo 4’s next season and first paid expansion launch next year, players won’t have too long for new content. The Abattoir of Zir runs from December 5th to January 23rd, offering a new challenge for level 100 players. Before that, five new Unique Rings will go live on November 7th and allow for adding powers from Season of the Malignant to one’s build.

Diablo 4 ’s first major expansion has been announced. Vessel of Hatred was announced at BlizzCon today with a brief teaser video and the title, with more info to come tomorrow when the Diablo 4 team presents. 

Blizzard Entertainment has stressed on no few occasions that it has big plans for Diablo 4 where post-launch content is concerned, with the company planning on releasing annual expansions, of which two were confirmed to be in development earlier this year. Recently, at BlizzCon 2023, the company formally unveiled the first of those.

We’re only four days away from opening ceremonies at BlizzCon and finally have answered all the questions about what’s new and what we all have to look forward to. In the meantime, let’s look at what we are likely to see and talk through some things that would be cool to see but are unlikely.

Blizzard has released a new update for Diablo 4. Numbered at patch 1.2.1, the update brings with it a host of bug fixes, a training dummy, and the ability to respec the entirety of the Paragon Board at the click of a button.

Following a free weekend on Xbox, Diablo 4 is free to download and play on PC from today through October 30th. Meanwhile, the Diablo Immortal team has issued a warning to cheaters.

Dataminers have seemingly discovered that the first major expansion release for Diablo 4 will likely revolve around Mephisto. According to the dataminers, the expansion is set to be called Lord of Hatred.

The Diablo 4 Blood Harvest is going well, with the community already having met the first goal, unlocking themed weapon skins for all. 

players will need Living Steel to summon and fight the new Season of Blood boss, Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint. Although you only need two Living Steel to summon the boss in World Tier Three (Nightmare) and five in World Tier Four (Torment), obtaining even one Living Steel is difficult enough. That's because you need to acquire another currency to get your hands on Living Steel.

Season 2 of introduces new bosses to fight across Sanctuary, including a frozen foe named The Beast in the Ice that you'll have to summon by unlocking a Nightmare Dungeon. Only a specific item your character can craft is able to open the path toward this dangerous boss. Only those who have progressed to a high enough level and World Tier will be able to challenge The Beast in Ice for Unique gear rewards.

Diablo 4 is available as a timed trial for Xbox players this weekend. The trial will be available to play until October 22, and will have a time limit of 10 hours of gameplay. According to Microsoft, the addition of the Diablo 4 timed trial is a new addition to its Free Play Days. Other games as part of this weekend’s Free Play Days are NBA 2K24, Lawn Mowing Simulator, and Hokko Life.

It’s the Season of Blood in Diablo 4, and Blizzard is using the vampiric themed season to do some good. They’re running a monthlong campaign to encourage real-life blood donation. If the community hits certain donation goals, Blizzard will give out a number of in-game rewards and launch a sweepstakes for a brand new PC.

Diablo 4 is currently enjoying a resurface thanks to the release of Season 2, Season of the Blood. Adding more to that, Xbox users now have the opportunity to enjoy Diablo 4 for free for a limited which could be an omen of its arrival on Game Pass thanks to the Activision Blizzard purchase by Microsoft.

Diablo 4 has a brand new season live now, Season of Blood, and there are new Unique items, new story questline, and of course, lots of vampires to learn to defeat by using their own blood powers. There’s also a Xbox Free Play Days weekend starting today, including Diablo 4.

Season 2 of is the Season of Blood, which features exciting Blood Harvest events that feature new items called Seeker Keys. Blood Harvests are like Helltides but with vampires instead of demons. When you travel to the green-tinted areas that mark a Blood Harvest, your job is to collect Blood Lures and Seeker Keys to get exciting rewards.

For all completionists out there, after discovering all areas and playing all side missions in Diablo 4, we were all greeted by rewards thanks to our collected Renown across Sanctuary. Thankfully, our new Seasonal characters won’t have to suffer the same fate of walking across the world searching for souls to help, diabolical enemies to fight, chests to open, and dangerous areas to discover. Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the next Diablo 4 Developer Update livestream will occur on October 4th, 11 AM PDT. Season of Blood, the second season for the action RPG looter, is the focus.

With the Season of Blood coming October 17th, the Diablo 4 team has set a date for their next Campfire Chat livestream to talk about the season and upcoming improvements. 

Looks like Diablo 4 is headed for the annual expansions model, with seasonal releases in between. The info came via a new interview with Diablo GM Rod Fergusson, who confirmed Blizzard’s plans for its latest big release.

 The most common complaints about Diablo 4 often cite a lack of things to do in the endgame as a chief concern. In theory, seasonal content should fix that, but as evident with The Season of the Malignant, many feel that’s not the case. In an interview with Dexerto, GM Rob Fergusson outlined plans for Diablo 4 moving forward, including yearly Expansions.

Diablo 4 has been very successful for Blizzard Entertainment, with over 12 million players as of August 23rd. While it’s employing a seasonal model for new updates, expansions are also in the works. Series GM Rod Fergusson recently confirmed to Dexerto that the team will release expansions annually.

The start of September is unofficially Starfield Day, with Premium Edition owners gaining early access to the long-awaited sci-fi RPG. For Diablo 4 players, it’s Mother’s Blessing Weekend (yes, seriously). From September 1st, 10 AM PDT to September 5th, all XP and Gold earnings are increased by 25 percent.

