WWE 2K24 has just released a new update, making several quality-of-life improvements. Visual Concepts’ last couple of WWE video games have been constantly praised for their refined in-ring action, and WWE 2K24 is continuing this with good reviews so far. Fans who pre-ordered one of the game’s digital deluxe editions could jump into WWE 2K24 a few days ahead of its March 8 release, and now everyone can tag in and see for themselves how this year’s iteration builds on what worked in the past few entries.
Skyrim Fans Beg Bethesda To Stop Releasing Updates

Skyrim has received two updates in the past few months, and players hate it. Whenever Bethesda releases makes changes to the game like this, mods have to be updated. And when many players have a ridiculously long list of mods installed, waiting for all of them to be made compatible can take a while - if they're updated at all.
Now, many of these players have had enough, and are begging Bethesda to ditch Skyrim altogether. They argue that the updates don't even address issues with Skyrim anymore, and instead serve to monetise the game further with the new Creations feature.
"Bethesda needs to STOP F**KING UPDATING THIS GAME," writes Reddit user johkungo, speaking in the Skyrim Mods subreddit. "It makes modding hard as hell [...] one of the biggest reason people love this game is the modding which updates f**k up."
Many in the replies agree, saying that it's time Bethesda ditched the game, with Skyrim launching more than 12 years ago now. Much of the frustration centres around the fact that these mod-breaking updates are in aid of the Creations store, which some have argued is just a return of the controversial paid mods storefront.
"The new updates never contain any more Skyrim and instead ship a bunch of tiny mods for money that nobody asked for," says Reddit user IshayuG. "Like if we got a third expansion I’d be paying attention, but we don’t. It doesn’t fix anything, it doesn’t improve the engine, it doesn’t really do anything except update the store."
With the next game in The Elder Scrolls series still years away, don't expect Bethesda to ditch Skyrim anytime soon.
It's rare to see a player base actively asking developers to stop supporting their game, but it makes a lot of sense in this case. Updates and re-releases of Skyrim have long stopped fixing bugs, to the point where many players will rely on mods to make changes to their game instead. It's common for players to have carefully crafted setups, with hundreds of mods installed in some cases. And when there's an update, there's a very real chance that many of these mods will stop working and require an update of their own. But if the mods have already been abandoned by their creators, then you might have to remove them - a process that could muck up any other mods that rely on them to work.
It remains to be seen if Bethesda has another update planned for Skyrim. But if you're one of the modders affected by this, it's probably a good idea to turn off auto updates.
