Blackrock Mountain—the result of what is now widely considered a wrong move—was created when the Dark Iron dwarf Thaurissan summoned Ragnaros into Azeroth. Ragnaros promptly incinerated Thaurissan’s kingdom, creating what is now known as Blackrock Mountain.

May 28 also introduces the start of a new PvP Season, followed by the opening of three raid dungeons on May 30 at 3:00 pm PDT globally. Blizzard has released a blog post unveiling Cata Classic zones, dungeons, and the release date of PvP Season 9! Players will be able to begin the new season starting May 28. Cataclysm Classic also features a delayed Raid Opening launch, which will take place on May 30th instead of directly on launch.

Once the bane of the low-level questers in Elwynn Forest, players will finally see Hogger captured and thrown into the Stockades in one of the many dungeon changes that occur as a part of Cataclysm Classic. Dungeon Changes in Cataclysm Classic With a range of changes that span from small updates to full revamps, the expansion brings Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep into the early end-game, with both dungeons receiving Heroic modes for players to complete at Level 85. We've put together a list of all the dungeon changes that you can expect to see in the old-world dungeons, as well as a compiled list of the new level recommendations for all of the dungeons through Lower and Upper Blackrock Spire!

While Blackrock Depths is available in Season of Discovery Phase 3, it seems that it is only half of the dungeon. Bosses from the latter half of BRD have been spotted at the Grim Guzzler hanging out and having fun. This likely means sought-after items like Hand of Justice won't be available until Phase 4. There's a secret toy you can get in Blackrock Depths! We're going to show you how to find a traveler in the Detention Block with a simple quest that rewards a Rainbow Generator, a fashionable shirt, and Student Fodder for you and your intrepid party members. Just east of the Ring in Blackrock Depths is a bridge that leads north over lava. As you get onto the bridge, look down and to the left; you'll see a friendly Dark Iron Dwarf below you on the base of a pillar. Clear the rest of the mobs ahead of you (Blazing Fireguards and a group of Shadowforge dwarves).It's a long way down ... It's parkour time! Move to the left side of the bridge near a small brazier. Get onto the railing, hug the rock wall, and jump ahead onto the platform near the wall. Move to the end of the platform, hugging the wall, and move hard into the rock corner. Turn with your left shoulder to the wall and run carefully against the wall, until you just fall down into the exposed corner. Drop down onto the rock outcrop below. Thankfully, the hard part is over! Turn left into a small room, where you'll encounter the Rugged Traveler. There are also a large number of lore books in this room; take a few minutes to check them out. When you land, he'll have a couple things to say:

Continuing to datamine Phase 3 of WoW Classic Season of Discovery, we've found several level 40-50 dungeon drops updated with new stats better itemized for their intended classes! The majority of these updates reduce the amount of spirit on several all pieces of gear, while increasing spell power or adjusting the speed and damage range on a handful of weapons. This is especially helpful to healers and casters broadening their pool of useful gear, though melee also benefit from more focused stats.

Datamining for Phase 3 of Season of Discovery has unearthed the Infernal Lasso, allowing Hunters to lasso a Demon or Beast for 24 seconds, but also mentioning that Lassoed Core Hounds may be tamed. This is likely a followup of sorts to the ability to tame Wyverns that was added in Phase 1, but if it is linked to a rune in the same way remains to be seen. If that is the case, expect a fairly length quest leading to this item and the ability to tame Core Hounds. This also raises the question of «Where would I tame a Core Hound?». Originally Core Hounds could only be found in Molten Core and Upper Blackrock Spire, but with Infernal Lasso requiring level 50, neither of those would be tameable. Alongside this, the spell Lava Breath has been datamined. This has potential to be a unique ability for tamed Core Hounds, separating them from Wyverns which were effectively reskinned Wind Serpents. In the most recent Phase 3 Preview video Blizzard has announced several changes to how instances and raids will function. One important change is that raid that are introduced in Phase 3 and beyond will be moving to a weekly reset. They say a big reason for this change is to make organization of groups more manageable.