First, Cold Enchanted Elites can no longer proc the status on each hit, and Chilling Wind spawns fewer overlapping walls.

Although this quelled many of the community’s frustrations, there’s still more to be done. Thanks to several accounts on Social Media, we have an idea of what’s coming next.

A new patch is available for Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4, but it’s not on the same scale as the disastrous pre-Season of the Malignant patch (or its follow-up). Regardless, it makes some good changes, like reducing the time for Malignant Monsters to spawn when a Malignant Heart has activated. It’s gone from five seconds to two.

Earlier today, Blizzard suspended player trading in Diablo IV thanks to an item and gold duplication exploit in the game. Despite the 1.1.2 patch today, trading is still disabled.

Blizzard announced an abrupt freeze on Diablo 4 player item trading following its discovery of a new duplication exploit which lets players easily farm resources and resell items. Additionally, the developer reaffirmed its stance on the EULA policy and plans to ban any players that use the exploit for personal gain.

A brand new short story, ”Teeth of the Plague”is now out, concluding the Diablo IV  Tales of Sanctuary series.

Along the release of Season 1 for Diablo 4 came brand new updates with a slew of criticisms. While certain classes got heavy buffs, Blizzard left others astray like Barbarians and Sorcerers. This disappointed many Diablo 4 fans, but Blizzard intended to listen. In the Diablo 4 patch 1.1.1 released on August 8, Barbarians and Sorcerers are saved thanks to some generous buffs.

Diablo 4 was met with critical and commercial success upon its launch last month, though things took a turn for the worse when Blizzard Entertainment went live with its first post-launch season, Season of the Malignant. From nerfs being applied liberally to nearly all classes to controversial new UI additions and more, the action RPG looter was met with a widespread wave of criticism and controversy.

Diablo 4: Season of the Malignant has been out for a while now, and it evokes a mixed bag of emotions. While the balance patch that went live at the start of the season still stings, there are plenty of viable builds out there whether you are looking to level up the season pass or are planning to push Nightmare Dungeon tiers. Currently, four of the five classes are viable for high-tier Nightmare dungeons with Sorcerer being the only exception. With a bunch of Sorcerer buffs coming, I would recommend holding off on playing the class for now and trying out something else instead. 

Patch 1.1.1 for Diablo 4 finally has a release date, going live on August 8th for all platforms. It brings some major buffs to different classes and other significant gameplay changes. Nightmare Dungeon and Helltide monster density are being increased, but so is boss health post-level 60.

Following its controversial pre-Season of the Malignant patch for Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment has dated patch 1.1.1. It’s live on August 8th and improves the late-game survivability of Sorcerer while speeding up combat flow for the Barbarian. Players of the former should also find some mechanics adjusted to move away from increasing power at the cost of something else.

In its recent Campfire Chat for Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment revealed numerous changes (with full details compiled on Reddit) for all classes in the upcoming patch 1.1.1. Sorcerer and Barbarian were the recipients of most, though these aren’t the final patch notes.

When Diablo 4 Season 1 launched, many first-timers, fans, and streamers alike were disgruntled by how easy it was to unlock the Premium Battle Pass. With one click, players lost their Premium Battle Pass ticket they had acquired from buying the Deluxe Edition of the game or wasted the Platinum they spent good money on.

After last week’s start to Diablo 4 – The Season of Malignant and the accompanying outrage surrounding update v1.1.0a, Blizzard will preview Diablo 4 patch v.1.1.1 with a campfire chat before it goes live.

The Diablo IV team will hold a special stream tomorrow to discuss patch 1.1.1, which is set to release soon. The team will go through what's in the patch, how it will potentially affect your gameplay and builds, in addition to having a Q&A for community questions. 

Patch 1.1.1 for Diablo 4 is still some ways off, but Blizzard Entertainment has released patch 1.1.0c. It contains several fixes and adjustments, but most importantly, it prevents controller players from accidentally activating their Premium Battle Pass when opening the menu. Along with defaulting to the Season Journey button, you also get a confirmation pop-up to activate the Premium tier.

If over-zealous nerfs and lackluster content weren’t enough, Blizzard Entertainment’sDiablo 4 also suffers from a particularly annoying UI issue causing players to enable the Premium Battle Pass. This is because the button for activating the Premium pass is close to the Season Journey button. Players would open the interface to check the latter and accidentally click on the former (since the game defaults to it).

The Destiny and Diablo communities went at each others’ throats on Twitter last month due to a comment made by a Destiny 2 developer who called out Diablo 4’s enemy scaling. He said that “it is one of the worst ideas in video games” and said that it takes away from playstyles and ruins power trips. Blizzard President Mike Ybarra responded with a simple “Lazy, huh.” but gamers on Twitter were divided over how games should adjust the difficulty.

As the first season of Diablo 4 goes underway, players have already found some issues. Mainly with Diablo 4‘s Season 1 Battle Pass which has a lot in it, but has a wall that you’ll hit in terms of free stuff. The Battle Pass brings a lot to the game and adds length, but there’s still the issue of how much all your grinding will pay off. Since the Complaints of Season of the Malignant mount, the biggest one is that even if you reach level 100 in the Season 1 of Diablo 4’s Battle Pass, you may not be enough to Platinum for the cheapest item.
