When I played Gestalt: Steam & Cinder during Steam Next Fest last year, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into. I was just interested in trying out every Metroidvania and this fell into that category. When I tell you that I fell in love with the demo of this game, it ended up being my most anticipated Metroidvania of 2024. There’s a brief moment in Act 3 of where players have the option to romance the Emperor and earn an achievement. The moment is fleeting and takes place while the character is asleep after searching through the illithid's belongings in the Lower City. Though there is currently only a small window where players can woo the mind flayer, it seems Larian Studios considered the possibility of making him a more romanceable character.

While 's main story focuses on a missing child and the fate of the Commonwealth, the huge RPG also offers a plethora of faction-based and side quests to keep the Sole Survivor busy. The release window for the highly anticipated has been narrowed down further, but may still come as a disappointment to some fans. Terraria is a little less concerned with limitless creativity, but that doesn't stop some people from building some truly ridiculous stuff.
