Blizzard Entertainment has announced that has been canceled, although the company does have plans for future live events this year. While there won’t be an in-person or digital BlizzCon event for this year, Blizzard promises the event will return in future years, although it may have a different format.

With Blizzard Entertainment having several major upcoming releases in the works, many had expected that the company would have a lot to say at BlizzCon later this year. Recently, however, it was announced that Blizzard had decided not to host the event in 2024. With Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard having gone through last year, there were some who wondered if it was Blizzard’s new parent company that made the decision to not go ahead with a BlizzCon event this year, but apparently that wasn’t the case.

Blizzard just announced it will not be holding a BlizzCon event in 2024. Though this unfortunate news may disappoint fans, Blizzard will be appearing at Gamescom, Dreamhack, and other live events instead.

Blizzard has already had plenty to share with Diablo IV fans at BlizzCon so far, kicking things off with the unveiling of the game's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, at the event's opening ceremony on Friday.  

Three new heroes and a new PvP game mode for Overwatch 2 were announced at this year's BlizzCon opening ceremony.

World of Warcraft   is telling a big story. so big, that the team announced The Worldsoul Saga at BlizzCon, which will tell a story over three expansions. The first, The War Within , got a new cinematic and will be out in 2024.

In 2024, it will be time once again to face Deathwing, as World of Warcraft Classic moves forward with Cataclysm Classic.

Diablo 4 ’s first major expansion has been announced. Vessel of Hatred was announced at BlizzCon today with a brief teaser video and the title, with more info to come tomorrow when the Diablo 4 team presents. 

It's no secret that the buzz around Blizzard has waned in recent years. From the various scandals that have rocked Activision Blizzard since the Pandemic to the lukewarm response to the games themselves, we've seen the once galvanized fanbase somewhat muted in recent years.

With BlizzCon starting this Friday, Blizzard has begun teasing some of what we’ll be seeing this weekend. For World of Warcraft, on Saturday, the BlizzCon Guild Clash is on. 

BlizzCon is just a week away, and Blizzard has confirmed the schedule for the two-day event and live stream for those who aren’t making it out to California.

BlizzCon will be back as an in-person event in just a few weeks, on November 3-4th, and Blizzard has announced a new digital goodies package, the BlizzCon Collection. 

BlizzCon’s return to an in-person event is coming in early November, but if you haven’t gotten your hands on tickets yet, tomorrow is your last chance. Not only is a new block of tickets going on sale, Blizzard has released the first peek at what we can expect at the event.

Earlier today, Blizzard announced a new wave of BlizzCon tickets going on sale, though their teaser has also given our first look at in-game goodies and take home swag from BlizzCon 2023! The teaser highlights just a few of what will likely be several rewards, as Blizzcon traditionally gives out goodies for each of its major franchises.

Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher has taken to Reddit to dispel the confusion about the upcoming content and game changes for Diablo 4. On October 4th and 10th, the Developer Livestreams will be covering many such exciting changes that are going to be coming to the game on the launch of Season 2. We've datamined a new texture related to BlizzCon on the Dragonflight Patch 10.1.7 PTR! Likely an unannounced BlizzCon attendance collectible, it looks like it could be a pennant or banner similar to those awarded from the MDI. These are just textures without models, so it's not entirely clear what they will be yet. Both virtual and in-person BlizzCon attendees are traditionally rewarded with extra in-game goodies such as pets, mounts, transmog, and more, for all of their major games.
