Skyrim Massively Outperforming Starfield on Steam

A Skyrim player has stumbled upon an unusual situation in the massively popular RPG, leaving them with an unusual sense of guilt for killing an in-game NPC. The massive world of the beloved Bethesda RPG features a seemingly endless amount of content for players to explore, both throughout its many towns and across the game's vast wilderness. Skyrim has no shortage of side quests for players to tackle for the many NPCs, often leading to larger overarching stories within the wintry region. One player's in-game actions, however, have left them feeling unusually guilty about killing an NPC.

Aside from the various bugs and glitches that have plagued the game since its release, one of the longest-standing complaints is that the artificial intelligence governing the game's NPCs isn't all that compelling, resulting in enemies that don't require strategy or skill to defeat. Fortunately, a new mod has taken aim at the problem.

According to SteamDB, Starfield's Steam listing was recently updated, adding an «unknown app» to the Steam backend that's widely speculated to be the Shattered Space DLC.

Starfield's next update will arrive in beta on March 6th, bringing another suite of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. Top of the list of tweaks is the ability to change player character and compansion facial expressions during photo mode, like running your family snaps through FaceApp to create the illusion everyone had fun on their holiday to the Bonneville salt flats.

Bethesda has revealed that the next big Starfield update will deploy in Steam Beta form next week.

People have been playing for over a decade at this point, but in all that time, it's doubtful they've reached a character Level of 1337. series has been a massive success story for Bethesda since the first game released in 1994. That success extends to the fifth installment in the main franchise, which remains incredibly popular with players.

When the end of the world comes (and it will), I like to imagine that in the midst of all the rubble and chaos, people will still be playing Skyrim. There doesn’t seem to be any way that people won’t tinker with the game and in this instance, we get to see dead technology being revived in order to play TES5.

Over a decade later, Skyrim players are still pushing Bethesda's iconic RPG to its limits. Tamriel's latest absurd accomplishment comes from Pawelos4, who claims to have reached level 1,337 on "the ultimate Skyrim character," who has apparently done everything that can feasibly be done. And they uploaded a stonking 11 hours of sped up footage to prove it. 

Even though many of us may see Skyrim as one of the greatest RPGs of all time, there’s no denying that it’s a painfully flawed game. We know this, and that’s why modders are always working to make sure Bethesda’s aging epic maintains some degree of relevancy.
